My new favorite hotel with a view 6/24/2010

I have been here for a French Tuesdays event plus a work event. I haven't had the chance to stay yet, but when I have friends from out of town come in I'll refer them here. The bar on the top is amazing. Pros: Restaurant and cocktails rock more

GREAT SERVICE ...GREAT FOOD 4/24/2009

I had a recent trip to L.A and decided to stop into RH for dinner with friends from town . After going to many "Hollywood hot spots" I really wasn't looking foward to another fine dinning snooty restaurant....I have to tell you I was pleasantly surprised. RH was great . It was beautiful inside. They have one of the finest open kitchens I have ever seen even though we sat in the cocktail area. The restaurant was just beautiful. We loved our server Chelsea. She was awesome she really seemed to know her stuff and helped us design our on meals with the create a meal menu they offer.(which is genius because I went with some very picky eaters) We had soo much fun with her. She definitly went above and beyond our expectations. We also fell in love with the bartender ..I didn't catch her name but she had long brown curly hair. She too was welcoming and fun, we'd go back to the bar for them, absolulty . The drinks were really fun too, one of my friends is still talking about the some vodka blueberry specialty drink. They have a kind of rock n roll theme to the specialty drinks . As for me , I love gin but never had Hendricks until our server explained it ...now I'm off sapphire and hooked on the other . I think this place is definitly worth checking out. The food is phenomenal . I recommend having fun creating your own meal. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection ...The whole thing was fabulous. A lot of love to the chef. Pros: amazing service . Not typical fine dining Cons: only bottled ca beers. more

Great Food - Cool Spot 4/22/2009

I would consider myself a bit of a food snob. My girlfriend proclaims daily that I obsess over the quality of the meal, the service and over all atmosphere of a place - "this isn't your last meal!!" she reminds me. Pros: Great cocktails!! Cons: Deciding what entre to have, there are so many good ones! more

great food, great ambiance 3/31/2009

I ate here about a week ago and I have to say I was really impressed with the food AND the service. Our server explained the menu- I particularly liked that I could pick a protein and whatever sides I wanted to go with it. The filet was perfectly cooked and the artichoke and spinach side was delicious. I also tasted the appetizers that others in my party ordered and everything was tasty. Good wine list and full bar. The bar scene was hopping- I would definitely go back for happy hour or a low key evening out with friends for drinks and dinner. My only complaint was that it was a bit noisy in the dining area- sometimes was hard to hear eachother speak. Pros: food, drinks, waitstaff, hip environment Cons: parking, dining area noisy more

great new restaurant 1/17/2009

This is a new restaurant on Sunset, right next to Saddle Ranch. The food is both excellent and creative. Prepared entrees are available, but the appeal of the place is that you can create your dish. You pick the meat / fish, the sauce, and the vegetables, and the chef creates your meal. The prepared side dishes were surprisingly good too. Pros: Excellent food, service Cons: Parking more

User review by ladidiner83 9/29/2005

I thought that since I had hear so much about it that I would try it out. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. A friend had a birthday dinner there and they were not very attentive to our large group of 20 people. It was very disorganized and the food is a small selection and honestly don't go for the food. There are other better restraunt that serve dim-sum. But if you must check it out for namesake, the bar is quite nice and a nice place to start an evning or end it but not eat at. Cons: Food, Service more

ncie l.a. bar/restaurant 8/12/2005

the place looks great, they've put a lot of money into it. i'd recommend sitting somewhere "outside" (it's semi-covered). basically you just order a bunch of dim-sum and have drinks. celebs show up sometimes, but the place is nice to hang out in regardless. nice for out-of-towners and large parties. more

I lost my Chi 7/31/2005

The entire experience was horrible!!! The grease-stained printer paper menus, the unimpressive food, unpleasant waitstaff. The whole night was one disaster after another. It does not live up to the name. The food did not compliment the menu discription. I do not recommend going here. I'm not even glad I tried it once. Pros: the decor Cons: the food, the staff, the atmosphere more

what a rip - this passes for good? 7/1/2005

I'm sorry - I have to line up with those that thought this place wasn't worth the hype. We had a party of 11 last night, and first they couldn't figure out how to set up the table. The waitress was pleasant enough, until she spilled a drink on me, and I had to clean it up. The food was merely average - the lobster sui mai came in some weird brothy sauce - not necessary - I would have sent it back, but who knows what would have come out. Oh, and they don't serve dim sum anymore - someone alert the gossip pages. Cons: pricey, service, menu tries too hard more

