I have been a patient of Kyle McAvoy NP for 3 years and as of my latest visit I am making it my last. The quality of care has changed dramtically. I was encouraged to buy skin care products while having to ask for a blood draw to check hormone and thyroid levels. Not once was I asked about my current state of well being and had to call the clinic repeatedly to inquire about my perscription refills.I know the state of health care requires us as patients to advocate for ourselves but seriously, I believe that for the cost involved the care we do recieve should be more involved and without conflict of interest ie: pushing product. more

Pearl Women’s Center is AMAZING! Not only did I walk out an hour and a half later but I couldn’t even tell I just had a cyst removed the size of a grapefruit! Doctor Rosenfield and his staff were wonderful. I honestly felt great when I left. It was very important to me that I had a surgeon I trusted and that I felt extremely confident in; Dr. Rosenfield was this and more. He listened to my concerns and made me feel like family. If I ever have to have another cyst removed or any type of surgery for that matter I would go back in a heartbeat! I encourage everybody to go see Dr. Rosenfield! You won’t regret it and will walk our happier then you left, I guarantee it! The anesthesiologist was great as well. Apparently I felt so good that I asked everybody when I woke up if they wanted to go Hawaii! Haha, who doesn’t want to wake up thinking about sunny beaches and palm trees? more

I was born with a congenital breast deformity called Polands syndrome...put simply, when I hit puberty, one of my breasts somewhat developed while the other one did not. This condition negatively affected every aspect of my life and I had no hope of it ever being corrected. Young, embarrassed, scared and alone, I told no one and suffered in silence for the ten most crucial years of my adolescence. Finally, at 23 I realized that if I didn't tell someone about it..nothing would change and I would live like that for the rest of my life. So I made the decision to investigate plastic surgeons in my area. After viewing several centers websites and seeing nothing but large breasted, hot pink lingerie clad ""patients of the month""...I finally found the Pearl Women’s Center page and it was refreshing to see a center that actually seemed to sincerely care about improving/enhancing patients appearances and lives more so than achieving an unrealistic level of ""perfection"" (which I've come to find out is completely accurate) Contacting PWC was the best decision I could have ever possibly made..I went to the consultation..frightened and embarrassed, but Dr. Bensimon was so sincere and reassuring; he was honest and realistic with me and explained all the possibilities. I knew right away that this was the person I wanted at my side through this experience. Throughout my entire breast augmentation with him he made sure we were on the same page and encouraged me to bring in photos and encouraged my opinion and just made sure to involve me completely in the entire process. Any surgeon could have just put implants in and called the outcome good...but Dr. Bensimon really took the challenge of my condition head on...it was a very difficult case (because of the awkward shape and different sizes of my breasts) but he really worked hard to make sure that what he was doing was going to achieve the most natural and symmetrical look possible and the result was way more than anything I could have ever hoped or dreamed for..because of my breasts being so awkwardly shaped & different sized, I knew that they may never (even after augmentation) look completely symmetrical..but what he did for me is just amazing..I now have the breasts that I had once dreamed of having. I cannot believe what he has done for me. The outcome is way beyond my wildest dreams and expectations. It was a long process and a couple surgeries (because of the complexity of my condition) but I now look the way I once dreamed of and his experience, knowledge and creative thought made it all possible. Said with no exhaggeration at all, Dr. Bensimon changed my life and my happiness and newfound confidence is owed to him. This is a man that puts his heart into his work and truly cares about his patients. This is exemplified in his exceptional work and the way he treats his patients. I would recommend him and his staff to anyone seeking any procedure/operation large or small. more

I am a new patient at Pearl Women's Center and my experience there was amazing! I am younger and when I went in I thought I was going in for a cyst but they found something else that was causing sever pain. Dr. Rosenfield scheduled my surgery immediately to remove the painful abscess. When I showed up for my surgery they staff was very friendly and explained everything in (english - not the medical terms your don't actually understand) =]]. I went home from my surgery and the next day when I woke up I was pleased to see flowers from all the staff at Pearl Women's Center. It was soo nice to see that they took the time to do such a small gesture. All the nurses and assistants here are so caring and genuinely nice! I actually found them here on citysearch and I read some of the reviews both good and bad; and I have to say the bad reviews must be from some uptight people because they are total opposite from those reviews. I will never go anywhere else. more

