As a 25 year smoker, hypnosis has by far been the easiest method of quitting permanently. I have no desires of any kind to smoke. I have this feeling like I was never a smoker, therefore, I don't have the associated desires. I would highly recommend this program to anyone with the desire to quit smoking. more

I had a severe phobia of needles, blood and hospitals before coming to PA Hypnosis Center. I was unable to speak about needles of see them without fainting. I tried anti-anxiety meds which did not make a difference. After seeing Dan Vitchoff and being hypnotized I have been completely relaxed and am now working in the medical field. I have struggled with a weight problem since I was a child. I have tried many weight loss programs to some success but have always gained my weight back. Something always seemed to be missing. I heard of Dr. Vitchoff long before I made an appointment. I guess I finally made up my mind thinking this was a last resort. I have tried to quit smoking at least half a dozen times, obviously unsuccessfully. This time, I'm done. I have not had the usual physical cravings for nicotine. I have been able to be around others who smoke in a social setting and have not been tempted to have a cigarette. I have not had to walk away. At other times when I have tried to quit, when life gets stressful, I would pick up a cigarette and start the nasty cycle again. Right now, my job is very stressful. They may eliminate my position and my mother's breast cancer has returned. I do not need a cigarette. I can handle it. I thank Dan and my husband and family do, too. I've always said, ""I'll quit smoking three days after they cremate me."" Well, surprise...started to really think about cigarettes...1. nasty habit, can't go out to eat, can't go to the movies, can't fly anywhere...2. Wow! $3,000 a year, literally up in smoke...3. Cigarettes controlled me; I had no control over them. What a way to live. I fell I've tried everything: gum-tastes awful; the patch-extremely allergic to it; Wellbutrin and Chantix-my kids thought I'd lost my mind and told me to go back to smoking; cold turkey, sure that works (sarcastic0; group hypnosis-lasted a couple days. I convinced myself nothing would ever work but really did not want to be dependent on cigarettes anymore so I called PA Hypnosis Center. Total skeptic I was. Wanted it to work but really didn't believe in it, so I handed over the money and made a promise that I would never smoke again...MY LAST CIGARETTE WAS JULY 29, 2011 AT 3:45 PM. I have no desire to ""light up"". Many family and friends smoke around me and I don't care. The smell does not make me want to have one nor seeing others smoke have any affect on me. I am glad to be a non-smoker. My boyfriend still smokes and is really impressed with my success. I have no urge to smoke even in the car when we go out together. I wish all issues in life could be resolved this easily. The staff has been great and made me feel comfortable from my first visit. After working with Dan Vitchoff at PA Hypnosis Center I have lost 22 pounds and it was very easy. When I go to restaurant I now ask for double veggies instead of a veggie and potato. I love grilled chicken and fish. I am eating smaller portion sizes and I don't eat at night anymore. I went in with an open mind, they did give me a food list but explained that it was just to give me an idea of what kinds of foods my body would be craving after my hypnosis sessions so that I could make sure I was prepared. They were right. I started craving lots of vegetables, grilled chicken and fish and high fiber cereals. These foods are all very satisfying for me now and I really don't crave the sweets and junk foods at all anymore. Dan Vitchoff took time with me, he was always very courteous and caring and he individualized the program specifically for me. more

