An Experience to Remember!! Be Warned!! 6/2/2011

STAY AWAY!!! I became a patient of Dr. Paige's when my original doctor left the practice. My first visit with her was for my yearly exam. She appeared very non-personal. I felt as though I was just a name on a clipboard to her. But since this was just a pap smear, I figured no biggie...she is just busy. Fast forward about six months later. My hubby and I found out that we were expecting. We go see Dr. Paige with a list of questions in-hand since this would be our first child. The triage nurse greets us with an “everything you need to know” packet and tells us this should answer our questions. Call me crazy, but I thought we would get answers from the doctor, not a pamphlet. During the ultrasound Dr. Paige tells us that she doesn’t see anything and maybe I am not as far along as I thought. She tells us that we will need to comeback in a couple of days for more bloodwork, then she leaves the room for me to get dressed. You can only image the questions that are running through our heads at this point. After I am dressed she comes back in and tells me to have some bloodwork done before I leave and she is gone. Not one time did she ask us if we had any questions, or does she sit us down to tell us what our options are at this point. We left with a bunch of questions and a lot of bad thoughts.\r Over the next week or so, we found out that we were miscarrying and would have to undergo an outpatient procedure. I never once felt as though she was really concerned about my well-being. No questions of how we were doing or feeling, no “I’m sorry for your loss”..nothing. Even after the procedure when she came in the room during the follow-up appt, she didn’t even sit down. She stood at the door as if this was just a stop-through on her way to somewhere else. \r The only up-side to this entire event, was that I had this experience early-enough to be able to find a new doctor. She is not someone that ever made me feel welcome, or cared for. Definitely not someone that I could feel truly comfortable with during an upcoming pregnancy. The other reviews about the staff and money are true too. The day we found out about the miscarriage, they were sure to remind us that we had a balance of $10.00 that need to be paid!! Take it for what you want but this is a short-version of our bad horrible experience. There were many more things that happened with Dr. Paige that I left out… \r more

Dr. Paige 12/23/2010

I was a patient of this practice for some years, until my doctor left and I became a patient of Dr. Paige. I noticed the office staff eventually changed and became unfriendly and not patient-centered. I remember being informed I needed a procedure and given a pamphlet about it. On the day of the procedure I was really afraid and tearing up because I really didn't know what to expect. Dr. Paige still showed no compassion and barely gave any information, until she reviewed my chart right before the procedure. I was told I didn't need to have it performed. My pap was negative! more

WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD 3/30/2010

I had to wait an hour to go back and wait another and still had to get redressed to find out if anyone was planning on coming in while i was 37 weeks pregnant. While in the hospital in labor doctor freeman refuse to come into the hospital saying that i am not in labor and was lucky to be staying at the hospital. I gave birth that morning btw... She told me that even though I am a pregnancy pro that I dont know what I am talking about. She was just so rude. She ruined the whole experience because I have quick one hour births but because she refuse to even come in I had a ten hour torture. Pros: Dr. Cannon was kind, I survived the torture Cons: Doctor Freeman is evil, wait time more

Great Practice 3/23/2010

My ob is doctor Cannon and I have had great experiences with her through both of my pregnancies. She is very easy going and attentive, and my husband was very comfortable with her as well. She always took my concerns seriously and took her time with each appointment. I also really like Dr. Paige, she is very thorough, takes the time to address all questions and concerns, and has a great bedside manner. I do agree with other posts, I am not a fan of Dr. Freeman. She can be abrasive. more

Dr. Freeman is the worst!!! 1/28/2009

Please don't have Dr. Freeman as your doctor. She was very rude and forces her views and opinions on others. I had to switch doctors. Now Dr. Paige is a sweetheart. I thank God there was another doctor to choose from. \r \r Ask Dr. Freemen how many times a patient has requested another doctor? Bottom line, she is Satan. Pros: Nice office Cons: Dr. Freeman brings the whole office down. more

Dr.Freeman 1/23/2008

Dr.Freeman is the best doctor I have ever had! I had been through heck and back with Florida doctors before moving here in my 6th month of pregnancy. I started seeing Dr.Freeman while I was having complications such as labial cysts that would not go away and alot of pain to the point I couldnt move at only 18 years old. She took GREAT care of me and delivered my son through cesarean, performed surgery to remove my cyst and I havent had any complications since. Plus, my scar is so small and so light that no one can believe I had a baby. She is the best doctor in Charlotte! -Jessica Edwards more

LOVE THIS PRACTICE! 12/10/2007

Absolutely love this practice! Dr. Paige came highly recommended as a specialist for women delivering over age 35. When my husband and I planned our 2nd child, Dr. Paige was very compassionate and informed us of all the ins and outs of family planning - specifically for someone over age 35 like myself. All exams were painless, including the removal of my IUD. She recommended that I familiarize myself with the other 2 doctors - LOVE THEM so I am NOT biased! This practice gave me the confidence I needed with delivering my son many miles away from our hometown with no immediate relatives nearby. We are now planning number 3 and I am so confident that I have the best female practice in the Charlotte area. These women are experienced, educated, gentle and provide you with the personal interaction to alleviate any concerns. To the previous reviewer, all I can say is communication is the key. I'm convinced that these doctors will address any concerns brought to their attention. The staff is always very professional and courteous. I read the previous review while searching for the practice newest location to send to a friend and was quite surprised. LOVE THIS PRACTICE! Pros: Ambience is good, Service is professional, Doctors are educated and inform patients through dialogue and literature Cons: Limited Parking but they have 2 locations within 10 minutes of each other. Usually parking is not a problem. more

Poor patient education 3/16/2007

I had to wait 50 minutes, undressed in a room, for a 3 minute IUD check while I listened to Dr. Freeman discuss dietary concerns with a patient in the next room. I finally had to call the front desk and ask if I was going to be seen that day. I was also unhappy with the lack of patient education I received about fibroids and their treatment. When my IUD was inserted I also received limited information on the actual procedure and side effects. I felt like this was just a routine procedure for the doctor and I was an anonymous person. Pros: pretty waiting room, location Cons: poor parking, long waits for physician, poor patient education, more
