Mechanical staff was supposed to fix break lights on my car. Left the dealership with break lights still broken. Came back the next day and had an argument with the mechanic and supervisor instead of apologizing or trying to make the situation better. You have to be joking. Very bad experience. more

Car Damage 3/17/2014

My car was damaged during routine service. Dealership did not bring to my attention. I noticed the damage upon seeing the car in the lot after the service. Be sure to do a 'walkaround' at beginning the ending of service. more

Service is great from the door but after that forget about it. Make sure you get everything before you leave and all your questions answered. Customer service is the worst. They do not return calls and they are slow with paper work. Signed contract 4-5 times because they kept making mistakes. Promised me one rate and when paperwork was printed the rate jumped.. READ EVERYTHING carefully. Now I see why they change so much for the doc fees. more

My experience was very unpleasant, probably due to my mistake to take my car to this dealer on a snowstorm day. The car was scheduled for a recall. The dealer could not provide transportation because of a 10 miles distance. They closed the service at 2 pm because of snowstorm, and called me at noon to pick up the car. I asked them to leave the car in the parking lot, as I had a spare key, and they agreed. Shortly, they did not. The sales department was still open but could not open the garage door, and they asked me to leave the building because they will close. They declined my request for a loaner and told me to walk on highway 4 in the middle of the snowstorm at single digit temperatures to get to a bus station. It took me 3 hours to arrive home, while my child was waiting for me to come home. Best luck with them. more

I bought the car on 1/11/14 and regret it every day. They gave me a car with front end damage (bumper was scraped and nicked in several spots). They said they would not be happy until we were happy like 7 times, but then proceeded to touch up the paint on a plastic bumper on a brand new car. We all know how this will look in a year. They only used one coat of spray, so the black is still visible. This is an ongoing saga. Also, our sales guy told us we could start the car using BlueLink app, but as it turns out that feature is NOT available on our car, since we do not have auto start installed. We were leased a car that was damaged and did not have what we specifically were told it did. Take it or leave it is their tactic, but leaving it would be considered repossession. Don't do it to yourself. You too will have regrets. more

Lost my MPG odometer inspection 1/17/2014

Went here to have my odometer inspected for Hyundai's MPG program. (Remember how a few years ago, Hyundai was caught lying about the MPG of its vehicles? They agreed to give a gas rebate to people who bought them, and this program required you to get your mileage inspected.) They were quick to inspect it. I got a bad feeling- like they weren't even taking this seriously, and that it might not get sent in. So I asked for a receipt, documenting that the mileage was inspected. A few weeks later, I got an email from Hyundai telling me that I still needed to get my mileage checked. After dealing with them on the phone and through email, they told me that Paramus Hyundai said it had no record of my inspection. Luckily I kept the receipt that documented that this inspection happened. While waiting for the inspection, I visited the showroom. I saw a salesperson yelling at a female customer, and he shouted curses at her. I bought my Hyundai at a different Hyundai dealership that was further from where I live. It agreed to give me a better price than Paramus Hyundai, and was more friendly. I would only return here for free MPG inspections, and make sure to get a receipt and document your visits. more

Horrible customer service and horrible vehicle service 1/8/2014

This dealership does not even deserve one star. My experience with Route 4 Paramus Hyundai was horrible. I have never been treated so poorly as a customer in my life. The service manager and sales manager should be ashamed of how they talk to and treat their customers. I will never do business with this dealer and Hyundai as a whole ever again. I advise others to never buy from Hyundai unless you want poorly made cars, horrible service, and extreme financial burdens. In the two years that I have leased my Elantra, I have put over $2000, not including routine maintenance, in this “brand new car”. My recent experience with the service department cost me over $1100. With only about 25,000 miles on my car I had to replace the rear brake pad and rotors. When I questioned how the brakes and rotors could break so quickly, I was told I must not be a good driver because I ride my brakes too hard or I continuously drive with the emergency brake down. Needless to say this was not the best way to speak to a costumer. I paid to have the brake pads and rotors replaces because the breaks are not covered under “America’s Best Warranty”. Four days later my brakes sounded worse than when I originally brought the car in to be serviced. I was told as long as the problem was with the brakes there would be no additional charges to fix the problem. Naturally this time the problem was with my front brakes which were not covered under the service I had done less than a week ago. I questioned why when I brought in the car the first time and the car was inspected the problem with the front breaks was not detected. I was given a lot of excuses but no answer as to why they did not check the front brakes when they inspected the car. In total I was physically I at the service department 3 times in a week, without a car for 5 days and was never offered a rental, and paid over $1100. Speaking with the customer service representative, the service manager, and the sales manager is worthless and a waste of time because they do not want to hear anything but the sound of your credit card being swiped. I have filed a formal complaint with Hyundai and I am awaiting a response. more
