I really enjoy having a local Petco because of their size & variety of pets/pet supplies. However, I have had a few bad experiences at this specific store. The first being that I was scolded by a manager for checking the expiration date on a bag of pet food that I was buying. It seems like expired foods could be as dangerous for pets as they are for humans. Make sure that you check the dates at that store. Another time, there were literally 8 dead bettas & the water looked like it hadn't been changed in days. Lastly, they sell "painted glass fish" which are a see-through tetra that are artificially dyed to give them different colors such as pink, purple, and orange. They may be calling them by another name. Most of the dying methods are cruel and can cause serious side effects including a very short life span. more

My kids call PetCo the "mouse store" because of the mice and gerbils toward the front. That's the one thing they remember most about PetCo. \r \r PetCo offers a huge selection of pet supplies, accessories, food, toys and more. They also sell fish and birds as well as mice and gerbils. They have a grooming service inside the store and your pets are encouraged to shop with you!\r \r Some of the items are over priced and can be found cheaper elsewhere. But the overall store and service are second to none. Always helpful and friendly staff. more

Petco Animal Supplies 6/2/2005

Well stocked and has extremely good customer service. The dog grooming however, seems to be by newly trained and not an experienced staff. The prices are sometimes higher than grocery stores for product I purchase on a regular basis. PROS: Clean store and helpful staff. CONS: Always very hot inside. more