I went to PA Hypnosis Center to help me reduce stress and anxiety. I am very impressed by how quickly I was able to let go of the stress and anxiety. In the introductory session (before I had paid any money), Mr. Vitchoff talked a lot about a 'personalized' plan. He spent quite a bit of time asking me about my eating habits, and what I hoped to achieve through hypnosis. I explained that he didn't have to hypnotize me to stop eating junk food or to eat more vegetables, because those are not my problems. I already eat lots of vegetables, and I like them. I don't eat junk food or soda pop. I cook real food and don't eat processed food. I told him that my problem is controlling portion size. I said I'd like hypnosis to help me be able to stop eating such large portions. He replied that he understood, that he recommended the plan with 5 sessions for $399. In retrospect, he probably 'recommends' this plan to everyone. There is no 'personalized plan.' In the first session, he actually stayed in the room with me. And I believe he succeeded in hypnotizing me. But I remember that the first thing he talked about was 'imagine a plate of vegetables, green and brimming with vitamins.' Exactly what I told him I did NOT need. At the second session, I repeated my request for him to talk to me about portion control. He again said he understood. I put on the earphones and eye mask, and he began to talk to me, rather hurriedly, about eating less food. Then I heard a click as the tape was switched on, and another click as the door opened and he left the room. And the tape started talking about a big plate of vegetables, green and brimming with vitamins. On the way out, the receptionist gave me some protein bars and a list of foods. I'm sure that 100% of the patients know that carrot sticks are better for you than potato chips. They're all at the hypnosis center because they haven't been able to follow those rules on their own. I did NOT need a list of foods. I needed what he said he could provide: a 'mind set' to succeed in eating less. I did not return for my remaining sessions. I know I should have read the fine print more carefully (my guess is that the fine print does say he'll play prerecorded tapes). Probably most of Mr. Vitchoff's patients are like me: they hope that hypnosis will accomplish what their willpower won't. I feel very foolish. Should have known better! more

Do yourself a favor and find some audio tapes to listen to!! That's all you will get from Mr. Vitchoff. He doesn't hypnotize you... all he does is have you listen to audio tapes. I found the same one that he had me listen to at my first visit on Amazon. I am having numerous panic attacks every day and was desperate to find someone who could help me. When you complain, he will ignore your calls and when you do get to talk to him, he becomes mean and vicious. He is a con man preying on those of us that are desperate to find help!! I filed a complaint with the BBB but it doesn't even show up when you review his business. more

I was very disappointed with PA Hypnosis Center. My first appoinment included time with individual hypnosis and I experienced results with a decrease appitite. Dan said it worked by rewiring the brain regarding food and exercise. After that I listened to tapes and when I expressed concern because I was having more cravings I was repeatly asked what I was eating and given food lists. I know what I need to eat it is doing it that is the problem. When I asked about the 98% guarentee I was told they would keep working with me. But after 9 months I had gained weight not lost it. Very expensive with no results. I believed it would work and believed Dan - What a disappointment! more

I asked several times on the phone if the program would be personalized and that I wouldn't be left in the room with a CD playing- and they reassured me that wouldn't be the case. After paying the expensive $400 for the program I found that was exactly the case! Save your money and buy a hypnosis cd online and listen to it- much cheaper and that is all that you get at the center! more

I have to admit I was skeptical and I did all of the research. I thought about going to a group session then I ran into a girl in the grocery store that told me her mom lost over 100 pounds at PA Hypnosis Center. My goal was to lose 30 pounds and I have now lost over 42. I didn't even think it was possible. I love going shopping now. I haven't eaten french fries, fast foods or pizza in months. I don't even miss them. I think Dan Vitchoff and Catie Dolgos probably are the best hypnotherapists in the world! I can not thank them enough! more

I researched too. Live in Fl in winter and Pittsburgh in summer. I was hypnotized by Dan last year and very pleased that I chose him. I chose Vitchoff because he was really credentialed. He doesn't lie about having a degree or about being a member in good standing or the Hypnosis credentialing organizations.He uses multi-phase approach. His style and process worked for me. Ok, so I've done all of the research and I have to admit I was skeptical about hypnosis because I went to a group session in Wexford and it was a total joke. A friend of mine told me about Dan Vitchoff and PA Hypnosis Center and that she knew a lot of people who went there and were really happy. To make a long story short, Dan Vitchoff is Wonderful! He's not judgmental at all and he helped me lose 50 pounds! I never felt like it was a struggle!! I went from a size 20 to a size 14!!!!! I strongly recommend Dan Vitchoff and PA Hypnosis Center to anyone in the Pittsburgh Area!!!!!! more

I am not pleased with the results, after 5 mons of therapy I have not lost a pound. The sessions are too far apart, there is very limited interaction with Dan. He does not talk to you about what you are doing right and what you could change. He just comes in puts in a CD and leave the room. Too much money for no reaults. I will not return for my last 3 sessions. more

I thought I would never quit smoking and here I am now a non-smoker! more
