I don't know what all the bad reviews are about. My wife and I went there for the first time and loved it. The staff was very friendly, and the food was great. Nice big portions, ...

This use to be my favorite restaurant and the food is still very good, but the service is terrible and the staff was very rude the last time I was in there. I will not return and ...

chicken parm is the best anywhere, size of portions are huge, service is great, best desserts 1/14/2008

They have the best italian bread with dipping oil that you can get anywhere. Bread served warm. The portions are so big that we always eat for a entire second meal. The food is always served hot. The service is always great. The only complaint is that you always have to wait to get in, they should have made the place bigger when they moved here. The deserts are also huge and great tasting. The six layer chocolate cake is the best anywhere, and the pumpkin cake cheesecake mixture is wonderful. Pros: price is low for the amount you get and the taste is equal to anywhere you can go and pay a lot more. Cons: The wait to sit can be 1 hour or more long and dinner rush. We try to get there early. more

What a dissappointment!! 11/30/2007

\r After moving to the area recently from Florida we thought we would try Pasta Too having heard good things about it. I must say we were very dissappointed. We had heard there was usually a wait so didn't even mind that anticiapting a good meal. The service was OK, not great and the salad was good BUT when the entrees came I thought my spaghetti and meatballs tasted exactly like Spaghettio's!!! Hopefully this town expects ""more"" than that from Italian food???? The sauce was so out of the can tasting like Chef Boyardee that I couldn't even finish eating it. I would rather eat at a chain Italian restaurant than ever go back to Pasta Too. Certainly there has got to be some good authentic Italian restaurants somewhere in town??\r more

Always a long wait but always satisfying food 10/19/2007

Always, always, always, always a lonnggg wait here. I don't think there is any time of day that you can go to Pasta Too and NOT wait to be seated. That should tell you how popular this place is and it wouldn't be so popular if the food wasn't good. As annoying as the wait is, once you're seated you won't be disappointed. I always enjoy what I order. From Fettacini Alfredo to Grilled Chicken salad to all kinds of pizza. Most of the time I order pizza, it's always delicious! The only time it wasn't was when the regular pizza chef wasn't working, so I have learned to ask and make sure he's working. If he's not there, I just order something else from the menu which has much to choose from. Even burgers! The desserts are very good too. As for the service, that can be iffy. I have had wonderful service, rude service and sometimes a mixture of both. Most of the rudeness comes from the front desk and hostesses. One hostess that wears her hair high on her head can be particularly aloof but the wait staff, the kitchen staff and the owner are always friendly and efficient. The owner's name is Ray and you can always see him walking around and checking things out. Nice man. Pasta Too is one of my favorite eateries. Try the veggie pizza, always perfect. Try the steak calzone or the sausage calzone, always terrific. Just remember to make sure the regular pizza chef is there. His name is Ron. Try the stuffed mushrooms, seafood bisque, eggplant parm. Lots of items to choose from! Enjoy! Pros: lots of items on menu, friendly wait staff, attentive owner Cons: long waits to be seated, parking lot always full more

It's BUSY....even when competing restaurants are EMPTY 10/18/2007

This is THE place, ladies and gents. You'll wait a long time to get your table, but it will surely be worth it. Here's a hint: look for the specials on the easel board in the waiting area. Sometimes it's hidden behind the SRO crowd. If you think the menu items are great, wait 'til you get one of the specials listed on the board. Tonight I had the Salmon Rockefeller.....outstanding! I previously lived in New York....for 17 years, and I can truthfully say that there is not a better Italian restaurant, even in Manhattan, and at any price, than this wonderful little gem in Bethel Park, PA. As for the service, it can be a little rushed at times, but it's always friendly and efficient. Don't linger over coffee after dinner...there are too many others waiting for your table. Pros: Legendary Food Quality Cons: Too busy for those who like to linger after dinner more

