Editorial review from Citysearch 4/1/2013

Just looked over the reviews (which are nearly 4-5 years old now), I'll pay more attention next time. This place was really bad. We went for lunch and ordered salad rolls, which are normally pretty substantial - these were puny, the size of egg rolls. The Pho Lemongrass soup someone recommended, was ok broth, if not salty, and the meat stale (old), the rice noodles clumped together (old) and when I asked about jalepeno, the woman (owner?) grabbed it from under the bean sprouts with here hand and said ""right here"" and put it in my soup. Gross! I also ordered the noodle, shrimp and pork with egg roll dish. Gross! The lettuce was wilted, the egg roll over deep fried greasy mess, the pork, like the soup meat, thin sliced and old tasting, and the shrimp non impressive. We will not go back here, and no, in terms of taste and freshness, does not compare a bit with Pho Van, where everything is fresh and delicious. more

Excellent Food and Service, Family Feel 11/11/2008

We are not Pho experts, but eat at Pho Van regularly. We really liked Pho Huy. The service was great and the Chicken Soup and Lemongrass Chicken were very good. The owner was there and took great care of us. She was warm and friendly and motherly. She definitely gave the place a great feel. For me, Pho Van has an anonymous , almost corporate feel. Pho Huy felt personal and familial, and it was very clean. We will certainly be back again. Pros: Great food, friendly, fast service, nice and clean, in Clackamas more

Best lemongrass broth in Portland! 11/2/2008

I love lemongrass broth and have sampled it at several restaurants in Portland. It's usually ok but comes with several cons. Pho Huy has no cons in my opinion. Large servings- even on togo orders, the broth is made fresh daily with many herbs, is rich in flavor and has the perfect amount of spiciness. Fresh Basil, lots of noodles, full bottles of sriracha at the table (which is strangely rare at most restaurants). The service is great too! The owner, Han, has been there everytime we've stopped by. She is passionate about her business, takes pride in the freshness of her food, is friendly and very generous. The rest of the staff is sweet and friendly as well. They also take credit cards over the phone and deliver!!! Enjoy! :) Pros: fresh seafood (whatever's in season), large servings, great service more

Where Pho art thou..... 7/30/2007

I have been to this restaurant Pho Huy, pronounced WEE, many time over the past year, and each time the service and food is above par. Pros: Easy access, have fun with chop sticks and a fat spoon Cons: If you don't like to have fun....... more

So Good! 1/14/2007

This was only my second time trying Pho and it was delious! The service is friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable and casual. Great place to go any night of the week. I will for sure return to this place often! Pros: Price, Location, Service, Not-crowded more

Great Vietnamese Restaurant 6/26/2006

It is often said that after you eat at a Chinese restaurant, you are hungry an hour later. At Vietnamese restaurants, it often doesn't seem to take an hour. :-) The food tends to be very ""light"" and not always pleasing to this westerner's taste. Pros: Very large variety Cons: Very large variety more
