Optical Shop of Nyack

i have been buying glases from this store for 2 years.\r Service is execellent. .Guys the optician was very patience with me, when it comes on to looking good with my glasses, I am fussy, the other competition Eyevoltion they dont even want to spend time with you.\r Crazy, wacky people who want to give this place a bad Rep, dont know what they are talking about. I am a very long supporter of stores in Nyack and went there to buy glasses. I knew they were more expensive ($600 for one pair of reading glasses!) than glasses I could get almost anywhere else but still wanted to buy local. I was mis-informed of the arrival of the glasses on 2 occassions and went to the store each time that they were promised to arrive...only to find that they were not there and no one bothered to call with any update on the arrival (finding parking was hard each time and I took off early from work the 2nd time). After leaving a message for them, the woman handling my purchase called me and I was understandably upset. She in turn was unapologetic and belittling. She was simply not accountable. It had been well over a week since I placed the order and I had nothing. She canxed my order for me and still...nothing...no apology and no accountablity. When you shop local, you do so because you have an obligation to the town you love to support the businesses that keeps the town relevant. This is a store I whole heartedly can NOT support and it saddens me to do so. After my first ""your glasses are not ready even though I said I would have them today but didn't bother to call"" experience, several people had told me about their less than positive experience there as well and told me to go to Eyevolution (which is also based in Nyack and supports many fundraisers in the town).\r more

I've been wearing glasses since I was 6 years old and never have I felt like i was in such good hands.\r i've now purchased 2 glasses from this shop and i will not go anywhere else. \r first, the owner is so helpful. she is patient and truly knows her stuff! i walked in asking for the 'johnny depp' glasses and she knew the exact ones from the academy awards i was referencing. she didn't have the exact pair, but told me someplace else that i can find them! how honest and self-less! i decided to see what she did have.. and her selections were just as good. she had a great variety including a lot of really awesome and unique vintage frames. \r this was the first shop i've been where i could tell that she wanted me to look good and feel good wearing their product. \r i have been in many times for adjustments and it's always a pleasure. \r what really took the cake was when i broke my glasses at work, rendering me blind. I ran to the shop and the owner gave me some contacts and solution so that i could finish my day at work!! well, the next day i went back and ordered my next pair of frames and had another great experience. \r i highly recommend this shop. it's in the heart of downtown nyack. along with a great selection of frames they also have really cool accessories i have never seen anywhere else. there's art on the walls and handmade jewelry too! it's a really quaint, fun and reliable shop in a great village. \r Pros: Kind, honest, reliable, knowledgeable... more

This place ROCKS for making your eyes look beautiful, so many great selections to choose from. Owner is very friendly and honest, she tells it like it is. If the frame doesn't fit me well, she says not to get it and will work with me until I found the ultimate pair. I have gotten so many compliments on my glasses, not only do I look smart in them, I look pretty in them. \r \r My two daughters (age 11and 14) have both gotten their first pair of contacts here, they so LOVED them. The doctor is so patient with my girls and the owner made sure that the my girls' contacts were a good fit before we ordered more lenses, therefore not wasting my money and trust me because my daughters have high astigmatism, these lenses have to special order and are not cheap. \r \r I highly recommend this shop to anyone that wants a nice pair of glasses!! First off the set up of the shop is completely original and fun. On top the original collection of eye wear the shop provides, the inside space is visually pleasing covered with beautiful art and unique accessories. I love this shop, and have purchased many pears for myself through the past few years. The owner is supper sweet and kind and most importantly very knowledgeable about her products. I highly would suggest this shop if you are a person who is looking for a new pair of glasses or shades, for the optical shop of Nyack is stylish sheik! Pros: Amazing Service in a posh environment! Don't ever go to this place. The owner there is shady and dishonest. She doesn't care anything about the customers eyesight. She'll tell you anything to sell you a pair glasses to make a quick buck. She sold me a pair of glasses I was not happy with, and the prescription was wrong. When I went to return them to the store, she nearly bit my head off. The nice caring lady who sold me the frames suddenly became this witch from hell. When she was helping me to try frames on, she told me how great the glasses looked on my face. She recommend that I choose the pair she suggested for me. First of all i hate that i have to where glasses. normally, i would bring a friend along to help me out. i have a very HIGH astigmatism in my left eye, which means i can't see what the glasses look like until after the perscription is filled and I put the finished product on my face. When i went to try them on i was not pleased with how the glasses looked on my face. i have a public persona, and it is very important how the glasses i wear make me look (it's my image). When i told her that i didn't like them she became very rude. i asked her for a refund and she refused. She was very belittling. At one point when i mentioned to her that she picked out the frames, her response to me was, ""didn't nobody tell you to pick out those glasses. you're a grown man you made your own decision to get them"". I couldn't believe it! What a B@%#.! I would never recommed this place to anyone. \r \r THEY DON'T DO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES, which is not disclosed anywhere in the store except in fine print on a receipt after you've made a purchase. You would be much better off going to a lenscrafters, cohens, or some other chain where you know if something is not ok with your perscription they will make it right.
