We had them check our hot water and flush it, as recommended periodically. Their technician arrived at the time expected, explained what he would do, how long he expected it to take, and did the job. He did what he said, cleaned up and thanked us. I'd call them again if I needed a plumber. more

When Peter was actively managing the business his level of service was excellent. Since new management has assumed responsibility of the business the level of integrity of their service personnel has deteriorated. Their main focus is not on solving problems but to sell the customer the most expensive material and create a more complex job than is required. I so appreciated the many years Peter handled problems at my properties but I have little confidence with them now. They will have to win my confidence again with any future calls but I am calling on competitors to do work as well . more

Peter Levi plumbing came to my house promptly after I called to provide a video line inspection for my main line. They quickly found the culprit for the clog - roots in the sewer line. They gave me a great price to fix it, and quickly took care of the problem. I would recommend these guys to everybody. Let them do the worrying so you don't have to! more

I have been using Peter Levi Plumbing for years, servicing several of my homes in Marin. I have now worked with a handful of their plumbers and have remained impressed with the quality of the work, their knowledge, efficiency and cleanliness. On occasion when a plumbing issue has not been resolved after my appointment, the ladies in the office have done a great job of relaying what will be necessary to complete the project and contacting me to schedule the completion of my work. Though plumbing never seems to come cheap, I have found the pricing to be fair and their estimations accurate. I would highly recommend them as a plumbing company. I am desperate to find a good plumber, at this point my expectations are pretty low. I contacted Peter Levi plumbing weeks in advance, for a bathroom remodel. All I needed was to have the Shower Trim installed. Simple right? We encountered one of the slowest moving plumbers in the universe, who came up with every excuse in the book, found him enjoying our views, and making at least 6 trips to his van and did a lot of scratching his head and blaming the company that sold me the product (trust me, it wasn't the product). The trips to the van for whatever was a bit predictable, how many tools do you need to install the trim? He commented on everything, had to spend a lot of time "thinking," and in my opinion, managed to stretch a 2-3 hour job into 2 days. He ended the first appt. saying he needed to return with new screws, only to use the original screws on his return visit 3 weeks later. They insist on charging by the hour, well, I couldn't stand around watching him for over 6 hours, but I imagine, when my back was turned, our friend the plumber was taking his good old sweet time, letting the clock run. I had him leave early without cleaning up, because I couldn't take it anymore. He felt pretty good about his work, I felt better when he finally left. All in all, it's the same old routine, slow and overpriced...it's a good gig if you can get it. Cheryl was nice on the phone...but like I said, I still need a plumber. My search continues. We had them come out to replace a garbage disposal. The plumber spent about 20 mins trying to fix the one that was there. He couldn't, fine. He then proceeded to take over 2 more hours to put in a new disposal. He had problems with the wiring he said. There are two wires that come out of a junction box. How complicated can that be? The old disposal worked fine (until something got jammed in it). In the end it is to me it is unconscionable to charge $540 to put in a garbage disposal. Especially since they are practically doubling the cost of the disposal itself. When I called and complained about the price. The manager said it took that long to do the job so that is the cost. I would say, you are paid a good rate to be competent to do the job and if you can' t do it in a fair amount of time, either say you can't, or charge a fair amount of money to do it, or find a new profession. Pros: After spending way to much time the job was completed Cons: Charges about twice what it should have cost to do the work more

I have used Peter Levi Plumbing a few times over the past few years. Mainly for troubleshooting and repairs. I have always found the plumbers to be knowledgable, professional, and on time. I have referred them to many friends. I think the thing that I like most about them is that the work is really professionally done and I know that it is done right. Awful experience, poor workmanship, very expensive, 3 return trips to fix faulty installation (still not working), performed work that was not in accordance with building codes. more
