I purchased a Simmons Big Daddy futon (around $1000) from Oak Tree furniture. After 6 months of normal use the front bar on the futon frame broke.
I called Oak Tree to determine if the warranty was with Oak Tree, or with the manufacture. They informed me that they would take care of the problem, and asked for pictures of the broken piece. After receiving the pictures they accused me of breaking the futon, and said they would not honor the warranty. They did not ask how the frame broke, or for any additional information about our use of the futon.
I informed them that I did not agree with the assessment as the futon is in a low traffic area, and receives minimal use. For the record, it broke in the course of being extended from sofa mode ot bed mode - normal use.
The staff member with whom I was speaking transfered me to the owner of the store, who confirmed that we were at fault, and went on to inform me that he no longer wanted me as a customer.
I would recommend avoiding this business
