Had the surgery... wanted to be able to not wear glasses for distance. Knew I would have to wear readers after the surgery. No one told me about the distance at arms length being ...

Long wait! 10/23/2009

Went to Dr. Pepose's associate with my mom. My mom had a very thorough examination and it seems that the equipment is state of the art. Very happy with the service so far. Pros: The testing was thorough & the nurse/receptionists were nice Cons: Very long wait... 4 hours more

I am so scarred of this place. 9/16/2009

This place scares me to death. Pepose Vision on Clarkson in Chesterfield Mo. They seems to talk down to their clients. I would not have been there except that I can not read. They told me that if they fixed it so I could read that my good distant vision would then be BAD and that would Charge me ALOT of money to get WORSE. Not only that , the VERY Expensive procedure would have to be redone in a few years. Before I even came in , the patient coordinator lied to me and said that there was not exam fee and that he would take care of me. He never took care of me and the female coordinator said that I would have to pay and she would talk to the staff member about this. Like that really helps. He also lied to me about the price and said that it was $500 PER EYES less than it actually was. The actual cost is about $ 6.500 and all the other related cost like being forced to have expensive yearly exams and future procedure. The place seemed very disorganized in a chaotic environment. All this and they will even tell you that your vision would be worse and that you will need glasses still. I can spend 25.00 at Walgreens and forget this madness. Pros: They get rich Cons: My eye site gets worse. Expensive more

Horrible Customer Service. Expensive. Blindness 7/20/2009

I had to call in 6 times to find a staff member that could even operate the phone that she was on. All I wanted is information. They seemed clueless and seem to know nothing. All they could do is transfer and disconnect. I did finally that the procedure is about $7000.00 and the only ones that I know that have had this done. are worse.PEPOSE LASER CENTER IN MY OPINION IS A SCAM AND THEY HIRE IGNORANT PEOPLE TO SET AS MANY APPOINTMENTS AS POSSIBLE TO PAY FOR THAT EXPENSIVE BUILDING. Pros: They get rich from your need Cons: Your vision may ge worse. The staff seems so unknowlesgable more

getting worried 5/27/2009

i had lasik in april and have not seen clearly since. I knew something was wrong when i sat up and everything was blurry. i have been back 4 times tried a few different contacts but they dont help.I have haze in both eyes and bad night vision halos, glare. I have not been able to enjoy anything since. hopefully in time things will get better. Pros: has a great reputation Cons: lasik outcome was not good more

doesn't repsond 4/27/2009

Have entered my info into the ""set an appointment' section for a consultaion 3 different times in the past month. Not once have they called. I also see OLD ads on the news channels websites with month old dates for seminars. I am shocked as he came highly recommend by my friend who used him for his surgery. The more I think about it, he must not need business......and i am NOW going to search elsewhere for my lasik. I also saw where the one lady was seen by an optomitrist, heck I might as well stay at Clarkson for that. I think I will check out their lasik surgery center in Chesterfield. maybe they will respond to me! Pros: was highly recommended Cons: they wont answer the set an appointment on their website more

Terrible!!! 3/4/2009

My mother drove almost 30 miles for her appointment with Dr. Pepose and was seen by an OPTOMETRIST!!!! She could have gone to Lens Crafters for that! Now, she is changing ""doctors,"" (she's going where they only employ MDs), and Pepose is charging her a $19.31 administrative fee and a $0.46 per sheet photocopying fee - payable in advance - to transfer her medical records. They will even charge her if she picks them up. Outrageous. I would NEVER be seen by this shameless self-promoter. Pros: Can't think of one Cons: Had an appt with Pepose and was seen by an optometrist more

Bad customer service 5/5/2008

Had Lasek procedure there four years ago which went well. But now that you have ""perfect"" vision, you must continue to have annual exams to maintain the ""vision for life"" agreement which gets you discounted corrective procedures should you need them in the future. This arrangement forced me to get an eye exam during a time when I did not have health insurance. I declared that I was ""self-pay"" at check in, had the exam, paid and left. A few weeks later, have been billed a ludicris amount for a ""procedure"" (I hope you can sense my sarcasm) done during the exam which the doc asked me if I wanted without ever acknowledging that there would be additional cost. I called to try and resolve but was met only with condescension by the billing manager. Apparently, they have to pay for their fancy, new building somehow. After being a loyal customer for these past years, I will never go back and will instruct my friends who ask about my laser surgery to steer clear. Pros: Dr. Pepose is a talented surgeon Cons: support staff leaves much to be desired more
