Best

I have been going to Peter's for more then 10 years and have yet to find better!

Worst

It's convenient to my home in Brentwood, so been there for dinner about a half dozen times. If you can overcome the impression that you're in a NYC fast food place that couldn't c...

Can't say enough good things about Peter's! 12/29/2008

My family has been dining with Peter ever since he worked at Miyako in Brentwood. We were so glad when they finally decided to expand the restaurant and open up seating as well as expand the sushi bar. Pros: Sushi, salmon rolls, pad thai Cons: Sometimes a long wait more

Great Sushi, Reasonable Prices, Trendy Atmosphere 12/11/2008

I've been in Nashville 8 years, and I've eaten sushi just about everywhere, but I had never tried Peter's. I really liked it. The pieces of nigiri were huge--well worth the $. My Mom had the Pad Thai which was delicious as well. I only ordered sushi, and it came w/soup salad, and we each were given 1/2 egg roll for no extra cost. The sushi did take a while, but it was worth it. Plus, I had the soup, salad, etc to snack on while I waited. I ordered 1 roll, and there were more pieces than I could dream of eating. This restaurant was just remodeled, and the de'cor is so cute. It's a very well-rounded sushi/thai restaurant that's great for lunch, a date, or family outing. There are some whole-in-the-wall places to get good sushi for a little less $, but at that point you're sacrifcing atmosphere. I totally recommend Peter's! Pros: Quality sushi, great atmosphere Cons: the wait for sushi more

HAIR IN SUSHI !!!!!!!!!!and cold food! 12/8/2008

Went to Peters for dinner on Friday 12/05/20008. Ordered crunchy shrimp sushi, basil beef, pad-thai, and tum yum soup. The sushi came out about 30 minutes after we ordered. Ate a couple of pieces before we realized there was a long hair in one of the sushi pieces. Told the waiter and she just took the sushi way quietly so that other customers did not notice. Didn't offer any solutions. Told us she wouldn't charge us for the sushi. About 10 minutes later she brought out two bowls of tum yum soup (I thought she was making up for the hair in the sushi) ... right before I was about to eat she comes by and says that this was for another table as we only ordered one bowl. She grabs the two bowls of tum yum soup and gives it to the table next to us... How wierd.. I would not have eaten soup that someone almost put in their mouths. About another 15 minutes later, she brought out the entres which was cold. Not sure if I'd wanna go here again. Pros: N/A Cons: Hair in food, slow/bad service, inconsistent food more

Peter's serves wonderful, fresh sushi 12/8/2008

Peter's Sushi in Brentwood has changed! Not to worry, those who have frequented Peter's Sushi Pros: Wide selection of noodle dishes, rice dishes and FRESH sushi Cons: There are selections suitable for children, but may be limited more

Trendy restaurant; Not worth your time 10/12/2008

Take it from a world traveler and food critic. Peter's is not really worth your money. It wasn't bad food by any means, but it wasn't stellar cuisine either. I shelled out $50 for two people, yet we had a meal inferior to some of the cheap Thai restaurants along Nolensville Road. Pros: Presentation, atmosphere, appetizers, sauces, quality of vegetables Cons: Poor quality of meat, poor quality of sushi, way too expensive for what you get more

Lunch consistency 8/27/2008

We have been going to Peter's for a five years. We like the new location a lot and also the staff. We get great service, but lately have been having issues with food quality at lunch. We have had poor Red Curry, Green Curry, fried rice and also the Chicken Teriyaki was way over cooked and salty. Seems that there is no consistency at lunch with some foods and the taste varies so guess that maybe the different cooks are using different recipes/ingredients. Also, some times we get a regular portion, other times it seems like the portion is cut back and very small. May be wise for the owners to work with cooks to insure that every plate coming to our table is the same in quality and also quantity. We like Peter's and will continue to come as the folks out front are really friendly and give wonderful service. We just hope the cook gets back on track more

Mediocre sushi, horrible service 8/18/2008

I went there tonight for the first time in the new location...I didn't really enjoy my first dining experience at Peter's, but with all the hype, I thought I'd try it again. The wait wasn't the problem - being served after several other tables that were seated after us was. That was only the beginning of a night of very bad service. All in all, the sushi was mediocre at best. I'm a Gulf Coast girl, where the sushi is out of this world. The place to go for comparable sushi in Nashville is Wild Wasabi in Cummins Station. Friendly owners and staff and the freshest fish in town. Every time I go somewhere else I only regret it. more

Best Sushi in Nashville, if not ever! 8/13/2008

My family has been loyal customers of Peter's for 15 years, and hands down it is the best sushi ever. Peter's take on the Dragon Roll is addictive and delectable and the sauce he uses for the Volcano Roll is amazing. Also, if you are a fan of edamame, Peter's got the best. I have been to almost every sushi restaurant in town, and Peter's is hands down the best out there. Pros: Great sushi, great new place, great wait staff, great ambience Cons: Expect a little bit of a wait more

Great Sushi 7/20/2008

Peter's is normally very busy, everytime I have been there I have had to wait, but it's well worth it. Well priced and a great variety with fresh ingredients. Highly recommend more

