Reliable and Accurate for me! 1/29/2008

Last fall on a Friday ,about noon, I had a problem with my Maytag dryer. It would not 'fire-up'. I talked to Par's over the phone and they talked me thru a few troubleshooting steps, and recommended I pull out the Burner-Solenoid assembly. (I am sort of handy) \r I took it to their shop and was told all Techs were out on service, and maybe it would be fixed Saturday. I got a call about 4pm Friday that it was fixed. I picked it up, installed it, and it is working FINE.\r Par's has serviced my washer, dryer, and dishwashers in 2 homes a total of 3 times in the past 36 years, and I have found them to be FAIR and Reliable.\r Yes; service guys have bad days too, But Par's is GOOD by ME!\r Jim from Palos. more

sold me wrong part 10/10/2007

They correctly diagnosed the problem for my ge range, It wouldn't lite, but sold me the wrong part, a carborundum igniter, which doesn't put out enough current to open the gas safety valve. I had to cut the wires to put the old plug on so now I'm stuck with it. Now I have to buy a Norton.\r \r \r Each type of ignitor has a different operating current rating and the appropriate model bimetal gas valve\r must be used: NORTON ignitors limit the operating current flow in the circuit to 3.2 to 3.6 amps.\r CARBORUNDUM ignitors limit the operating current flow in the circuit to 2.5 to 3.0 amps.\r (A special ?powder-blue? flat ceramic NORTON model is available as an adaptive replacement for many CARBORUNDUM models). more

Par's 11/28/2005

I only dealt with Par's once and that was enough. I called them to fix my refrigerator. They were recommended by a friend who had a positive experince. I told my boss that I would be late because I had a person coming to fix my fridge. I was told by Par's that they would send someone over between 8 and 9 AM. A person did not get there until 11:30. After working on it for about two hours I was told he would have to go back to his shop and get a part. An hour later I got a call and said that they did not have the part in stock. They did fix it later the next day ( they were late again). I also had to miss another day of work. more