rudeness 7/9/2007

A few Fridays nights ago, we called Pasta Too to order a pizza and 2 italian hoages ""to go"". I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever dealt with anyone as rude as the girl who answered the phone and took my order. I may be wrong but I believe her name was Tracy. HOWEVER, the pizza and hoagies were terrific! The pizza had a perfect thin and crispy crust, which can be a rarity at pizza shops. The 2 Italian hoagies were quite tasty as well. My compliments to the chef!! He or she must really know their stuff. BUT, due to the rudeness of the staff on the phone and at pick up, it is doubtful that we will be repeat customers. I suggest that the owner a/o manager school their employees in proper customer service. It does not matter how wonderful your product is, if your staff who deals with your public is unbelievably rude, word of mouth could definitely negatively effect your business. Perhaps Pasta Too's pizza chef should consider venturing out on his own. I feel he could do quite well. Pros: EXCELLENT pizza and hoagies Cons: Horrible customer service, rude staff, no action taken when we complained about service more

best chicken parm around!!!!!! 5/12/2007

This was my first time here..and I LOVED IT!!! Some friends recommended this place but without a bar it came to the bottom of the list...we were in the neighborhood~ gave it a try and IT IS TO DIE FOR!!!!! Our waiter was Bill and he is fabulous--the other servers i noticed are excellent at what they as well. VERY personable. The wait was very long but Ive heard that Monday nights are usually slow and I will try it then!(We went on a Thursday) As a business owner myself-I observed that the managers must run a tight ship to have such a contolled chaotic situation in the kitchen and not lose it somewhere.Right down to the bus people everyone is in line. 5 stars in my book! Pros: great people and great management from what i noticed Cons: very long waits and no bar to occupy time more

Heard a rumor...... 4/26/2007

I am a frequent and loyal customer at Pasta Too, eat-in and take out. I recently heard a rumor that the food at Pasta Too was even more delicious than before! Well, friends, it's true! Everything we ordered on a recent visit WAS even yummier than before! We had eggplant parm, fetticini alfredo, pizza, hoagies. My son and his wife ordered a veggie pizza and said it was the best they ever had. Perfect crust and perfectly cooked veggies!! Pasta Too's food/service was terrific before but it's 5 star dining now!! Keep it up, Pasta Too! We'll keep coming back! Pros: everything on the menu, friendly employees, clean Cons: horrible wait time but staff tries to make wait pleasant more

came for the food but discovered cute waiters/cooks 2/14/2007

My girlfriends and I go out every weekend. One of the things we enjoy is trying new restaurants. So on a recent Friday night we decided to try Pasa Too. Many of our friends and family said this was a good place to try but the wait can be a pain and we like restaurants with a bar area while we wait. Pasta Too doesn't have a bar area so it was always on the bottom of our list . However, after a movie at the Village, we thought we would try a new place. Off to Pasta too. YES, the wait is horrible. But what we discovered while waiting was very pleasing. The 3 of us voted Pasta Too as the best place for cute guys (employees). Our waiter, Bill, was cute, the busboys were darling (too young), the cooks in the kitchen were yummy! One cook had dark hair with grey and a deep voice, delicious! Oh yeah, and all the food was fabulos! Pros: cute guys, great pizza and calzones, stuffed mushrooms, deserts Cons: THE WAIT, more

best chicken around!! great prices 12/30/2006

I absolutley love this place i have ben going here for years. I have had to talk to managers for reasons other thatn complaints and i have to say that kevin is the most respectable manger i have come across in a long time. he never seems to lose his cool and no matter what station he is working i will be sure to order from him.....\r the service is amazing they take great pride in doing a great job for there customers and that means alot in todays world. though the some of the counter help doesnt express a joyful attitude ....ur server will outdo themselves making sure ur meal is perfect more

