Paraco Gas

Horrible Obnoxious Customer Service.. TONS of hidden fees. \r I closed on my home last year and continued to use Paraco Gas for my stove and drier because they were the company servicing the home. At house closing the company faxed over the contract. It was one page. I signed it and faxed it back. Fast forward 1 year later.. I converted to natural gas. Called Paraco to cancel service and was informed that I was going to be charged $120 restocking fee. I went back to my one page contract and searched for this written somewhere.... It wasn't to be found. I called Paraco again and was informed that it was on my contract. After a whole round of discussions and emails, I was informed that I was only sent the first page of the contract when signing up for Paraco. The extra missing pages were never sent to me. I never signed them or initialed them. It seems odd to me to have a whole bunch of stipulations and fees attached to the last two pages of a contact and not require the customer to sign off. Basically they can make up whatever they want at the end of any contact??? \r They need to spend some time and resources training their staff on customer service and efficiency. I would NEVER recommend them. more

The worst company, they lie they say they will not charge your credit card until they deliver, then they immediately charge your card and tell you your delivery will take 3-5 days, also be prepared to stay on hold for at least 20 min at a time. Very unprofessional ,stay close to home with a locally owned company .cancell and switch more

The worst company ever. I purchased a home and paid for the gas in the tank at closing. I was misled into thinking I was now a Paraco customer, but when I ran out of gas and ordered it took them 2 weeks to deliver, I finally get the gas and everything is good and then all of the sudden a month and half later a lock is put on the tank. I call up and Paraco tells me I do not have an account with them. In order to set up an account I would have to pay an additional 150 dollar leak check 10 dollar regulatory fee and a 90 dollar tank lease fee. I tell them forget it take your tank back. They allege I used 60 dollars worth of gas in that one month just for cooking and charge me an additional 30 dollar restocking fee. I am still waiting for my refund check. Under no circumstances should this company be used. If they succeed in buying up all the gas companies and they become the only game in town, I will convert to an electric stove and oven. I have to echo the other reviewer. We chose them when we moved in a few years ago. We pay a yearly rental fee for our tank but barely need delivery as I only use the gas for cooking. They were quick to remind us when our rental fee was due but it is two and a half weeks and counting that I'm waiting for a gas delivery. Customer service is incompetent, the most quoted answer is I don't know, I can't tell you... Two weeks of not being able to use my stove. I called them to remove their tank and will be getting another company. I once called my oil company All Island fuel for a delivery on a Sunday got a call back Mon. morning and a delivery by the afternoon with no contract. That's how you are supposed to run a business, and that's why every chance I get I tell people about them. On the other hand I will be telling everyone I know about my experience with Paraco which will not be favorable(an understatement). Pros: null Cons: null more

"The quality of our service is only as good as the Paraco people who provide it." is what the owner wrote about the company. That about sums it up. The service personel and customer service reps are rude obnoxious and will enter your property or home without your permission. I have NEVER had as bad an experience with any company in any home that I have ever owned either here on Long Island, in Miami Florida or North Carolina and that says alot.