I have been a client of Nurse Andrea Stapleton for the last two years. I am a professional middle-aged woman and felt very self-conscious about seeking botox injections. I had no idea what to expect or what I should even ask for. Fortunately, Nurse Stapleton sensed my anxiety and immediately put me at ease by explaining the procedure and carefully examining my face. She also uses an anesthetic cream that numbs the treatment area so as she injected me in several places I felt absolutely no pain. Not all botox providers follow this procedure, consequently the injections can be painful. The day after my first treatment she called to check on how I was feeling and she called once again a week later to inquire about my satisfaction with the results. Andrea Stapleton is very experienced and she is certified to administer botox. I highly recommend that anyone who is considering botox make an appointment for an initial consultation. I know that you will be as pleased as I am with the results. more

I have never had such a terrible experience. Andrea, the nurse who performed my botox was rude, uncaring and simply put had no idea what she was doing. Do yourself a favor, STAY away from this clinic. more

Dr. Rosenfield was wonderful! He spent over an hour with me talking about all the different options I had, at my first consultation. He was able to do an ultrasound right there in the room. His staff was professional and very helpful. I never felt rushed. I consulted with 3 other doctors before choosing Dr. Rosenfield and I'm very glad I did.\r Dr. Rosenfield has the most current, up to date technology in his office with a surgical center right above. Even thou my fibroids were large and there\r were 10+ of them, Dr. Rosenfield was able to the surgery laproscopically. I was told by 2 of the other Dr's that there are only a handful of Doctors in Portland that could've done my surgery LSH, with Dr. Rosenfield being one of those. His staff took excellent care of me and my partner before and after surgery, and I was home just 2 hours after. I was concerned about doing the surgery outside of a hospital setting, and am now so very glad that I did. There was one person assigned to me from the moment I left the operating room and she stayed with me until we left to go home. She also called more than once to follow up and make sure I was doing well.\r Here I am 7 weeks after the surgery, fully healed, feeling like I got my life back! \r I definately feel like I made the right decision and would highly reccommend Dr. Rosenfeild and Pearl Womens Center! more

