Ossine Shoes & Gifts

My husband went in for some walking shoes. He has a health issue that his feet will swell a bit I mean a bit I not talking a serious bloat issue here. He tried on the shoes and walked around the store for 15 to 20 minutes while shopping and looking at other products. They have a hard cement covered surface. Not a carpet surface. After wearing them for 15 to 20 minutes he purchased them. \r The next day we put them on to wear them and his feet were a bit swollen that day. He walked around the carpeted house for about 10 minutes before he decided that they pinched his pinky toe and decided not to wear them.\r The following day he put them on to see how they felt and walked around again on the carpet and decided they were not comfortable.\r I had read some reviews about this store and wanted to verify what I had read. So on the bottom of the insert's a put a dot with a marker. The only way you would see it is if you knew to pull the insert out flip it over and look for the tiny black dot.\r We took them back and the owner said they were not new that they had been walked in outside. I know for a fact they had NOT been walked in outside and said to the owner ""remember he walked and shopped in your store for 15 minutes before he purchased them""? The owner admitted he had remembered but still refused to take them back as NEW. He gave my husband a store credit for 80% of the value because he said he now had to discount them due to their condition of being ""used"" not new.\r 2 weeks later we went in to use the store credit. He said to me ""look these look like the exact same shoes I bought and he is selling them as NEW"". I took out the inserts flipped them over and sure enough there was the tiny black dot.\r \r While waiting for my husband to use is 80% refund I was talking to ossine shoe sales representative that was there. He was very frank and told me that the owners being from China, had a connection to purchase seconds directly from the China factory that makes Jordon Brand shoes and products.\r This sales representative told me that the owners get many complaints on the Jordon Brand yes including ALL Air Jordan products.\r \r *****Be VERY aware if you are buying ANY ""Jordan Brand shoes or clothing"" there is a 99.999% chance you are buying a ""reject"", ""irregular"" AKA ""a second"". They may have a decent price for Jordon products but you wont be getting a quality product. \r No reputable shoe store will carry Jordon rejects that dont pass inspections, but Ossine will!\r \r Besides having very poor customer service...\r The owners Lie and Cheat their customers out of money.\r They sell ""irregulars and seconds"" as top quality products.\r They lie and sell what they determine to be ""used"" shoes as NEW after refunding only %80 of the value because they cannot sell them as New any longer!. \r They sell ""used"" shoes as new for FULL price.\r They deceive and Con customers into buying top quality products when they KNOW they are selling seconds.\r They use their lack of quality english speaking skills as a way to be rude and rip off customers.\r If you read the reviews, you will see that they pay their employees to write positive reviews to boost their ratings and to off set the negative reviews.\r The owners are unprofessional, rude, dishonest liars!\r You can get the same prices at Ross with a guaranteed return policy and 100% of your money back.\r Check out YELP and all the negative reviews there too.\r \r Wont shop here again, it's a waste of time and money. more

I have been buying my shoes at Ossine now for 14 years, would have been lots longer had I known about them sooner (not to mention the money saved). I go to Ossine for my runners, hikers, casual's, trendy's, and flip flops for the summer. You can find it all at Ossine, not only do they sell shoes but they also carry a small array of t-shirts, hoodies, socks, sport wear (warm ups) and insoles, hell, they'll even groom your dog too! \r Most importantly, I do have to add my whole reason for posting a review was for the free personal consultation Mr. Ossine provides, he has been my savior when it comes to picking the right running shoes. For years i have had pain in the arch of my foot when running. After seeing two different foot Dr.'s for the pain, both recommended surgery as the only option. Long story short, after Ossine's personal consultation and buying the shoes he recommended I haven't experienced pain since. The proof is in the pudding on this one, not only did he cure my pain, the shoes he recommended were on the cheaper end of his runners, proving he's not just sucking blood to boost sales. I have always been satisfied by finding the shoe I want, the size I need, and the cheapest price in town. How much more could you ask for! more

We have purchased shoes from here in the past and had not had an issue until just recently. I purchased a pair of North Face shoes for Christmas that I took with me on vacation. The first day that I wore them, the stitch in the toe started to come undone. By the end of the 10 day trip, the stitch was completely exposed. I took the shoes back to the store 13 days after I purchased them and was told that I abused them, and that they would not issue a full credit. They would give me 80% of the previous value to be used on any other shoe. I think it's a little ridiculous that after less than 2 weeks they are not willing to guarantee their shoes. I find it even crazier that they believe that I purposely damaged the shoes. I will not be back. more

I drive 50 miles to buy shoes at this store. I just love the selection and prices. The owners are Korean and have lived here for years. They are great people. I have had shoes that came unstiched after several months (1 time only) and I took them back. Mr.Ossine had me take them into a shoe repair shop where they were fixed, free of charge to me. I have never had any problems with any of the other numerous pairs of shoes I have bought over the years. more

