Nobody Does It Better 1/14/2011

Two comments about someone else's prior review:\r \r 1. It is GOOD that your cats "had" to stay overnight; this allows a follow-up check by a veterinarian the next day to ensure that there are no complications. That's called competent veterinary medicine - not inconvenience.\r \r 2. The fact that a receptionist said she did not know how to remove your cat's harness hardly means that the veterinarian did not know and did not remove the harness during surgery. Whether M.D. or DVM, doctors simply do not perform surgeries on an animal that is still wearing a restraint. They'd have cut it off if they'd had to.\r \r The late "Doc" Smith was a brilliant and highly respected veterinarian. His son, Ed Smith DVM, worked with his father for years and carries on his dad's legacy of veterinary brilliance. The other veterinarians at the practice do likewise.\r \r If curb appeal and sophisticated, insipid city gossip are your priority, Lawrence and Johnson County are just up the interstate. HORRIBLE! 11/24/2010

I must say, of all the different vets I have been to, this place was by far the worst. We took our cats there to get fixed and they had to stay overnight. One of our cats was wearing a harness when we took her in, when we picked her up, she was still in the harness. The vet lady claimed she couldn't figure out how to take it off. I'm sorry but if you're a vet, you should know how to take a harness off. Every time I've picked my pets up there they have been absolutely filthy. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The people are extremely rude and seem to be a little incompetent. Dr. Ed Smith seemed to be the only one there that cared out of the whole staff. This vet and our many experiences with them have been absolutely horrible. more

History of Exemplary Care 9/13/2008

This vet hospital has been around for decades and it has given outstanding care for decades. Perhaps it is not as fancy as other clinics, but rest assured if this clinic lacks in frills and small talk it is because they are busy taking care of the animals you love. Dr. Ed Smith is exemplary in his knowledge and ability. more

THEY'RE AWESOME!! 9/24/2007

I totally agree with Ellissa. We (my family) have lots of different animals, and to make a long story short. We have ALWAYS been pleased with them!!! more

LOVE IT 7/17/2006

THIS IS A GREAT VET, PEOPLE ARE NICE AS CAN BE, AND YOU JUST CAN'T BEAT THE PRICES! AND THERE IS NO WAITING 2 WEEKS FOR AN APPT. IT'S WALK IN FIRST COME FIRST SERVE, I LOVE THAT. more

Not recommended! 9/11/2005

I would jsut say that this vet is "ok". Their prices is what keeps them in business. This is a walk-in clinic that does not take appointments. They treat all types of animals. Their front desk help are not professional and are pretty darn rude! I took my dog in and he was barking at some cats. The receptionist walks out and yelled at me. So, I took my dog outside until they called my name. The vet was pretty nice, though. I really think that if she got some new front desk help, she would be a lot better off. I won't be back anytime soon! more
