Worst experience ever 9/8/2011

My dentist recommended Singiser to remove six of my teeth. I brought my xrays to Singiser who insisted that I have a panaramic xray done. Upon reviewing his xray, he mentioned that I had plenty of bone and would be a good candidate for dental implants. He told me that I would need six implants at a cost of $2,000 per implant. I told him that I only wanted the six teeth pulled and I could not afford nor want the implants. He verbally told me that the cost of the extractions would be $250 - $350 each. He repeatly told me about the benefits of implants and he could put in bone graphs to ensure that they were be solid. I kept telling him that I did not want or could afford implants/bone graphs.I set up an appointment. Upon arriving my wife and I asked his receptionist how much we needed to pay. She pulled up my information and said that $2,000 should cover it. We paid the $2,000. We recieved a bill from Singiser for $3,000+ a few weeks later. When we called we were told that he had put in three bone graphs at a cost of $750 each. He claimed that he had given me an esitmate during the intial meeting, which he DID NOT. I asked him to send it to me. It was an estimate however with no signature from me. I DID NOT need, want nor could afford bone graphs however he did them anyway. This is not an honest dentist, I strongly recommend that if anyone uses him.........beware! more

Unethical 4/21/2011

I had the beginnings of peridontal issues. I visited 2 other periodontists who gave me free evaluations and a recommendation to use a non-invasive laser. However, Singiser recommended surgey (even after I explained the laser technique). On my evaluation, he basically preped me for surgery by taking pictures of my whole mouth. Then, he tried to schedule me for surgery and charge me $85 for the evaluation/surgical prep. I declined to pay because I was appauled that he would suggest surgery in my case - with mild peridontal issues. I opted for the laser route and it worked beautifully - no surgery!! I sent him the results, and he sent me to a collection agency just like the last reviewer. I sent more results 5 years later proving that I still did not need surgery! more

Outrageously high fees 3/28/2011

Here are my opinions of Dr Singiser as a conscientious patient. My dentist referred me to Singiser, who exceeded my reasonable and customary limits with every procedure he prescribed. My family dentist was surprised at how much Singiser was charging and said another patient complained about being referred to Singiser because of high fees the same week! I have great insurance; he exceeded reasonable and customary for every procedure. I was referred to another Periodontist with whom I am very happy. Singiser?s charges were DOUBLE that of the the other Periodontist. I asked him to adjust his charges; he said no. He sent a bill telling me he would send it to collection if not paid immediately. I paid 10 of the remaining $45 charges, with a note that I was protesting his high fees. Today I received a letter from a collection agency even though I made a payment! I have very good credit. Dr. SIngiser is driving the cost of healthcare to unreasonable levels. Watch out and ask his fees FIRST! more

Excessively high fees 3/28/2011

Here are my opinions of Dr Singiser as a conscientious patient. My dentist referred me to Singiser. I have great insurance but Singiser exceeded reasonable and customary for every procedure. My dentist was shocked at how much Singiser was charging and said another patient complained about being referred to Singiser for high fees in the same week! My dentist referred me to another Periodontist with whom I am very happy. Singiser?s charges were DOUBLE that of the the other Periodontist. My second opinion preauthorization was about $3000. Singiser?s preauthorization was about $6000. The procedures were similar. The fees I complained about were for an initial perio exam and would have been paid by my insurance company at $100%, however, there was a footnote that Singiser?s fees exceeded reasonable and customary fees ($90) by $45.50. That is 1.5 times higher than reasonable and customary! I asked Singiser to adjust his charges; he said no. He sent a bill telling me he would send it to collection if not paid immediately. I paid $10 of the remaining $45 charges with a note that I was protesting his high fees. Today I received a letter from a collection agency even though I made a payment! I have very good credit. It?s up to you, but if you decide to go to Dr. Singiser, I?m simply giving you a heads up to ask his fees first. If they seem high to you, let your referring dentist know and get a second opinion. You may find the same thing I found. I?m lucky that I stopped it all at the initial perio exam. I have more important things to do with $3000 in these tough times. more
