Peace Of Cakes is not liable for any damages incurred by cakes during customer pick ups. We offer every customer delivery to prevent accidents and we guarantee satisfaction to all of our customers. Our cake care guidelines state to refrigerate every cake immediately upon arrival to any venue. We also verbally state this to each customer at pick up. Peace Of Cakes stilts every cake with dowels to prevent top tiers sinking into lower tiers of cake. We did not accuse the customer of dropping this cake. This cake obviously collapsed from lack of refrigeration in eighty degree weather. The original customer was fully aware that we offer and guarantee delivery. Said customer filled out an online inquiry form declining delivery. The original customer was also a joy to work with and extremely polite. The front part of our cake collapsed. Called the bakery. They accused us of dropping the cake. Not so, we handled the cake very carefully. They agreed to fix it so we brought the cake back. Entering the bakery I was met with sarcasm and accusations by the man that works there. The owner was spewing out sarcastic comments under her breath loud enough for me to hear. Before I got there my intentions were to meet them half way and offer to pay something for their time. After thinking about what happened we thought maybe we let the cake sit out too long. When I told them I had thought of offering to pay them, he responded with, ""What, do you have a guilty conscience?"" In other words calling me a liar. That escalated the situation. Then the owners sarcastic response was, ""Well, when you cheap out on delivery we can't guarantee the cake."" They refused to take any responsibility.