I agree with the comments on my fellow commenter below regarding her experience. I really enjoyed the staff, mostly female as far as I could tell. My interview with the doctor was thorough and I appreciated that. However, I had misgivings regarding some parts of the treatment and I was definitely told it was his way or no way. I have seen a lot of doctors for endometriosis over the years and have never felt so left out of the treatment plan. I explained what I was requesting and received a blunt and uncaring response, through the nurse, from the doctor. \r I would not return to this doctor. Dr. Bensimon is an accomplished and skilled surgeon who has had a remarkable impact on both myself and my daughter. After having two ther consutations with surgeons, my daughter and I consulted with Dr. Bensimon who spent over 90 minutes with us. He demonstated a level of confidence, knowledge and experience that far exceeded the other consults. We left knowing we had found the best possible surgeon. Dr. Bensimon performed a rhinoplasty combined with deviated septum repair and chin implant on my daughter and she is thrilled with the results. Shortly thereafter, I had chin liposuction, abdominoplasty and internal breast lift with augmentation. The surgery and recovery were both far easier than I anticipated and my results exceeded my expectations. I attribute the ease of both as well as our positive outcomes to Dr. Bensimon's aesthetic eye and extraordinary surgical skills. He is without doubt a talented and gifted surgeon. The Pearl Women's Center itself is beautiful and very calming. Dr. Bensimon's nurse Andrea is wonderful and as knowledgeable as a doctor herself. His caring assistant Cheryl is prompt is answering any question with detailed and accurate information. Dr. Bensimon is a gifted, talented, skilled surgeon. He is professional, competent and honest. He gives you realistic expectations, works with you, makes you feel comfortable and his results are amazing. I had an internal breast lift and silicon implants replaced. I am one month post surgery and my results are incredible. I put this off for years, interviewing several of Portland's elite and walked away from them not feeling confident. This is a great clinic. Everyone from the front desk to the doctor are very courteous. You can tell they genuinely care about what they do, and their patients. I have not had to wait because my doctor was not on schedule, which is definitely a nice change. My doctor will schedule an appointment to talk one on one about labs, concerns, or changes, and is respectful and a great-listener. She has made some great recommendations. I wanted to follow-up on my review after re-reading some feedback by others. I still stand behind everything I said, but wonder whether people who have left great feedback referring to female doctors are actually being seen by a doctor (versus a nurse practioner or physician's assistant). It's my understanding there are only three official doctors there--Dr. Rosenfield, Dr. Dow, and Dr. Bensimon. All males.\r \r I do believe that a female doctor, who was supposedly great, used to work at the Center but moved on. Is this correct? \r \r I'm not sure I would ever attempt to revisit this place due to the awful treatment by the Center's Founder and Executive Medical Director, but I'm willing to be proved wrong. Is there a female doctor at the Center who may be the fabulous caregiver praised in other reviews?\r \r *************************************************\r \r I saw Dr. Rosenfield regarding a complex cyst a couple weeks ago, and he completed a transvaginal ultrasound. He continually talked about the situation rather than listening to anything I had to say including my continuing symptoms. The ultrasound was painful (they're never comfortable, but this was ridiculous), and he dismissed me very quickly thereafter. I questioned my continuing symptoms to which he spoke about one or two possibilities then got up to leave...after inviting me to be a new patient. No, thank you. I readed some reviews before making an appointment and they are pretty good reviews but this was the worst experience ever. The doctor was rushed and seemed like he would of rather been golfing or something. The exam was horrible and I was in pain for a week afterwards. Today I went for my 2nd trip to the gynecologist, EVER. I was a little nervous at first but the Pearl Women's Center made everything go perfectly smooth! \r The location is superb! It's located right in the Pearl District, but not in too busy of an area! They have free off street parking; which is very convenient! \r Their office is beautiful! It's very modern, chic & well kept/clean. The woman at the front desk was very pleasant, friendly & helpful! I only had to wait for a matter on minutes before I was taken to the back into the exam room. [You can even print all the paperwork on-line & fill it out before you come in]! \r My doctor was amazing! I will go back to her over & over again! She was very sweet & easy to talk to! I feel like she listened to what I had to say and did/is doing her best to help me! \r All in all it was a wonderful experience! It made going to the gynecologist pleasant; next time I wont dread going back! \r \r Kudos to the Pearl Women's Clinic! \r \r They're awesome! I am new to the area and live in the Pearl. I am a former surgeon, from Brazil. This was the first place I found and I was very lucky and blessed.. Dr Rosenfield and his team, specially Nurse Kyle McAcvoy impressed me with their knowledge, kindness, precision, not only in a very serious and scientific, medical way but also in an holistic way, seeing the patient as a whole what made me feel home. As a foreigner I had a hard time to find someone I could trust. I strongly recommend the PEARL's Women Center as an outstanding place for you to take care of your health, be heard and get out of the office like you have spent a time in a zen and clean SPA. I was referred to PWC by a friend who had received a supracervical laparoscopic hysterectomy there and who was extremely satisfied with her results. I had uterine fibroids the size of a small football, they were continuing to grow, and they were blocking my bladder, so unfortunately it became clear that a hysterectomy was the only option for me. The doctor in my town was only trained in abdominal hysterectomies, but I wanted something less invasive. It was at that time that my friend told me that Dr. Rosenfield was skilled at performing difficult hysterectomies laparoscopically. So I made an appointment. The staff at PWC was all so professional, helpful, and friendly. And Dr. Rosenfield is truly a master at his craft. He told me that my case was the most difficult of the 200+ surgeries he's done, due to size and location of fibroids, yet he was able to complete the surgery without having to go abdominal. I would recommend PWC in a heartbeat to anyone, and I am eternally grateful to Dr. Rosenfield! Pros: everything Cons: nothing more

My experience with the Pearl Women's Center was exceptionally good and I am speaking from a health care professionals point of view- I've worked in the health care field (in a Hospital) for the last 16 yrs and the customer service provided by the office staff, nursing staff, anesthesiologist and Dr. Rosenfield was excellent. However, It was my granddaughter that was the patient and not I. I attended the pre-op appointment and stayed in the waiting area during surgery. Dr. Rosenfield was wonderful with my granddaughter- he was comforting and confident. He took the time to explain the whole surgical process from arrival to discharge. Dr. Rosenfield was thorough and answered all our questions. My granddaughter felt comfortable under Dr. Rosenfield's care, as we all did. During the surgery - the entire staff were attentive and available. We were updated often as the surgery progressed. After the surgery, Dr. Rosenfield came out to the waiting area and spoke to all of us- he was professional and caring. As I stated before- I have worked in a Hospital setting for the past 16 yrs and I know the difference between good and bad customer service. I've also spent years working with a variety of health care providers, office staff, nursing staff and physicians. The Pearl Women's Center provided our family with excellent care. A heart felt Thank-you to Dr. Rosenfield for his expertise and to all his staff for taking such good care of my granddaughter. I came to Dr. Rosenfield one afternoon for a second opinion. I left with a new gynecologist....he took so much time to explain my fibroid tumors and all the methods to alleviate/obliterate them. I loved not having to check into a big box hospital for my laparoscopic hysterectomy....Dr. Rosenfield does everything in house. This means that he could schedule me about a week out, and keep himself on schedule. That NEVER happens at a hospital. Pros: Dr. Rosenfield is a stand alone expert in his field.
