Cant say Enough Larry was Great 10/1/2010

I own a large home in Beverly hills and my water heater was leaking it was a big one 75 gallon i think. but I had one other guy come look at it. This other plumber was crazy he wanted to charge me $6950 to change over to tankless. Larry Came in figured out our hot water needs there is only 3 people in our house he recommended a Noritz 841 Condensing unit for about $3800 he Guaranteed I would be happy and he was absolutely correct. The old water heater was in our Garage and it looks much better with the new tankless he put on side wall and we were able to take out old stand and put our refrigerator in the corner of the garage and gave us a ton more room which I really like. the job is very professional looking and larry was a super nice guy and I would gladly refer you. more

Only Company able to fix Problem! 2/9/2010

Only Company able to fix Problem! Well first of all a couple of weeks ago we had this pipe leaking on the side of my home! I wasnt sure where it was coming from so I called a Plumber the first Plumber told me it was related to the water heater and it needed to be replaced for about $1587.00 I told them i had two more guys coming out and the next guy came out and told me the water heater was bad and had to be changed but he was more expensive than the other plumber he wanted way to much $1865.00 HE SAID THEY USED A BETTER A WATER HEATER! SURE! When the Plumber from Payless showed up, he asked what were the symptoms of the problem, He got out some tools ran a quick test or two. He told me I know exactly what was happening here your T& P Valve is Popping off. which ricky explained to me was the temperature and pressure relief valve that releases when the pressure or temperature gets to high it releases. He helped me understand the Problem which was nice. So the fix to the problem he told me I need to replace the T & P Valve and the pressure regulator that sits in front of my home! Which is the root of the whole problem. NOT THE WHOLE WATER HEATER! he told me the job would be $385 to replace my regulator and T & P Valve. I was so relieved from what he told me I thought I was gonna spend well over a $1500. for a new water heater today but instead got it done for less than $400 Thank You Guys I appreciate the honesty and my family does also in these times! Steve H. Pros: done in one trip! more

Wow Tankless Installed in One day! Great Job 2/9/2010

I had a Tankless Water Heater installed in our home Today! I called Payless this morning, shortly after a gentlemen showed up at 10am ready to get my problem solved with a new water Heater but instead I opted for the new tankless. Which to my surprise could be done the same day. I gave them the go ahead they started work right away. It took some time because they had to run a new larger gas line and a new vent as well. By 5pm that day we had hot water from our new Tankless Water Heater. We love our new Tankless Water Heater and im getting 30% tax credit & $150 Gas company rebate for installing one of these tankless water heaters. Never ending showers and i have two teenagers this is the perfect solution. Very Clean work and it lokks great. Thank You Pam A more

Good People, Great Service 2/3/2010

Fast and Honest Service....Wow what a difference with this company. I called Payless Water Heaters on Saturday morning and was able to speak to someone who cared. I had a plumber at my door step within a few hours of calling. His name was Ricky, he came in my house after putting on white booties on his feet (so my floor wouldn't get dirty from his boots). He went through the house into the garage with his tools and within 30 min's of running tests and checking out what the problem was he gave me & my husband (who is disable and unable to complete the repair himself) all of our options. Thank god the water heater was able to be repaired and not replaced. The price was less than $300.00. After the repair was completed he even took the time to show me how to shut it down? if there is an emergency like an earthquake. He took his time with us and did a very clean job. Dealing with Payless Water Heaters was much better than dealing with the other company that I waited for over 4.5 hours on Friday. The company who came on Friday didn't even say sorry for being 2 hours late when he got there. He stormed in my house and looked at the water heater and without pulling out a signal tool he told me I needed to replace it for $1735.00 with 2 min's of being in my garage, and could did it until Monday after he picks it up from the plumbing store. I?m so glad I had a bad experience with the first company because Payless Water Heater was hands down a much better company to use for my water heater. They are a great company. Everybody was friendly and very helpful. I give them 2 thumbs up. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who needs a water heater serviced or replaced. Pros: Very Professional Cons: I had to pay to repair, better than replace more

Bad Experience with Payless 11/18/2009

I chose and paid extra for the top-of-the-line heater with the twelve year warranty. The quote said the water heater would be $549 but with installation and all the extra stuff we "needed," our total was $956. If I wanted the the top-of-the-line heater with the twelve year warranty, that was another $100, bringing the total to $1056. The day of the installation after the guy took out my old water heater and installed the new one, I was told that I needed to replace our existing water pressure regulator. I balked at this, especially because of his timing. He waited until after installing the water heater instead of telling me before he began. It seemed to be a ploy to extort more money from me. I tried to avoid paying for this extra. Then he wrote a note on my receipt saying that if I did not replace the regulator the warranty would be void. Under duress, I agreed and paid the total of $1326. Since I am not sure that I needed the water pressure regulator I was forced to buy for an additional $270 on the initial installation date, I do not trust Payless water heaters. I also think they did a little price gouging since it took about 10 minutes of labor to install the regulator, and a friend told me he bought one at the hardware store for $50. Two years later, I noticed there was no hot water. I went into the utility room and smelled gas. I called a plumber, and he came right over. He inspected the heater and determined that the heater could not be repaired and needed to be replaced. He shut off the heater and the gas and water going to it. Because of the previous experience with Payless Water Heaters, I did not want to have them handle the replacement. The plumber took the heater in to exchange it. The staff at the place where he exchanged the unit made a photocopy of my receipt because they thought it was interesting. Bradford White, the manufacturer of the water heater, does not offer a water heater with a 12 year warranty. The heater that had been installed in our home was a water heater that comes with a 6 year warranty. I guess we were lucky it only took two years for the heater to fail, so it was still under warranty. Not really. We got a "free" replacement heater from the manufacturer, but we had to pay for professional installation. If you are looking to replace your water heater, I suggest you avoid Payless Water Heaters. Let me be clear about whom I am speaking. The company has contractor number 836216 is owned by Scott Oksas and the salesman who set me up was Bryan Oksas. They are located in Valencia, but they have several addresses set up in the area. Check the contractor number and you will find they are all the same Pros: Not at installing water heaters. Cons: Probably. more
