Consistently Crap 10/28/2009

One of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. Period. My roommate's been there twice. The first time she ordered a burger cooked well done. The burger itself cost almost $9 and it took twenty minutes (twenty!!) to arrive and when it did it tasted like it had been indeed cooked tor twenty straight minutes. It was like shoe leather. The second time she got a burger but ordered it cooked medium. Same exact thing. I finally tried it myself to day and ordered the buffalo wings. I got 6 for $6 and change and it didn't take too long but the texture, taste and look suggested that they had been pre-fried and dipped and then microwaved to order. They were stale, dry, tough and flavorless, the sauce was unremarkable and there wasn't enough of it. They came with some water logged baby carrots and a cup of lumpy ranch dressing. Yes, lumpy. (bleu cheese wasn't an option). This pace is awful. And overpriced to boot. If you want decent wings go to BJ's or Chicago Fire on Sutter St in Folsom or a WingStop. For any other BBQ, head to Texas West. I wish I had just gone to the neighboring Dairy Queen. Pros: There's a Texas West BBQ on the other side of town Cons: everything else more

Just simply bad food... twice 5/18/2007

First time my wife and I ordered from this restaurant about a month ago, both the ribs and the brisket were tough and salty. Nice girl at the counter though. Friendly. Not believing it was possible for a restaurant to serve food this bad on a regular basis, we tried it again last night.... basically gave them a mulligan for the first time. It was like the second time I ate liver. and the third. and the fourth. Always with an open mind - always HORRIBLE. About 8:15PM on a Thursday night, they explained that they were out of brisket, out of turkey, out of I forget what else. It was like the SNL skit... "cheebourgie cheebourgie cheebourgie". Except this was "baby backs, baby backs, baby backs". That's all they had. And they were tough like shoe leather and salty like jerky. I am really ticked at this place it is like I flushed $40 for wretched food. And I'm embarrassed that I went back after the first time actually. Honest I threw out the bones rather than feed them to my dog. I'm not kidding. A horrible horrible restaurant. Nice garlic toast and fries I guess but really nasty meat and nasty bbq sauce. I will never go back. Trust me. Texas West, Tony Romas, Back Forty.... there are too many places serving delicious fall off the bone ribs to waste your time and money at this Armadillo place. Sorry but they asked for it when they handed over that crappy food in exchange for my $40 (the second time it happened mind you. I wish they had said they were out of ribs too and I would have just had some fries and bread. Pros: I'm sure they are nice people. Nice vibe to the place Cons: They have to get their act together and start selling better food... quick more
