I would definitely recommend anyone seeing Dr Pena or any of her staff. I found her to be great, along with her staff. After using the products that she recommended I was very pleased to see the results. Once again I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this office to anyone, whether it be for medical or cosmetic concernsl!!! Pros: great products sold at their office (I found to be convenient) Cons: a little more wait time than what I wanted, but was worth it more

This is the worst place that I have ever been to. The staff is very rude and the one nurse who was trying to take care of me was being treated terrible by her supervisor. I was shocked to go into a professional setting and see the staff with tie dyed red in their hair and piercings everywhere. The only products that she would recommend were the products that she prescribed including the sunscreen. When I told her that I couldn't afford it and asked for a recommendation for something over the counter in the way of moisturizer and sunscreen I was told be the medical assistant that it was this or nothing. Never again!! more

I go to Mandy for facials and Dr. Pena for other things. I've gone to a lot of doctors - I think that they're the best. You should try their Elta products - you'll get hooked on them! Pros: Great area - Cool Springs Area more

I went in for my appointment and I must say that I was impressed with the treatment that I received. I saw the PA, Walt (the tall guy who is leaving for Iraq soon) and he was able to treat my skin problem. He was friendly, upbeat, smiling, empathetic to my concerns, and reassured me that he could ""get me fixed up""! \r I was worried that it was going to cost me a fortune and I shared my concern with him. He did not feel the need for me to spend a bunch of money on medications, in fact he was excited because the medication that I needed just went generic and told me where I could find the medication for only a few dollars. Finally, I am seeing great results! (He did give me a hard time about being in the sun too often and requested that I start using a good sunscreen.) I will have another follow up with someone else in the clinic as he will be serving our country, but I will continue to use him as my physician when he comes back. I recommend him and skin solutions to my friends / family because they put me, the patient first. That is what I would call medicine at its best. I went for a facial last week - it was great. Mandi - the cosmetic person - was very helpful and made suggestions for improving my skin. She was very nice and I will go back. Pros: didn't wait long, nice and relaxing - friendly staff more

I've been going to Dr. Pena's office for about six months. The wait times may be long, but she came highly recommended by my primary care doctor. There are not many doctors in the area that perform some of the surgical procedures that she performs. I know she sells products - my wife buys products from there and finds it very convenient. Pros: convenient area, services offered Cons: sometimes the wait is longer than I would like. more

First off the front desk got my appointment wrong and my wait time was terrible (1 1/2 hrs). A girl named Tracy at the front was rude and not nice to some of her office staff that day. Finally got to see Dr. Pena and she talked so fast that I was like ""what, could you repeat that?"" Then she tried to sell me all of these products and I was not happy with that. She also told me to talk to the cosmetic RN about some services. I met her and she seemed to be the only one who would explain anything to me. That was one plus. So I did not buy any of her products but did take the medication that was prescribed. I went back for another appointment and made sure to book the first of the morning appt. That was a big help. Then when I went for my 2nd appt. three people had quit and they were short staffed. This really bothered me. I also had to get a few skin tags removed and so a nurse or what I thought was a nurse came in and numbed the areas for the removal. After the fact I asked if she was a nurse and she said no. I asked if se was licsenced in any way and she said no, only hands on training. That really bothered me. This made me so scared of everything. Then Dr. Pena just looked at my skin for 5 min and the girl came in to finish with the skin tags. I was scared about scaring and she basically brushed me off. I was really upset by this time. Then I had a consultation with Jennifer the cosmetic procedure side of things and she saved me. If I had not been able to talk to her and relate to her I probably would never step foot back in that office. I am really not sure if I ever will but she explained the products and the services to me like she really had time and wanted to know my concerns. I really just felt rushed and uneasy with the front staff and Dr. Pena. I hope everyone else's experience if you think about going is good . I wasn't going to go to Dr. Pena because of the bad review I read, but she was the only one who could see me the next day. She did talk about products and said that if I continue to use my stuff while she is treating me and I don't get better, she can't know why. She also lectured me on sunscreen, probably becasue she does skin cancer surgeries and knows it's the only way to prevent it. She was very helpful and my skin is a hundred times better. I had to wait a little bit, but that doesn't bother me. Pros: Great Doctor! more

I was new in town and saw Dr. Pena for a recent acne flare up. Instead of prescribing me the usual treatment all other dermatologist had ever recommended for the last 18 years (that always actually worked great, is a real prescription, and is covered by my insurance), she ""prescribed"" me nearly $200 worth of products...THAT SHE SELLS AT HER OFFICE!! One of them was a sunscreen! Is this even ethical?!? Why would ANYBODY trust a ""doctor"" like this? \r Word to the wise, when you call a new dermatologist office, ask FIRST if the doctor sells any products out of the office. I have been a patient of Dr. Pena and Skin Solutions dermatology for the last two years. This practice is busy, but the staff is always helpful. Sometimes the wait times are more than usual, but to me it is worth the wait. The doctor is thorough and they take their time once it is my turn. All of the staff take their time and answer my questions. \r Pros: Very nice office more
