Gone way down hill 7/24/2011

We have come here several times over the years and tonight was the last. It took 40 min. just to get out appetizer. The app. was the reason we came here, it used to be so good. It was the crab stuffed Portabella mushroom in a pastry shell. Now the crab mixture is mostly cream cheese and the pastry was skimpy and under cooked. My husband ordered the Red snapper with a bread crumb coating. It was so salty it was impossible to eat. I ordered the chicken marsala and the chicken was like leather. We sent them both back and our waitress came back and said that the real cook apologizes, it was made by a new cook? he remade them both and we took them home. The Snapper was better but not great and the chicken was still tough. And I think the prices are high. 17.00 for the chicken and 20.00 for the snapper. more

Special dinner my eye! 5/23/2010

Peppino's has always been a place we love to go, until last Sat night. We decided to go out on Sat for Valentines dinner, I made a reservation for 2 and I specifically asked for a""corner table"" so to have a somewhat romantic & private experience. We promptly arrived at 6:00pm to find the restaurant very busy. When being escorted to our table I reminded the hostess of my request. She sighed and said she did not have any corner tables and would another be ok. I said that would be fine as long as it was not in the middle of the room. Our server Erin greeted us and told us of the dinner specials, and we placed our order shortly after. The ""special"" was a pasta dish with a spicy marinara sauce with a variety of seafood in the sauce, topped off with a 1 pound lobster. Our order arrived and what I found in front of me was an overcooked dried up lobster split down the middle with barely any seafood in the sauce. I proceeded to ""twirl"" my spaghetti with my fork and spoon as all italians do and what got was short overcooked eggnoodles. I was so upset, I complained to our server, she apologized but that was it!! I expected a manager to come to our table to find out what the complaint was and nothing!! Then the bill came.....the ""special dinner"" was $36. I was shocked!! We paid for our dinner then left with no intentions of returning! The food is average the management, terrible and the price for what you get OUTRAGIOUS!! Cons: everything else more

Best Garlic Breadsticks 3/2/2010

I doubt the deserts are homemade. If they are, they are kept in the refrigerated case way past shelf life. The last time we were there, I ordered desert and requested a they take it back. We were given a credit, but unfortunately the desert my wife took home that evening to eat later was also past it's tasty life. Pros: Entrees Cons: Deserts more

Great Quality At a Reasonable Price 11/23/2009

First some context: I grew up enjoying homemade Italian foood made by relatives born in Italy and lived in NYC for 25 years. This place is the real deal and could successfully compete with Italian restaurants in Little Italy in NYC. The Chef (Fortunato) prepares a variety of unique sauces and dishes worty of a 5-star restaurant, yet there are no entrees priced over $20! The owner and the staff make you feel like a guest at their home for Sunday dinner. This is the way an Italian restaurant is supposed to be - the opposite of the pre-packaged ""Olive Garden"" experience. Pros: Exceptional Italian Food! Cons: There are none. more

5 Star dining at a reasonable price 8/26/2008

Peppion?s Restaurant is the best Italian food in East Orlando. The restaurant has a lot of ambiance and the food is fantastic. I especially prefer Italian restaurants that are authentic and old worldly which is exactly what Peppino?s is. What is also great about this place is you can go out for a very nice dinner with great service and wonderful food and pay no more than you would at the Macaroni Grill! It is a much better value for the money than Macaroni Grill, Olive Garden, Carabas, or any of those big chain restaurants. Pros: The Service is great! The food is delicions! The ambiance is warm and intimate. Cons: There honestly isn't anything I can say bad about this place. more

Not so good 6/22/2008

We visited this restaurant over the week and were disappointed. Portions were skimpy and quality of all of our entrees was less than average. Hostess was friendly, but our waiter's attitude was stern and spartan.\r \r The building needs some serious renovation, particularly the restrooms. more

Best Italian Food you can find 4/21/2008

I must say this is a place to try. My husband and I went to Peppino's on 4/18/08. From outside it doesn't seem like much. But once inside it's so amazingly beautiful. Friendly wait staff and the owner greeted us as we entered and left. \r Come hungry, their plates are very large. The taste is the best I've had in a long time. Very large selection of entrees and desserts. I have not idea what the other reviewer was talking about in the sense of desserts. They have over 10 different options. And their prices are very good. I think I ordered the most expensive item and that was $16.99 I must say I will order that again too. It was so big, that I had to take a box home and then, my daughter and husband and I ate out of the left-overs.\r Great place to eat. Very highly recommend. Pros: Service, Ambience, Food!!! Cons: Can't find one more

Best Italian dishes and wine. 7/17/2007

There's a huge variety of dishes, from pasta, seafood, chicken, and veal. Each dessert was homemade and the service was great. Pros: Selection, service Cons: Some dishes were a little high priced more
