Pet Mania

Every time I have gone into this store to get information I get a different answer. I'm sure someone who works here is knowledgeable, however I have yet to find that person. You'd be better off getting your information online. The dog food prices are reasonable but everything else is extremely high!! They seem to like to argue with their customers, it always seems like they always are when I'm in there. I've found another small pet store in huntersville with good prices, kind and knowledgeable staff. I'll be going there... Avoid this store!‎ \r I bought an expensive item there that didnt work out. I was told at the time of purchase I had 30 days to return it, but when I brought it back after 11 days they would only give me a store credit. I was unhappy, but with no options, I thought Id buy food with the credit (lots and lots of food). They dont carry the brand my pet eats, but offered to order it for me so I agreed. And their price? .... 40% MORE than what I usually pay! This is a scam outfit. \r more

I went to Pet Mania as I had just adopted a dog and the place recommended them. I had the dog with me and told the salesgirl she was a year old and is supposedly a full grown.\r I got help with picking out dog food and the girl was very pleasant. I then said I needed a crate. I thought maybe the size I needed was 24"". Now I had the dog with me so she could see her size. There was no display of the cages assembled so I couldnt preview the size. Now as I am checking out with food, treats, dog bowl, and cage the salesgirl said if she doesnt like the food , bring it back and we will exchange it. Ok I thought. She said nothing else. I got home and didnt unpack the dog crate till the next day. I tried the dog in it and thought it was too small. The next day I packed up the crate back in the box and brought it to the store with the receipt.. When asked when I purchased it , I said late Thursday. A sales associate in the store said it is North Carolina law that we cant take crates back after 24 hours. What???. I said,"" I used it to test her out in it and I wanted the bigger one. I paid 52.00 and now I cant exchange it. The girl told me about the food exchange but never said a word about the crate"" I looked at my receipt and it stated 30 day return policy. How many of us look thoroughly at the receipts? I saw at the very bottom the policy on the crates. The salesgirl should have told me that. I will not be shopping at Pet Mania again.\r I went to Pet Smart yesterday and asked them about such a policy and he said there was no law he was aware of regarding the crates. He even offered to take back the crate I had purchased even though it wasnt theirs. Now that is a good store. I will be using Pet Smart from now on. more

This place is awesome. The owner, Kristy, is very interested in your pets and will go the extra step for whatever you need. She found a dog toy that has been discontinued by the manufacturer and I was unable to locate it. The staff was pleasant and the prices very comparable to the ""big box"" pet stores. If you think your pets deserve special attention, visit Pet Mania. their birds are very well socialized and friendly. You can go in on any given day and find that they have some cute birds out on a tree in the middle of the store. They ask that you use their hand sanitizer before handling them, but this gives you the opportunity to see how you like the animal before you bring it home. They are a little pricey on the toy selection, and the selection is somewhat limited due to the space of the store, but the level of animal love and care is evident.
