The best steak you've ever had is the best you've ever eaten or been able to afford. The Outback serves a decent steak for $19. Add King Crab Legs for $8.95 and an appetizer of Coconut Shrimp (which I've always enjoyed there...in Florida, they'd probably think I was nuts...Florida has the best Coconut Shrimp and sauce I've ever tasted).
We're talking about $35 for a meal (salad and potato included), compared to $36+ for just the steak.
Ruth's Chris has a better steak, as do Shula's, Morton's, The Capitol, Peter Luger's, and countless other restaurants, but, if you're looking for a decent meal at a reasonable price, you'll be okay at The Outback.
There really should be separate categories for steakhouses and chains. Try The Outback; enjoy yourself. Don't let the steak snobs get to you...we've all been there...at least I hope we have.
