I've been a loyal customer of Ernesto for several years, and when he opened his new location right next to Papillon, I decided to follow him regardless of being concerned about his poor business ethics. And that turned out to be one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made. While being Papillon's employee, I've known him as a very pleasant, energetic hairdresser with positive energy. Well, that has changed dramatically since he opened his own business. I guess, he just can't handle all that stress and pressure. Ernesto's new salon looks great, that's a fact. But he over-processed my hair, literally burned the hell out of it. When I asked him to fix it, he yelled at me and asked me to leave the shop and come back someday else! Very few people made me cry, and now he's one of them. I heard that a few other clients of his went through the same experience. These five-star rating is actually for Papillon, where I went back for a corrective color. They did exactly what I wanted, and my hair looks great again. But more importantly, they treated me with respect and appreciation. more

Papillon has the most AMAZING staff on board, and that reflects in everything - from their friendly, responsive customer service, to extremely talented hair stylists and colorists. Since I've started going to Papillon, I am constantly receiving compliments on how great my hair looks! To give you a better feeling of how good the guys are, I should tell you that I used to get my hair done ONLY at top-notch Manhattan salons... well, not anymore! Papillon's blow outs and haircuts are BY FAR superior, and a good color department turned into an unparalleled one with an addition of L'Oreal's color educator. I totally love each and every visit to Papillon, and choosing this salon for any hair needs is a no-brainer. more

Ernesto, Papillon's BEST Hairstylist and Colorist haS MOVED TO 377 NEW YORK AVENUE (corner of NY Avenue and Elm St.) He does the most amazing color I've ever seen and I am proud to have followed him to his new location!!!! He is so so talented, friendly and the atmosphere at the new salon is EDGY and AMAZINGLY STYLISH!! more

Salon has been around for 25+years but has changed hands; some stylists are okay, watch out for colorists; a few have recently left, one really messed up my hair Pros: good hair stylists, not sure about colorists Cons: not sure who to recommend more

anyone know where anjelica the old colorist is working? someone said she was at the cactus salon right down the street but i went there and they have no idea who she is so i guess it wasnt trueand the receptionists done know either more