New Pizza Guy!! 10/10/2006

To those of you out there who enjoy eating at Pasta Too in Bethel Park..There's a new pizza chef! Repeat customers (like myself) are already aware of the annoyingly long waits for eating in, so I had started ordering to go..well, when the hoagies & pizza started to become a bit under par, I began to stay away from Pasta Too..but my kids enjoy the ravioli & fetticini alfredo..so we were out shopping & they behaved so I told them as a reward we could have dinner at a place of their choosing..even though Pasta Too is surrounded by Wendy's, McDonald's & Burger King, my kids shouted ""Pasta Too, Mom!"". So we pulled in & gave Rhonda, the gracious hostess, our name & stood in the standing room only waiting area for our 15 to 20 minute wait. With nothing better to do while my kids were getting gumballs out of the machine, I scanned the kitchen to see who was cooking. Since eating in many, many times before I have my favorite cooks..long, tall Scott being one of them, excellent with pastas & stuffed mushrooms..noting that Scott was working, I happened to notice a new face. Dark hair, dark eyes, broad shoulders..I inquired. Was told that was John, new pizza guy. Hmm, he's cute, let's try his cooking. That evening I enjoyed THE BEST steak hoagie I've had in a long long time! I always order my steak hoagies with onions & mushrooms grilled with the meat before going on the bun. John did it perfectly! And his pizza was superb! I like my crust thin yet crispy..seems with most pizza shops their thin crust is soggy & when you ask to have it a ""bit well done"" they think it means ""burn it""! But John's pizza was cooked exactly the way I asked for it! Seems as though Pasta Too did it right when they hired John! I will order my hoagies, pizza, etc. no where else but Pasta Too! A little side note..I think the new pizza guy is cute, wonder if he's single? Think I'll inquire about that the next time I'm there! Pros: happy atmosphere, big portions for the money Cons: would not recommend the Shrimp Bisque, male waiters can be a bit testy more

Part 1 of Good Food, Horrible service. 9/21/2006

My family and I decided to try out this place because it was recomended to us through a friend. We went on a Saturday even though we knew it was going to be crowded with a long wait. When they called us for our table with a high chair. It was a 45 minute and 32 second wait. (Yes, I timed it on my cell phone.) Since the restaurant is small and over crowded we were placed in the center of the restauraunt and had the high chair in the midst of all the chaos. With the thought of a server dropping one of there hot trays over my son I asked to be moved to prevent that. Then we waited another 30 minutes. When we FINALLY sat down, and the server greeted us briefly then disapeared. What happen to hospitaility? As dinner went on the food was awesome without a doubt, but the service was terrible. I do recommend their Fried Zuchinni and their Veal. To top it all off, our server dropped one of our left overs whiched happen to be the veal parm. sandwich. She went and had them make another one, but only half of it, which wasn't so bad, so we accepted it. Pros: Excellent Food Cons: Poor service, limited parking and long wait. more

part 2 of Good Food, Horrible Service 9/21/2006

Since we were so satisfied with the food we decided to have the place cater a party for us and so I called in one in one day via TTY (since I am hard of hearing) and that went well. Then I called back the next day to add on to the catering service once again with a TTY and got disconnect some how. I call again and someone answered, which the operater types (female answered) then it goes on to (hold while I explain relay service). I hold and then the relay operater types ( party has hung up) I ask the operater did they hang up or did we get disconnected? The operater said they hung up. I call back and they hang up again for the third time. Now, I go get my neighbor to help me with the call. I call back using t my speaker phone. (Since I can't hear through the head set of the phone) A lady answered and I asked why I got hung up on the second and third call. Her response was that she didn't hang up at all and that the phone got disconnected. Since I didn't feel like arguing, with her. I ask to speak with a manager. She refused and gave me a hard time about it. (Rudely and arguementively tone) Then I ask for the manager once again for the 4th time and that wasn't any better. The manager's response was rude as well and said ""Your wrong!"", and that she (other lady) didnt hang up the phone. I was like forget it and went on with my business. Well calll me picky if you want, but I will never go back to this place. If a rude staff doesn't bother you and your in for a good meal I recommend this place for you. Pros: excellent food Cons: Rude Service more

a delight to lovers of pasta 6/6/2006

As one who has long found delight in the delectable form of food known as pasta, I can say with ease that Pasta Too offers the best taste and value around town. Indubitably, there are often very long waits, but every minute is very worthwhile. I would highly recommend that you stop by sometime as I suspect with certain certainty that you will agree with their slogan ""love at first bite."" Pros: Excellent Taste, Behemoth Proportions, Inexpensive Cons: Long Waits more