I love this place. Last time I bought a shoe there was around three years ago. My dad brought me there to buy me a birthday gift. I wanted the new jordan retro 8 -blue/purple that was going to be release 3 days from that day. I browse throughout the store, but there was nothing I wanted until i saw the retro 8 sitting on the counter. I ask them if i can buy it and the lady said that they won't release them until Saturday. So I sigh... and ask them if i can hold them since i really want them for my birthday. She said ""you know what, if you can buy it now we'll sell it to you?"" I was shocked, so my dad paid for it and we left happy. I was very glad to have them since that Saturday release at foot locker was sold out immediately, i had mine before it even came out. HIGHLY RECOMMEND more

I had a very bad experience here. The owner of the store helped my husband. We measured and needed a wide size, but the owner didn't have them so he sold us what he said would be wide enough. He was wrong and of course he will not allow us to return them. The shoe fit is miserable. This guy is just a owner of a shoe store. He is not a foot expert. He tried to contradict everything our pediatrist wanted us to purchase. He just wants you to make a purchase of course. His prices are way too high so expect to pay full retail for everything. Now that I think about it, I had a bad experience there 10 years ago with one of my children! I should have known better than to return. I think one star is too high of a rating! more

i am currently employed at this store and i really like working here i have worked her for a long time now and i have learned a lot. we do not have a website but feel free to come in and order some shoes at a low and amazing price. The reason we do not accept certain returns is because it does not meet the standards of our return policy. If the shoes have been worn or is after a long period of time then we can not take them back plus you must also have your reciept. We do offer free foot analyzations. Ms. and Mr. ossine have a great business our main goal at the store is to help customers find the shoe that will fit there feet right and help them overall. They are very nice and respectfull to people and i have had a great experience working here it has made me the adult i am today. more

Ive bought my shoes for the last 10 years from Ossine Shoes after discovering them driving by, wish had found sooner, Huge selections, Great prices, free foot exams that actually recomend shoes based on the needs of your foot, not some ""girl on the wall""! I went to Ossine shoes about 2 years ago. Mr. Ossine had me take off my shoes and do an assessment on my feet. He put me in the Brook addiction walker, and sold me some great inserts for flat feet. If you are overweight, have flat feet, or knees that hurt go to this store and buy this shoe. Since that day I have bought 3 more pairs of the shoe as it wears out and I am going today to get more. Mr. Ossine really cares and my foot doctor now sends people there. He says the inserts are better than the customized inserts he makes. And I don't wear the custom ones anymore. I can walk through Walmart for hours now and I am okay. I wear these shoes everyday. Also if your feel hurt get the insoles. His wife does seem a little snotty but the dogs are cute and I think it is just a cultural thing, and he really can't get anyone else to understand feet like he does. So make sure he helps you himself or he supervises what his staff does. His prices are great, and if I ordered the same shoe on the internet I would pay $20 more. they have great prices IF you know what you want and are 100% sure of your purchase. Don't expect to be able to return anything easily. Also, if it's busy there don't even bother going in because there is often only one guy working the floor and even though he does a good job he is still just one guy (although he seems to know what he's talking about - which is more than can be said for most sporting goods stores that sell shoes). Pros: Great if you know what you want and are sure. Cons: No returns. more

I do not recommend that you buy from this outfit snotty attitude will not take back returns that I was not satisfied with told to send it back to the company. How many stores in salt lake do you go too that tell you that you have to ship the item back to the manufacture to get your money. They also gave me a receipt to send with the item that was more than I paid for! Dishonest!!!!! Pros: may have your size Cons: Snotty don't care about you after sale more

I was in Ossines for over an hour when I finally got ""helped"" I had questions on 2 types of shoes. I was given vague and obvious answers from the 16 year old who works there who I over heard say that he ""used to work there then he quit, then he works there again only so he can get a shoe discount"" Pros: many shoes to choose from Cons: Nobody to help you choose which one is right for you. poor and slooooooow help. more

I was having lots of pain with my knees and my doctor recommended Ossines so I went. They had me take off my shoes and socks and walk while observing my stride and gait. Then they recommended shoes for overpronation. I didn't know what that was until I got home and looked it up on the internet but let me tell you, they were right on the money! From the moment I walked in my new Brooks I knew I had the right shoe for me!!! My knee pain was viturally eliminated, my feet felt great, and I went back and bought a second pair. I stumbled onto Ossine's shoes years ago. I am a die hard shoe guy and when I went to their old location I was in 7th heaven. Their new location is 10 times the store with the best selection and by far the best prices anywhere. I have to visit at least 2 times per month to check out new styles and colors. By far they beat any other shoe store around with selection and price. It's well worth the trip for pretty much any type of shoe your looking for even team sports. Pros: Best selection & price. Cons: They would have 3 times the customers if they would advertise. more
