I had the Chicken Calabacitas. Good and spicy.

Worst

As an Arizona Native I have heard about the Old Town Tortilla Factory for years, but had never made the journey over to the restaurant until last night.

Delicious margaritas 11/3/2006

One of our favortie spots in old town. We go for the food, the drinks and the outdoor seating. A must for our out of town guests. Pros: Fun and entertaining Cons: misting system can be drippy at times. more

I read every review of this place before I went and was a bit disheartened. My experience was good, propably because I went on a Tuesday night at 8:00. I thought the food was flavorful and the margaritas were great! Service was on-par with the timing perfect for a comfortable experience. The patio would be perfect October through April, but it's just a bit hot in late June!! Overall, go when it's slow and leave time to drink more than one margarita. We had dinner here on a Friday night and found it to be a great place to eat. The salmon and chicken margarita dishes were excellent and the million dollar margarita was the best I've ever had. The patio is beautiful and would be a great place to take a date. The chocolate cake was to die for! I would definitely recommned this restaurant; the food and service were outstanding. where's the flavor? 3/26/2006

we came out to arizona from L.A. for spring training and were looking for a place to eat. should've just gone to the denny's by our hotel. started off w/ the margaritas, which were actually not bad, so we hoped the food would be the same. instead, it turned out to be SUCH a disappointment. both the pollo margarita and the ribs were dry and bland, partic. the chicken, which was so hard to chew that all of our saliva was soaked up by the dryness. the nachos were only decent. i can see why people would like the ambience, which is all you'd really be paying for if you go here. you wouldn't be paying for good food or flavor, that's for sure. Pros: margaritas, ambience Cons: expensive, bad food more

Great Meal! 10/6/2005

My son had his Rehearsal Dinner on the patio last weekend and it was superb. We started out with margaritas and the appetizer platter. For dinner we enjoyed the Chilean Seabass, Pork Chop and the Pollo Margarita Chicken. The flavor and presentation were outstanding! Pros: food, service, Patio more

Incredibly disappointing. My wife and I ordered tortilla soup, to our surprise it came with no tortilla; made with some type of tomato broth, chicken and vegetables, but no tortillas. We also ordered the Pasta Vallarta en Chicken Enchiladas, as with the tortilla soup, very bland, no salt, very boring. Both my wife and I are health care professionals and we compared it with hospital food for patients with special diet with lack of salt and condiments. To make maters worse: it's very expensive. Awesome! 7/26/2005

Old Town Tortilla Factory is a cut above the rest. The ambiance, food and service are top-notch. I have eaten here a number of times and highly recommend the southwestern cuisine. The patio is a wonderful place to kick back and enjoy a meal or appetizers and a margarita. This restaurant is well managed and the staff are attentive, friendly and courteous. A must for anyone visiting Scottsdale! more

Each town has a place that defines it. It is authentic without being too theatrical; it's charming without becoming saccharine. This place is it for Scottsdale, Arizona. It is laid back, kool, excellent. I am from NYC, hello, we have high standards, and I thought the service was just fine. This place is a must visit if you come to Arizona. more

Totally disappointing food and drinks. Food was runny/watery. Patio is nice, good date place. Other than that, it's a typical Scottsdale restaurant: trendy, tasteless food, overpriced. more

Beautiful Patio Great Food 6/7/2005

I recently visited the Old Town Tortiila Factory and was thrilled. The patio is beautiful!! My husband and I loved the margaritas and the food was exceptional. Our service was excellent and the red chile pork chop was amazing!! I would highly recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family. Pros: Great Patio, Great Service, Great Food more

The Old Town Tortilla Factory was a wonderful find. They offer tasty margaritas, have a beautiful patio and wonderful service. Appetizers good, entrees not so much 4/23/2005

The tortilla soup and salad we had were good, but then my bf got the pork dish, which was highly recommended and his pork was very dry. I had the ribs and they looked really good, but were on the bland side. The margaritas were worth it and the ambience was fun and light. I'd go there and maybe just order drinks and appetizers. more

Disappointment and over-rated 3/16/2005

When we saw that this was the ""top rated"" southwestern restaurant, we thought it would be a must for our brief visit to Scottsdale. We were sad to discover that this place is vastly over-rated. The food was rather bland (I had the Pollo Margarita and my wife had the Old town tacos) and the menu was fairly limited. Service was attentive and the food came quickly. We were just disappointed in the quality of the meal. more

The service is poor. We walked in & they sat us in front of the fire place & a few minutes later we were asked to move by the hosts who wanted to sit her friends there. The food was very expensive & not even mexican cuisine. The margarita's are not good. This place is highy overrated Pros: crowded Cons: , bad service, expensive more

To long a wait to eat 2/5/2004

My husaband and I were recently in Phoenix and went to try the Old Town Tortilla Factory. We had a 45 minute wait...we were told it would only be a few minutes...the patio is beautiful, but by the time we were escorted into the restaurant we really no longer were even very hungry....the service was great...it's the waiting that is not acceptable...
