Worst Office Manager Ever 6/5/2014

Sadly, after a long and wonderful relationship with Pet Menders we are taking our dogs and our business elsewhere because of Heather, the "office manager". My small dog sustained a back injury and was seen at Pet menders for exam and x-rays, and I scheduled a follow up for Thursday, my only day off during the week. I arrive on Thursday at 10 (the appointment I scheduled), Rosey in my arms, who is crying and in pain. I go to the front desk to check in and Heather tells me your appointment was yesterday. I explain to her that Thursdays are my only day off, I only schedule appointments on Thursdays. I was told the girl who scheduled my appointment must have made a mistake, sorry, but we're busy and can't help you. I said I have an appointment for now, your front office made a mistake, my dog is obviously in pain and needs to be seen. Her response was I said I was sorry you can come back some other time or I can refer you elsewhere. I explained that I had other Dr's appointments today and lived 30 minutes away, I can't come back another time and WHY would I want to be referred elsewhere, this is my dogs doctor’s office. Her response was I said I'm sorry, that's all I can do, so like I said you can come back another time or be referred elsewhere. I asked to speak with the doctor and was told that he was with a patient and could not be bothered (without even checking mind you). Now, here I am, with my poor little dog, injured, in excruciating pain, shaking and crying, without a doctor's visit. I called Pet Menders upset and I start telling her how upset and unhappy I am with the uncompassionate treatment I received and she informs me that she I discussed the situation with another client and....wait..what? You discussed me with a stranger? Woah. Running out of typing space so.......Obviously at this point I can no longer trust Pet Menders with the health and safety of my pets, in my opinion, they no longer provide the Five Star care they once did. Weird how one bad hire can ruin a great place! Go elsewhere!! more

Worst Receptionist 9/18/2012

Was a client for years but must have run into the nightmare part time receptionist the other two reviewers had. Treated me like something on the bottom of her shoe. Constistantly unbelievably rude, inconsiderate, irrational, uncooperative and if this is what they have instructed her to act like well Good Ridance to this vet hospital. Too bad, they seemed good. Last time she was so unbelievably obnoxiously rude, I made a comment and was told never to return. Their loss I have many pets. Seems like she must still be there or perhaps they instruct all their part time receptionist to act like Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Lost the piper fund but have my dignity. Be prepared to be treated like slime if you run into her. Tell your pets to get sick or vaccinated when she's not in. more

ah yes, the perfect vet practice 10/17/2005

We started in Ed Fuller's practice13 years ago (!) within his first month of opening PetMenders and were immediately very, very pleased. Originally I was attracted to the practice because it was close to my home, and I wanted to support a vet who also has the means, via the Piper Memorial, to treat pets of low income people. I've stayed with them because Dr. Fuller is smart, personable and thorough. Dr. Todd Russell joined the practice somewhat recently and we have been equally impressed by him. If the vet isn't familiar with a treatment I've heard about elsewhere, they both encourage us to try new things, and get back to them with our results. Dr. Fuller does acupuncture which was very helpful to my geriatric, arthritic dog. Recently our dear dog became very ill, very suddenly and both vets were understanding and helpful and worked with us and our wishes to have her at home for her last night to see if she could rally. Dr. Fuller listened to us about euthanising her and was compassionate when we did so. We miss our pooch and know the staff does too. I highly recommend these guys for dogs, cats, lagamorphs (bunnies), rodents- don't know about birds, so call and ask. more
