I work in Old Saybrook and live 30 miles away. By the time I get home from work I just don't have the time to give my husband a GOOD home cooked meal. Well at least before Pasta Vita I didn't. Now I go in every week or two and pick up five or six entrees and freeze them. I can then call my husband and tell him which to throw into the oven. Every container holds enough to feed two and we have never tried anything we don't like but we have tried many we love. From meatloaf to Chicken Apulia they are all winners. Even if you don't want pasta you will find lots of choices to satisfy. I love them so much that we had them cater my daughters wedding and I don't exagerate to say that the guests raved about the food and the catering. more

Or you want to eat healthy and haven't had time to hit the grocery store, you MUST check out Pasta Vita in Old Saybrook, CT. They are now located off of Elm Street in Old Saybrook, at the intersection at the end of Ingham Hill Road and Elm Street, across from M&J Bus garage. This new larger location meant that they could expand their kitchen space and come up with even more culinary creations. Not to mention that they now have ample parking (which was an issue at their previous location). All of their foods are made fresh daily and packed in containers that can go from their shop, to your car, directly into your oven. What's better than that! - No pots and pans to clean! They offer everything from fresh soups & salads, fresh breads and side dishes, pasta entrees, seafood entrees, chicken and beef dishes, appetizers and FABULOUS desserts. You can stop in and within minutes you could be walking out with a complete meal for tonights dinner, or stock up and bring home a weeks worth. About the only thing you cannot find at Pasta Vita would be your beverages, everything else they have it there. For home cooked meals their prices are extremely reasonable. A Chef's salad will run about $6.75 but canb easily serve 4 as a side dish or two people if that is the main meal. I live close to Pasta Vita - and I have never driven by without seeing a huge crowd in the parking lot. That says a lot about the company and their food. Pasta Vita started by providing their freshly made, gourmet ravioli and pasta to local restaurants. They opened their doors to the public and offer their pastas and entree's as take out. Recently, they moved into a larger location which makes for a more pleasant shopping experience. Raviloi's include lobster, crabmeat and asparagus, portabello mushroom, butternut squash and about 20 others. They offer inspiring meals such as wild mushroom lasagna, chicken and asparagus lasagna, pasta alla Vita (vodka sauce) with shrimp, and tuscan style short ribs. In addition to hot entree's, they offer delicous salads, (a favorite is the gorganzola/walnut salad), homemade soups, sauces, breads and pastry items. The food is served in individual portions to feed one or two people, and the lasagnas also come in a full sheet pan to feed 8-10. Pasta Vita offers a full catering menu as well.
