So there are three Paesano's in San Antonio. There's the riverwalk one which is the only one listed on city search but there's also one in the quarry as well as another location on highway 1604. I suppose the riverwalk adds to the ambiance but they serve the same food for the same price. Let me say this is one of the better italian restaurants in a city saturated with texmex. \r
They have fantastic pasta dishes but I prefer the seafood. They serve bread which is always a plus but you should order a pre-meal snack. The shrimp paesano is the best thing to order by far - get it as an appetizer and then order one of the pasta dishes or the fish. It's all fantastic. \r
They also have a wine server (i don't know the actual term) but he's a guy who is thoroughly educated in wine to help in the ordering process...Classy. Ask for help, the man is always dead on. \r
This is one hell of a place to take a date. It's moderately priced for a very nice meal. For you and your date and a bottle of wine your looking at somewhere around $100 even which, as expensive as that sounds, is sopmewhat reasonable. It sure as hell isn't as expensive as Ruth Chris (by the way - overrated). \r
Honestly, this is a great dinner place with great food, good, but more importantly, knowledgable service, and classy atmosphere. Take your date here, or your parents, or your dates parents and you'll find a middle of the road (price wise) resturant that everyone can find something they like. Give it a shot.
Pros: food, wine, date spot
Cons: veal no steak
