FANTASTIC! What a great dermatology office! They were able to get me right in and the staff was very friendly. I saw Dr. Pena and Physician Assistant Kelly and they were so wonderful at calming my nerves and putting me at ease. I was so please I made my husband an appointment for next week. more

I went to this dermatology office for an issue I was extremely upset about. The NP I saw came into the exam room, barely looked at me, decided the problem was ""all in my head"", lectured me on sunscreen use (completely unrelated to why I was there!) and told me to come back in 3 months to spend another $35 co-pay. Seriously? Can you at least pretend to be interested in my issue or your job? I also sent a follow up question, giving the benefit of the doubt to this office through their patient web portal. I sent that message late Wednesday afternoon, not expecting a response back immediately since it was so late in the day, however as I sit here on Monday afternoon I still have yet to receive a reponse. I know my problem may not seem important to their office, but to me it is something important and not just in my head as I was told. I will never return to this place. \r more

WONDERFUL OFFICE! 5/16/2012

I had a GREAT experience at Skin Solutions. There was a wait...but nothing out of the oridanry for a specialist doctor...plus I always expect some type of wait when I go to the doctor! The front office staff was very friendly and helpful!! I've seen PA's and Dr Pena and they were all great. Very helpful and very very knowledgeable!! Dr Pena has created her own brand of skincare called Likewise. I use this product and it is AMAZING! I would highly recommend this office! They have 3 locations, nashville, columbia, and franklin so no matter where you live, there is a convienant office:) more

Very Nice Office! 5/14/2012

Skin Solutions Dermatology is a great office. They care about their patients. I went in and had an awesome experience. I saw a Walt Sims who is a Physician Assistant there. He was very professional and caring.HIs nurse was also very sweet. She made me feel calm about everything even though I had to have 5 biopsies! I am not in pain at all and he explained how I am to care for my wounds after the biopsies. He made sure that I knew that it was important for me to take good care of my wounds for minimal scarring. He also advised me about the to take care of my skin and how I can prevent skin cancer. I will definitely be back to see them again for my next full body skin check. I LOVE THIS OFFICE!! more

Thankful! 5/9/2012

I went to see Dr. Pena because I had a strange spot on my cheek. It was squamous cell carcinoma. I had to have MOHS surgery on it. I was scared that I was going to have terrible scarring and look hidious. All of the nurses were so sweet. I felt that they really cared about how I was feeling. Dr. Pena did a great job with the scar. It is hardly noticeable. I can't thank everyone enough for the wonderful care I received. I highly recommend Skin Solutions Dermatology. more

Expert in her field 5/9/2012

Dr. Pena is the most knowledgeable dermatologist that I have met. She truly is passionate about skin care and making people look their best!! She has created her own cleanser and zinc based moisturizer called Likewise. I started one of my teenagers on this and my other one continued doing what he was doing. There was a drastic difference in the appearance of my son's face who was using Likewise. His face cleared up and his skin looks so smooth and vibrant! He is such a believer now that he lets me know before it runs out that he needs more....:) more

Dr Pena and her staff ARE AMAZING 5/5/2012

First let me start by saying all doctors offices are just that! I have been to the office in Nashville and Franklin and I can tell you that I have always had excellent results. The thing I love is that no matter how many questions I ask the providers take ther time answer my questions and I leave feeling assured and confident. I want look my best as I age and I will never deviate from Skin Solutions. They also have a cosmetic studio Pena MD Studio just down the street ans they help me look my best at reasonable prices!!!!! more

Best place, Hands down!! 5/1/2012

it is a doctors office, there's always going to be a wait. Thats what Doctor offices are known for! haha The staff were VERY friendly and knowledgable!!! I saw Dr Pena and she was very clear on what her best recommendations were for my skin. She did not spend all day with me like some people expect, but she still did her job and I understood she also had a ton of other patients to see. Bottom line, every one there is exceptional! Also the lady selling products in the office, Malia, was so knowledgable about all of them and giving me an honest opinion about each one that I had questions about. If you want a great skin care product, go see her!! Its been about a month since I was there and my skin looks great!!!!!!\r \r May 01, 2012\r more

