They've been thorough and good-humored as I deal with frequent minor eye issues including blepheritis, conjunctivitis, migraine-related visual disturbances, and a family history of glaucoma. Dr. Elkins helped me out greatly with a recurring eye issue. He empathized with my condition, provided a thorough examination and treatment that resolved my issue (it's been over a year now since resolved). It is easy to get appointments .... even when I needed to get in the same week. He is thorough during my eye examinations. The office staff is pleasant and punctual. He is a very likeable doctor and takes time to ask me how I am doing when I come in. I have recommended Dr. Elkins to friends and family. more

In my opinion, Dr. Brad Elkins should not be permitted to practice medicine. Although I signed a consent form for an FDA-approved surgical procedure as well as discussed my concern that everything about the procedure be FDA-approved, Elkins deliberately, and without my consent, used his equipment in a manner that is neither approved by the FDA nor by the manufacturer and he, consequently, damaged my eyes. During follow-up visits, not only did Elkins fail to confess that he performed my procedure in an off-label manner, despite my direct questioning regarding the matter, but he also was reluctant to admit that he decentered the refractive treatment in BOTH of my eyes (even though proof that he did so was glaringly obvious and later confirmed by two other physicians). His unconscionable and inexcusable actions were matched only by his arrogance and blatant disregard for honesty and adherence to ethical standards that one should expect from those in the medical profession. I took my cousin to see Brad Elkins and our experience was far from satisfying. We were treated rudely by the staff and my cousin’s exam was rushed and issues were left unresolved or unexplained. I personally know two patients who left the practice of Brad Elkins in frustration, including one who is a healthcare professional himself and knows something about good bedside manner and medical integrity. Despite the apparent repeated rants of some posters, most negative posts that I have read are consistent with our own unpleasant experience with Elkins and are not without merit. I do not mind those who have had positive outcomes posting their own positive reviews, but one has to wonder why Brad Elkins finds it necessary to hire a Carlsbad-based firm (Review Boost) to artificially boost his ratings by bombarding the Internet with mass and duplicated postings on numerous web sites (many of which are posted repeatedly on the same site, such as Google, under various false account names) and ignore his negative feedback. If Dr. Elkins is so perfect, honest, and secure about his reputation, why is he engaging in such deception? Is this who you want operating on your eyes?
