I LOVE ONE SUNSET! I just celebrated my one year anniversary with my boyfriend there and it was amazing! The food was incredible (Chef's Tasting Menu) the wine was perfectly matched and the atmosphere was romantic and perfect (though it turns into a club some nights too and that is a BLAST!). I went to a Citysearch tasting event last night at ONE Sunset, and I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was. The cheese sticks with an orange-flavored marmalade were incredibly light and sweet, and the veggie quesadillas were both crunchy and flavorful. For dessert, the peach pockets were absolutely delicious! My colleague told me there was a new chef at the establishment, and I have to say he is doing a great job so far, in my view at least. I was also amazed that the menu prices were lower than I had expected. Plates, I?d estimate, averaged around $12. I will definitely be coming back to eat here again. I dined at One Sunset for the first time yesterday and it was amazing! Not only was the restaurant decor breathtaking but the plating was gorgeous. I ordered the "One of almost everything" which allowed me and my friend to try a bit of almost everything on thier delicious menu. Every plate that was served to us was served with perfect timing at the perfect temperature with a perfect description of the course. It was an unforgettable evening with food that left us two girls speechless... I cant wait to go back! Pros: food and service! more

I had my birthday dinner there with 12 guest. It was very grown up. I would recommend it for personal or entertaining a client. We tried almost everything on the menu and after a few drinks we ordered bottle service and pretty much stayed until closing. The crowd was nice and so was the service. more

I had the best birthday party there. It is perfect for groups, we didn't have to make dinner reservations, the manager and the bartenders were very accomodating so everyone could drink, eat, dance and pretty much meel VIP without having to pay for it like some clubs would have charged. Beautiful atmosphere, great drinks, food, music. I've been there many times and will go back again. Love the cool and hip decor. The ambience is more of a club but it's a lounge and restaurant. I like how they have different levels/areas for private parties. Have a dinner there and stay for drinks! more

I have been to One Sunset the past two Monday's nights and it has been awesome. Cute boys and great food always go well together. The place was packed and my giirlfriends and i just ordered lightly (beet salad, crab and artichoke dip and a cheese plate) and lsitened to the DJ. By the time we finished the space was filled with a great crowd and i was bummed I had to work in the morning. We stayed until 12 midnight and let me tell you the hangover the next morning was way worth it! Pros: A lot of fun! Cons: ? more

So, I went to One when it first opened with Chris Enis (spelling?) as the chef. Needless to say, he was not a positive with me (or my friends for that matter). I returned last week for my friend's b-day and found myself pleasantly surprised. The menu had changed quite a bit and I told the manager I enjoyed the food much better. He explained that One had a new chef named Jason Marcus. Jason even visited our table later in the evening. I had spicy tuna tartare on eggplant - it was better than Nobu's (and I'm not kidding)! I had a crab and artichoke dip that made me wanting another. The molten chocolate duo cakes were to die for! I also noticed that my bill was not as high as the last time. Again, the manager explained they decreased the prices. My recommendation: try it out again - it's new, it's fun and it's fabulous! Congrats Jason! I have friends who have told me the food is bad, the service is rude, and the music is loud. I wanted to give One Sunset a try anyway. My girlfriends and I went last Friday night. It was slower than I would have imagined. We were sat right away, but that turned out not to be a good thing! The food was terrible. Soggy burgers, buffalo chicken, and overcooked fish. The drinks were good, but it took a long time to get them. My advice is never come here to eat. It is obvious One Sunset does not want to be a restaurant. Go there for over priced drinks in a TMZ enviroment. This is everything you would expect from an outsiders view of LA!! more

