Bad food, good service 3/14/2009

My friend and I went there last night and everything was fine, until they brought or our order. It was plain awful. The server was very attentive and suggested something else instead, so we had to order again, though we didn't have to wait too long. Overall, the experience was fine, I just wish the food was better. Pros: Pleasant atmosphere, nice stuff Cons: Horrible food more

Always good. 11/18/2007

I go here regularly. The food is always good and the staff is friendly. I like to order a couple of different items and then share them. Sometimes it can be crowded and noisy. One time I ordered some ribs during a busy time and they were not as warm as I liked. There was no problem in exchanging them. Very pleasant atmosphere. more

Highly over-rated 3/4/2007

Alright.. this is a perfect example of a completely commercial restaurant which has become trendy for whatever reason.. probably because of the designer drinks and the modern ambiance. But that's really all you pay for. The food is mediocre in general.. but for the price is completely absurd. I've had the several dishes here and have always been disappointed. You could get better food from your local mom and pop shop. Most unnerving was when I ordered the wod-seared lamb. The lamb was nothing but 1/8"" little crumbs of lamb that looked like they were the scraps shaved off the bone. There were about two pieces of regular-sized meat. And by regular sized I mean around 1/8"" think and 1"" in diameter.. about. Which is still small. My advise would be to support your local, independently owned restaurant.. most likely it will be better priced.. and better food. And at least you won't be supporting some fattened, greedy commercial company that peddles sh*t for food. Pros: Good drinks Cons: Over-priced food using poor quality ingredients at a steep price more

consistent 12/4/2006

pf changs consistently offers great food & good customer service-- hence, the hours of waiting. our recent faves include the succulent walnut shrimp with melonballs and chow fun noodles. while this place is ideal for business luncheons, group/individual dates, the hours of waiting will not fare well with those with hungry, yet high-energy toddlers. Cons: wait is too long more

Chinese food for Americans 7/8/2005

While traveling in Texas I once ate at an Italian restaurant, big mistake. It is hard to find good Italian food in an area that chicken fries everything. My point is that if you want authentic Chinese food make sure it is a small family run restaurant in a part of town that caters to Chinese locals. P.F. Changs is a Chinese Bistro that provides you with tastes you would expect in a shopping mall food court. Dont expect delicate subtle flavors you may encounter from the Iron Chef, this stuff is heavy western style Chinese food you would find in the heart of Texas. Chinese food for Americans, and while you are there dont be afraid to ask for some A-1 sauce to go with your meal. If you do not like this style of food then check out some of the restaurants in China Town. Pros: nice place, average service, outdoor seating Cons: food, food, food more

fresh and tasty 12/17/2002

The ambience is excellent. It is a definate hot spot. The food is excellent and the service is great. Pros: prices, parking, service Cons: crowded more

no good 9/16/2002

i don't know what the hype is all about. i've given this restaurant three tries but it struck out. the only good thing is the decor. don't go for the food. Pros: decor, service Cons: food, food, food more

Fusion for the masses 7/8/2002

This Phoenix-based chain is consistently good. Most of the sauces contain a lot of flavor and soy. This location is a nice option when the nearby Cheesecake Factory is busy (Cheesecake pulls in more traffic). The garlic noodles, lettuce wraps and pot stickers are excellent. Nice service and ambiance. Big patio. Pros: Good service Cons: Busy on weekends more

great 6/5/2002

Great Food...Long Wait 5/29/2002

There are times when you might have to wait 90 minutes for a table at this PF Chang's. The new Pasadena one isn't nearly as crowded. The food is really great. Creative dishes, plus a number of traditional favorities. Try the chicken lettuce cup appetizers to start, and you can't miss with any of the chicken dishes. Nice atmosphere, but hit and miss service, undoubtedly the result of the crowds. Pros: great food Cons: long wait more
