I've had the pleasure of dining there three times. They change their menu seasonally to reflect what is available in the region and they do an outstanding job of it. We look forward to the next season change so we can go again. It is the only place in the area where even the salad is something unexpected and great every time. Their attention to detail is evident from start to finish, including putting any food you can't finish in foil packages shaped into swans or some other inventive thing. An elegant, romantic place to dine 6/4/2005

The Pepper Sprout is perhaps the most elegant, romantic restaurant in Dubuque. If you're looking for an alternative to the more traditional steak and seafood restaurants and supper clubs, this is it. The dining area is narrow but deep, with a high, tin-covered ceiling and muted lighting. The menu is eclectic and changes regularly. Service is friendly, prompt, and professional.