Top Shelf Sushi Bar!!!! 7/20/2008

What a great restaurant! Not the chain atmosphere, but one of family. Beautiful new location with more seating and staff. Our food was outstanding along with the great service. Nice to see Peter and his wife both working and making sure all the customers are well taken care of. Expect to take some time when you go, as you are getting a custom meal made by an artist. So, sit back, relax and enjoy. Best sushi bar in town plus the entrees are outstanding. What are you waiting for???? Pros: Best in Town Cons: A small wait for a custom meal more

Fantastic sushi, super friendly! 7/19/2008

We tried Peter's last week for the first time and we were very impressed! We ordered takeout sushi and the presentation and quality were better than most sit-down places. The staff was so friendly to me and my baby girl. I had heard great things about Peters and will definitely be going back. The amount of sashimi was perfect and the taste was excellent. Despite a water main break that day that affected the entire block of stores, Peter's staff took care of us and presented a wonderful product. Pros: quality, taste, price, friendliness of staff Cons: ambience more

Best Sushi in Town 7/16/2008

I have been a fan of Peter and his fabulous sushi for over ten years. My family was thrilled when he opened his own restaurant and are even more pleased that they have expanded the seating. Peter has watched me graduate high school and college, and now he is molding my daughter into a sushi lover too (she loves octopus). My favorite roll is the Smoothie Roll, and their sashimi is top notch. I love Uni, but it is hard to find it fresh in Nashville. Peter's is always fresh. Peter likes to try new things and always has specials on his board. His new special contains salmon, white tuna, tomatoes, avocado, crunch, spicy sauce, and smelt roe. It is fantastic!!! There is a little bit of a wait, but that is because everyone is eating at Peter's! Come early or put your name on the waiting list and prepare to be amazed at their wonderful menu! Pros: Awesome sushi and Thai, family friendly, family run Cons: You will probably have to wait - but it is worth it! more

Best Sushi in the World!! 7/15/2008

We eat at Peter's Sushi-Thai at least 3 times a week. There has never been a time where we have been disappointed. The fish is ALWAYS fresh! The service is fabulous! Friendly-staff! Peter and his wife (the owners). Always go extra miles to make sure that our food is right and the service is incredible! We highly recommend Peter's Sushi-Thai to people who love sushi and thai food! more

the truth 7/14/2008

i am a sushi fanatic and i have to say that peter is one of the best sushi and sashmi in nashville and on top of that i can enjoy my sashimi and green dragon roll while my picky girlfriend can have her pad thai and red curry together in one place now thats heaven!!!! true somtime they are busy but the waiting is within a reasonable amount of time and the food is always great and the server is always nice and freindly. more

Peters Sushi 7/13/2008

Peter Sushi is the best. Everytime I go I order tuna and salmon and it literally melts in your mouth. Peter uses the best quality fish out there, and even the salmon comes from Scotland. The onions put on certain fish is just like they do in Tokyo, Japan. After visiting Japan several times, the sushi is just like it is there. The service is always great, and I highly recommend it to anyone. Pros: Sushi, Service, Price, Quality more

New Talent!! 7/12/2008

I have tried Peter's sushi a couple of times and thought it was alright and pretty good for Nashville's standard. But the other day when I was there I recognized a sushi chef from when I was in Knoxville. What a shock! He made the best sushi and was very very creative!! I wanted to ask him to make me something from his old menu, but they were super busy as usual and thought not to bother. He always made things I have never seen and not the ordinary california or crunchy shrimp everyone sushi bar has. Who knows maybe they have something in the works....I hope so cuz I miss my Tomo's!!! Yum! more

Peter's? 7/1/2008

I hear good thing about Peter's Sushi. However, It's not as good as I heard. Peter's Sushi? What are you thinking? Miyako is much better and cheaper too. Pros: nice place and friendly services Cons: bad yellowtail more

Once amongst the greatest, but no longer... 6/30/2008

We've been fans of Peter's for the past few years. With the move to the new location next door the food has suffered immensely - maybe the owners no longer do the cooking and just manage the restaurant. The tofu used to be the best I have ever had, now it tastes like it comes from a can. The Fried rice has no substance - where did the plentiful meat go. The only thing that kept it's taste is the basil shrimp - but it has a ton more oil than before. PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD PETERS! Pros: New location is nice... Cons: Food is no longer that good - you can find better sushi and thai food elsewhere in town more

Who make your sushi? 6/17/2008

I have been to Peter's sushi for years. It has always been Great. But reasonly, It's not very good. Food take too long, and not well made. Pros: friendly services Cons: The new chef is not as good as the old chef more

Location is everything here 6/9/2008

The sushi wasn't bad but it wasn't fantastic. The salmon has a weird look and texture to it and they put chives everywhere..... and all in the sushi..... I HATE chives! I've never been to a sushi place where they put chives everywhere like that. The service was VERY friendly. I felt very welcomed. I hear they are moving to a much larger location. That will be nice for them. They do very well here I think because they have amazing service and a great location. But to be honest, the Sushi was just OKAY. I feel like Randy Jackson saying that : ) Pros: Great service. Good miso soup. Good green tea. Cons: I've had much better sushi for this price. more