DON'T MAKE THIS SAME MISTAKE 1/29/2012

i was extremely disappointed about my experience at skin solutions. i arrived right on time for my appointment and waited for around thrity minutes before anyone spoke to me. when i was at last directed into the back, i waited an additional twenty minutes before the doctor came into the room. when the doctor finally did show up, she only stayed for around five minutes at the most. she originally tried to prescribe me acutane, which is known to cause horrifying side effects, which i turned down. she then suggested we use a procedure called derm-a-jet, which basically injects steroids into your skin at a high pressure. however, i was not informed that the derm-a-jet would leave scarring that has turned out to be far worse then the acne was originally. and i need also mention, that the acne they were treating in the first place, never went away. all i received from skin solutions was an outrageous bill and scars as a constant reminder of how awful that ""dermatologist"" is. PLEASE. IF YOU READ THIS DO NOT GO THERE. more

What an amazing place! 6/10/2010

As a RN, I am well aware when a 'bump' on my chin just doen't look right. I went to Dr. Pena and following a biopsy, I was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. My first goal was to make sure we got ALL of the SCC and my second goal was to NOT have my face turn into a Frankenstein face. I was nervous, but Dr. Pena, JoEllyn and the rest of the staff took great care of me. I am still healing but I am shocked, thankful and amazed how well the scars (and they were significant) are healing. Her work really is beautiful and I so thankful I went to Skin Solutions! An amazing place with amazing people. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Pena if you every need anything done related to your skin. Kudos to all at Skin Solutions! Judy D. Dermatology 6/3/2010

I love the fact that you can talk to the same physician about multiple issues. I had some dermatological issues but also wanted to hear about slowing down the aging process and what I could do to improve my appearance. Her cosmetic studio is just down the street and they give free cosmetic consults. The Studio is beautiful, relaxing and inviting. I had a facial the other day and it was amazing. They have something called Dermasweep (its like a microderm), I am scheduled for next week, I am so excited! Pros: Medical and Cosmetic Services Cons: Wish she had another location closer to me more

Best Dermatology Office in Tennessee! 5/25/2010

I have seen Dr. Pena and both of her PA's JoEllyn and Walt. All three have been nothing but helpful and friendly.\r \r I had minor surgery to have something removed from my ear that I have had there for years. Not only was it quick, they kept up with me and allowed me to come in and have my wound checked as much as possible.\r \r The nursing staff is quick and efficient, and I look better than ever. I will trust Skin Solutions for any dermatology related issue I have in the future.\r \r They saved me! Pros: Friendly, helpful service. I've never looked better! more

Awesome Practice 5/24/2010

I had an awesome experience. I saw an advertisement and was interested in the cosmetic practice ""Pena MD Studio"" - LOVED IT. Everyone should visit this place. I have seen several different providers, including Dr Pena and really liked every experience. I had some laser treatments, then some Botox, and I'm hooked on this place. Also they sell some really good products, make-up and skin care products, all are awesome. Pros: Great staff more

Great experience 7/22/2009

My daughter was in town and had a rash suddenly appear. We called and the office was able to work her in with JoEllen Dyson that day. We expected to have a long wait, but after about 15 minutes she was called back, was seen by JoEllen, given some sample ointment and an Rx in case the sample didn't help, and were out 10 minutes later. Additionally, since my daughter is a college student, they checked on the insurance for us and even called them to make sure it would be covered. I'm not sure I've ever received that type of follow through! We have both already recommended Skin Solutions to friends and definitely have found a great new dermatology office. I was impressed 3/17/2009

I almost did not make an appointment because of the reviews I read on here, but I'm so very glad I did. I had an early morning appointment for my son, and after finishing up the paperwork, we were called back within 5 minutes. We saw Walt Sims within the next few minutes and he immediately performed the proceedure. We were in and out of there within 30 minutes. Walt was WONDERFUL and made my son completely at ease. The ladies at the front desk and the assistants were also very sweet. I have recommended Skin Solutions to friends and will soon make an appointment for my daughter.