Italian eats 5/17/2006

I didn't want to go to a crowded facility and become aggravated about other patrons concerns. So I went at 9pm, to give the restaurant a fair evaluation. As the night wears on, there is no diminished care to the patrons from the staff. The quality of the food isn't effected by the wind down of the evening either. Although I must admit that I didn't expect the ""Pittsburgh touch"" on the Italian fare, it did make me feel like I was still in Pittsburgh. I was expecting to be transported to the boot country. But it did not take away from the excellent cuisine. If you like late night jaunts, the after 8 dinner is highly recommended. Pros: Attentive Staff, Fresh veggies, Family Affair Cons: limited parking, No reservations, peak crowds more

Best Italian food in the burgh! 11/30/2005

Pasta Too has the finest Italian food in Pittsburgh. The chicken parmesan is easily the best I have ever tasted, and the baked ziti, zucchini parmesan, gnocchi, and Sicilian pizza are also outstanding. The olive oil dipping sauce that comes with the bread basket is delicious. It is a very affordable and the portions are so large, I typically have enough leftover for two leftover dinners. The house Chianti is superb, and very inexpensive at $14/bottle. The restaurant is more elegant and much larger than its previous location, but still has a very long wait. The dinner crowd arrives around 3:30 p.m. and does not clear out until after 8:00 p.m, so I suggest going for a late meal. However, it is always worth the wait! Pros: Delicious, Affordable, Friendly Cons: Long wait more

The Best in the Burgh! 10/25/2005

Although it is outside of the city of Pittsburgh, Pasta Too is worth every second of the drive! Their Chicken Parmesan (Dinner or Sandwich) is the best and the biggest I have ever seen! Pros: Big Portions, Inexpensive more

GREAT FOOD 9/18/2005

THIS IS A GREAT RESTAURANT!!! THE FOOD IS WONDERFUL. THE PRICES AND THE PORTIONS ARE TERRIFIC. THE ATMOSPHERE IS VERY NICE. Pros: GREAT FOOD, WONDERFUL PRICES, NICE ATMOSPHERE Cons: PARKING SOMETIMES, LONG LINES SOMETIMES more

Enjoy! 6/28/2005

My wife and I love dining at Pasta Too. When we moved to Bethel Park we always wondered why this restaurant always seemed to be so busy. We gave it a try and now we go there at least once a week and enjoy supporting a local business. The staff is friendly and the food always excellent. The food portions are very generous and we always seem to leave with food for the next day! It's a very popular place so there may be a wait during lunch and dinner hours. However, once seated, you'll be glad you waited! If you want to eat at home, they also offer takeout so give the pizza a try as it's second to none. Pros: huge portions, appetizers, food quality Cons: limited menu, limited parking, can be crowded more

Great Little Italian Place 11/8/2003

We have been dining at Pasta Too ever since it opened about 25 years ago, both at the old Library Road place and now at the entrance to South Park. It is absolutely the greatest Red Sauce Italian restaurant we have ever eaten at. We take all our relatives and friends there when they come to visit. Ambiance at the South Park place is real Tuscan with a great ambiance. Waitstaff are always courteous, helpful. Food is outstanding. And the portions! Only problem is that it is so popular that you better get there before 3:30 p.m. or after 8:00 if you don't want to wait and wait and wait to get in! Pros: Great food, Always top quality, Fresh cooked to order Cons: NONE, absolutely NONE more

Never to return 11/30/2002

This use to be my favorite restaurant and the food is still very good, but the service is terrible and the staff was very rude the last time I was in there. I will not return and would not recommend it to anyone else due to this reason. They were not rude to me but the hostess was very rude to an older couple and that just ruined the restaurant for me. Pros: Good food Cons: Crowded, Rude staff more
