I was so pleasantly surprised when I took my old Subaru (2003) to Performance. I never had, fearing they (a dealership) would be high priced for services and parts that I could get elsewhere for less. But with a part-specific issue, I figured why waste time going to a generic mechanic who would have to scout for parts. Turns out the Performance people run a fair, honest shop, didn't even charge me for labor to solve the problem, and meanwhile cleaned up the engine and did the free 27-point check up to get a feel for the car's health. I came away with the mighty bill of $2.67 for the part--when I feared they'd pad that bill with all kinds of things they'd done or even fairly for the labor invested. Not true! They have an excellent waiting room, super shuttle service and nice drivers to take you back and forth to work, friendly nice people and are well organized. They have won me over!