waited 1hr for our reservation time. table was bad and had them move us to a more realistic table. the wine sat at our table for over 20mins before we had to flag someone down just to open the bottle. foor took forever and this ended up being an over 5hr meal. our waitress acted as if we owed her something. I had my birthday party here - it was the best I've ever had. Laurie who was an owner helped me plan it. She was very helpful and explained the creative "shared style" set menu. Although I originally frowned at the thought of a set menu for 25 people, she was right - it couldn't have worked out more perfectly. The great thing is not only was the food delicious (the bbq shortrib sliders were everyone's favorite) but the place turns into a lounge late night. My birthday was on a Thursday and it was a very cool crowd - nice looking and social people. We didn't have to leave there to go out dancing - we did it right there! We all had the best time ever. I'm going there again for my bday next year. Thanks Laurie, for making this birthday the best one ever! My lady and I went on a group date to One last week and I discovered that they have the best drinks in town. My girlfriend went crazy for their Wild Berry Mojitos and a frilly concoction called the Naughty Schoolgirl (it actually comes with a lollipop in it.) I tried the dirty Boy Martini and was very impressed. It was very, very, very dirty, just like l like it. We were all very imprssed with the bartenders, drinks, and the whole scene. So, I just went on a first date with a guy I barely know, and he took me to One Sunset. I fell in love with the place (unfortunately I didn't fall in anything with my date...) The place is beautiful, flowers everywhere, very sensual paintings, and romantic lighting. I wasn't familiar with any odf the food or drinks, but our waitress, Melinda, was extremely helpfull and attentive. She recommended her favorite drinks to try, which I loved (my date thought the mojitos were too sweet, selah) and recommended the best food! Everything she told us to order was absolutely delicious. When it was time for dessert, I didn't want any, but she insisted we try the bread pudding and we were both so happy she did. It was incredible! I can't wait to go back, just not with that guy. What a beautiful place for a romantic evening. My husband and I just celebrated our anniversary at One Sunset. We enjoyed complimentary champagne, delicious butternut ravioli, tuna tartare, grilled sea bass, and the lobster and goat cheese quesedilla . The food was incredible, and the service was impeccable. I'm not a very drinker, but even the champagne was very good as well. My husband's only complaint was that it was a bit loud, but I enjoyed the music and the atmosphere very much. I just had my birthday at One and they were so great! I'm a regular here anyway because my friend works there, but for my birthday they went all out to accomodate me and all my friends. They gave us two big booths in the back where we could watch everything, they gave us a few rounds of drinks and a whole mess of their specialty shots, and they put a candle on a piece of cake for me and gave us our dessert for free! It was the best birthday I can remember! I love this place. It is absolutely the best bar and restaurant in LA. Amazing people, delicious food, and the best drinks anywhere in town. Amazing Monday night Party 1/11/2008

I took seven of my girlfriends out to One Sunset on Monday to celebrate a birthday. We thought because it was a Monday, we were just going to have a nice, quiet dinner. Boy, were we wrong, but in the best way! We made the reservation for pretty late so we could all get off work and relax for a little while, and apparently Monday is a promoter night, so it was more like a night club than a restuarant, but we had a blast! We kept getting free shots and drink tickets all night and we had a great table right in the middle of everything. The only problem was that our table was getting maybe a little too much attention from some of the guys there. (But that's never really a problem!) All of my girls fell in love with the place. One of my friends even met and got her picture taken with a celebrity she's been obsessed with since she was fifteen, and he was totally cool about it. Decided to check out One because I've heard their drinks are great, specifically the Martinis and Mojitos. We had no plans for dinner, but since the drinks lived up to the hype so well, we decided maybe we should eat something before the drive home. We ate some mac and cheese, cheeseburgers, and a pulled pork sandwhich called the Sloppy Pig. The food was incredible. The portions were a bit small, buit those three things filled us up. But the absolute best thing about One... is the girls. Both the bartender and our waitress were gorgeous and the whole place is filled with pretty young things. My friend and I both left with a few numbers and big smiles. Highly recommended new club. Pros: Crowd, Service, Ambiance Cons: Pricey, but worth it more

Oh where to begin. First off, the food was amazing. Really a great chef in the kitchen and the food although small is worth the price. Our waiter on the other hand, not so good. Not only was there a little confusion on how to serve up food on prix fixe menu for 3 people (menu was per person but food choices were based on two people), the waiter decided to add $20 to each of our bills after we had signed the check and left (we left 18% tip, usually its 20% for me but because of his lackluster performance we shaved off 2%). I guess he wasn't happy with us talking to the management but to be honest, i'm willing to bet the manager told him to tack on $20 on each of our credit card bills since the manager comp'd us something for the confusion earlier. Either way, they got busted and everyone should know that ONE SUNSET's wait staff likes to add more money to your receipt. CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS AFTER EATING THERE. Visiting from New York, I asked my concierge to recommend a restaurant that had a New York feel to it. He let me know about One Sunset, (there is a One in New York as well) and I was completely blown away. Great food, spectacular drinks, great service, great crowd, and the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful lighting and fresh flowers everywhere. I had a chance to speak with one of the owners, a New York gal, and expressed how impressed I was with what she had done. She was very humble and gracious and bought me a drink. I am very much looking forward to checking out the One in New York now, because I loved One Sunset so much. Very Highly Recommended. more
