Pep Boys

I went to Pep Boys in Aliso Viejo this morning knowing that I needed new spark plugs. Of cousre I was ignored for the standard amount of time before someone even said "I'll be right with you." I was then informed that I had to first pay $89.00 for an engine diagnostic after telling them that the proplem had already been diagnosed by another company. Then they wanted labor and plug money. just a guess but I'd say minimum $160.00 out the door.\r \r I then hear man say he needs a battery installed.... no problem. Why would they not need to diagnose his car? Maybe it's not his battery at all? Maybe I know nothing about cars because I am a woman?\r \r I talk to the manager, he did not care. I bought 4 spark pugs for $7.46 and took my car to Ray's Auto Tech in Laguna Niguel where they installed the plugs for under $50.00 and my car is running like new. \r \r This woman stormed out of pep boys $100.00 richer and was right!!!! Honest mechanics are not working at Pep Boys more

Horrible. Forgot to tighten lug nuts on front wheel. Installed struts wrong. Never told me about error codes. Lost keys. The service people are nice, but the company could care less about customer service or quality. Do not use service center for anything. Better off going to a shade tree mechanic. Would give zero stars if possible. more

Went in for a simple oil change. The next morning, I checked under the car and saw an oil stain on my driveway. Got under the car and found the oil pan drain bolt to be less than finger tight. I got my wrench and tightened it. Can't believe that they can't even do an oil change right. Now I go elsewhere for oil changes. more

TERRIBLE. Called early a.m. was given an APPOINTMENT for my smog ck at 3pm told it would take 45 min. arrived 15 min early for paperwork and the clerk "Mike" proceeded to try to help other people in line BEHIND me rather than check me in. When he finally waddled around to helping me, it was past my appt. time and he told me it would take at LEAST 1 1/2 hours, double the time I was quoted, since I had to work, I had to leave and it ruined my whole schedule as now I have to set this up for yet another day. TERRIBLE service more

The first time I stopped they told me that it would take 3-4 hours for an oil change (that is right apparently their oil changes are that popular)I came back the day I was off at 11 am I was told the same story this time I did waitAfter a movie and some walking(with my 2 year old boy BTW) I came back at 1:30 pm and after a 15 min wait(they where too busy to acknowledge me) I noticed that my car was still not serviced since I had to pick up my daughter from school at 2:05 I told the guy to cancel the job A second guy comes over and tells me that the car was indeed serviced I smiled and told him that he was wrong He insisted and since I was late I decided to pay now and check later The original guy comes out after I already payed him and tells me that the car was not serviced (you could tell where this is going) My money was return and a "sorry man" was all I got after 3 hours of waiting In a few words costumer service sucks (again they are too busy to even say I will be with you shortly more

i would never get my car serviced at pep boys. but i have gone here many times for parts, tools and supplies. the store is clean. the people are semi-helpful. PROS: clean CONS: not as good a selection of tools as sears more

maybe not the friendliest service i've ever received, but sometimes that's not always what you're looking for. if you want to just go in, go out, and get your car serviced, then pep boys is the place for you. but if you're looking for some consultation, advice, or assistance, then go elsewhere. more

I had some work done here at Pep Boys in Aliso VIejo. I had to take the car back 4 times and it still wasn't right. I had to file a complaint with my Credit Card to get my money back. I took the car somewhere else where it was done right.. the first time! more