Loved it! 3/20/2005

My best friend and I had dinner at Chi on Saturday. It was so great! Service was great and the food was delicious. We met the owners Art and Allan, and they are also great. Art sat with us for our dinner and bought us a couple drinks....Tons of fun at Chi, would definately go again! Pros: Food, Service, Fun more

A wonderful experience 3/5/2005

I have eaten at Chi on three occasions over the past eight months and have had a great experience each time. The service was prompt, attentive, and polite. The food was delicious. On my first visit I had grilled diver scallops, which were superb. On subsequent visits the halibut and lobster became favorites. My daughter chose Chi for her 18th birthday dinner and loved the shrimp toast and lobster potstickers. I have had the warm chocolate soufflé cake three times and hope it remains on the menu so that I can enjoy it again in the future. The prices aren't cheap, but certainly compare to any in Chicago or DC and are far less than most in NYC. Pros: Food, Service, Ambience more

The Good and Bad 1/30/2005

Chi has a great location, ambiance, and drinks. That's about it. The food and services was mediocre "for a talk of the town" restaurant. For drinks and people watching, this is the place to go; if you want a great overall restaurant experience, go somewhere else. Pros: drinks Cons: crowded more

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE 11/16/2004

I tried this place the first time and the food was horrible. Not packed at all just a dull, boring place. Was willing to go back because Brent Bolthouse was having afterhours there. CHI'S CALLED ME AN HOUR BEFORE MY RESERVATION and cancelled. I asked why and they said, "We needed to give your table to someone else"! I had my reservation two weeks before. They are rude, horrible people. Don't waste your time! BORING, OVERPRICED! Rude staff a bunch of WANNA BE ACTORS! GET A LIFE! Cons: , RUDE, PATHETIC more

FOUND MR. GOODBAR 10/23/2004

Normally don't write reviews, but I brought a date to Chi last night and had a great time. We sat at the table for a while enjoying the atmosphere and didn't feel rushed like some other restaurants. The food was better than most Asian places, the drinks were good, the waiter knew when to check on us and when to leave us alone. Overall, it was a great night out. Chi and me made a good impression. Pros: beautiful place, great food, great DJ more

CELEBRITY SPOTTING 10/20/2004

went to CHI last wednesday with some girlfriends - Pros: nice people, good food, beautiful place more

BANG FOR THE BUCK 10/15/2004

I went there last night and thought the food was amazing. Portions were big, good variety to choose from and great taste. The bar was busy, the crowd was good looking and the drinks were good. It was just a fun night at a great resaurant. Pros: reasonably priced, great food, great looking girls more

Yes and No 10/14/2004

I guess I went here with high expectations because I was disappointed. Don't get me wrong the decor was beautiful and service was great but that was about it. The food had no flavor, it was just bland. I felt like it was equivalent to a microwavable dinner. If you want to go and hang out for drinks, it is the perfect place. But for food....look elsewhere. more

Positive 10/11/2004

The menu is amazing, if you love oriental food chi is the place to go. Good service, $$$ reasonable and the location....Heaven...Thanks Chi Pros: excellent location, Affordable more

FUN NIGHT AT CHI 10/8/2004

I was there thursday night for dinner and I have to say, it was great. The place was packed, the food was awesome and the martini's will get you where you want to go. No more expensive than any other place on the strip. In fact, it may even be less expensive. All the cocktails on the list are $12 and I know that's cheaper than a lot of places. The best part? The girls! At the bar and having dinner. They're beautiful. It's like a club with great food and no cover. I'm definitely coming back. Pros: beautiful women, great food, great bar more

great night at CHI 9/20/2004

i've been to Chi half a dozen times in the last few months - sometimes my choosing, sometimes friends - each time we've had a great night - we were there last week, we waited a few minutes for our table, which was fine because we ended up meeting people at the bar - there are lots of martini choices and they just added a lychee mojito that tastes great and has a good kick to it - the food keeps getting better and better and so does the crowd - Chi is quckly becoming one of my favorite restaurants - Pros: great food, great crowd, great bar more
