The most awful service I have received since I have been driving !!!!!! I went to Pep Boys for a major tune up and they did as I asked and was very happy with the service until I was called back to the garage by a tech and they said the tune up was not the problem ! It was told to me that my motor was running rough because I needed an intake manifold gasket put on ! But before I decided the truck stall in the middle of the road so after getting it started I hurry up and drove it to them and told them okay to do the procedure ! I Once again I asked them this will stop my truck from stalling in the middle of the road and a yes was answered to me ! Then i asked about the vibration stopping and once again the answer was a yes ! I receive a call that my truck was ready and to come and pick it up and when I get their someone decided to put other things on my truck ! So I stopped that because no one had called me to authorize the other projects ! So now nearly paying Pep Boys a thousand d more

But it was not alright because my motor was still running rough ! So that evening I drove the truck and the truck stalls in the road at night one car to the left , right , behind me and in front of me ! Thank God no car hit me and no one was hurt ! I had to push my truck to the side and leave it their until the next morning ! Took the truck to another shop and it was told to me that I needed a distributor ,motor mounts to stop the vibration , and a carburetor to stop my motor from being so rough ! I really believe Pep Boys tried to cover up their mistake ! If i did not get the call and got their early they would have put and carburetor on and I would have never known about the big mistake ! The charge would have been so high that I would have never been able to get my truck back !!! It never needed an intake manifold gasket job !!!!!!! more

I love my Pep Boys in Madison,TN. I always find what I need thanks to the employees! It's so refreshing going to a store and then employees actually know what they are talking about!!! Richard Colley I believe is one of the managers. Let me just tell you, he is awesome! He's always helping out at the service counter when I come in. If one person is standing in line not being helped Richard makes sure they get fast service! Excellent store! Keep it up guys! more

My wife and I broke down near Madison, TN on the interstate. The wrecker driver just happened to know of a place to tow us. It ended up being Pepboys. I had seen the occassional commercial, so we thought what the heck. MAN, talk about a rip off. We asked for enough repairs to get it back to our hometown. It seems water from a leaking hose was spraying on the ""timing belt gasket cover"". So, after it was over I had all new belts put on, a thermo$tat, an oil change... everything but the tires rotated. Total cost of repairs: $1,495.82. I took the complete register receipt and all the parts replaced to my mechanic at home. It seemed they did use about $100 in parts, but the remaining totaled about $500 more that what they should have been. I called the corporate and they referred me back to Madison, who referred me back to corporate, who then, well... you get the picture. My last conversation was with Richard, the local manager.. ""You are not going to get a refund.""\r I know we have no choice of where we break down, but even if someone local reads this and heeds the warning, I hope they do not go there for car repairs!\r Thank you,\r Steve Lamb\r Brazil, IN more

they are a scam. drove car there after they check it car wouldn't move had to tow it to another mechanics. save ur money and time. car runs good.. they said something else would have went wrong right away if i didn't fix it and been driving car for six month in and out of state with no problem. more

I have never in the 17 years that I have owned cars had as awful an experience as I have at this Pep Boys. They tried to over charge me, tacked on extended warranty and only when I reviewed the charges did I see it. The intial toal was $562.00 after reviewing the bill the new total was $403.00 big difference. The customer service was seriously lacking, I was left on hold, disconnected at one point. Told they ordered the wrong part and the right one was conviently $40 more. They are the typical shady auto mechanic. What a nightmare experience!!!!! I wouldn't even give it one star. Avoid at ALL costs. more
