I recently took my boy friend to dinner here and it's not to bad of a shop. The pulled pork was messy but good. The sauce gets eveywhere tho!!! The mac and cheese was ok, not that cheesy or anything. The tri tip dip looked way good, and there home made brownies are wayy yummy! more

We've been here a few times. I usually get the tri tip sandwich and garlic fries. And while yes, you will have bad breath for the next 24 hours they are soooo worth it. more

Kind of surprised seeing one and two star reviews for this place. The Food: I have been about a dozen times and have had a fantastic experience with the food. I always order the tri-tip, either the dinner or the sandwich. The meat is good quality, the sides are always delicious, and the choice of sauces are all very good. Last time I got the garlic mashed potatoes and the tri-tip chilli for my choice of sides. Delicious combo. The portions are not too big or too small. Don't expect to get a gut busting amount of food, but don't expect to walk away hungry. The Atmosphere: The people who work there are nice and courteous. It is usually a quiet place yet a good place to have a conversation. The Price: The prices are decent but not great if you are expecting to have a simple lunch. I always end up spending anywhere from $11 to $14 on a meal with a drink, but it is worth it to me. Other thoughts: I have seen some of my friends order cuts of meat that didn't look that good to me, but they are fattier cuts and some people like those. My only experience is with the tri-tip, which I highly recommend. more

Headed into O'Connor's after driving by it for a couple years, just to give it a try. My wife and I stopped in on Thursdee night and found that Thursdees are rib dinner night. That's 4-5 meaty pork spareribs, 1 side, bread and a soda for $10. The ribs are very delicious and the rub is just stupid good. Lots of garlic and the flavor stands on it's own. Then there's the sauce which is a nice mild honey bbq sweet-n-smoky sauce and I think it compliments the ribs nicely. I could almost just do sauce shots. I usually run out while grubbing on the ribs and hafta go get more as I also like to dip my bread in it. Haven't tried the spicy, cuz I just don't need heat in my bbq. As far as the sides go, I would recommend the tri-tip chili. I absolutely love the chili! I pretty much shun all other sides here cuz I like the chili that much. They throw a few chives and a lil cheese on top and really, that's all it needs. As has been stated by others, the mac-n-cheese is kinda bland, about the only thing I agree with from the other reviews. If I want fries I'll goto Mickey Ds. Only other thing I can say is that service can be a lil slow at times, even on slow nights. Good thing I'm not in a hurry when I stop in. I have a plan to go there and eat dinner and I know what to expect and it truly is worth the wait. Yeah, this review has a very narrow focus since I only talk about the ribs and chili so try those. I tend to stick with what's good. Good food at a good price, I mean c'mon, rib dinners for 2 for $20. And we usually take home a few ribs, so there's plenty of food. more

This restaurant was delicious. Everything that we tried was cooked perfectly, their house bbq sauce was amazing, and their prices are very cheap. They are also extremely friendly and welcoming and it was an overall pleasant experience. more

This is the BEST BBQ in Sacramento-- BY FAR! EVERYTHING-- I really mean EVERYTHING is DEEELICIOUS!!! All of the meat, the sides (esp. tri-tip chili and fries), the sauces, the appetizers-- even the milkshakes (which, by the way, they take the time to eak out every last drop of shake, which, to me, shows how much they care about their customers). My husband and I discovered O'Connors in August after a daunting search for good BBQ, and have been back at least once-- probably twice-- every week since. Don't let their location fool you-- you'll love it once you're inside. Old fashioned, rustic, charming decor and a fireplace make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Thank you, O'Connors! more

Great pulled pork sandwich! I had it for lunch and was full all day. Really good fries too. Service was friendly and quick. Atmosphere nice too. Overall a solid place. I will be going back for more. more

I have a Santa Maria Grill in my back yard that we use a lot. We were in the mood for BBQ but it was raining yesterday. The Food and Service was excellent. The salad was very fresh with a large portion of healthy varied types of lettuce, tomatoes, a little sliced cheese, and a little red onion. The fried items (french fries and onion rings) were cooked perfectly crispy in what was obviously clean fresh oil. The floor and tables were clean however it's definitely not a romantic environment, but it is pleasant and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. We had plenty of BBQ to take home to our son. We read some of the negative reviews so we were a little apprehensive, but we were quite pleasantly surprised overall. more

We had an awesome meal there tonight!!! The only drawback is that we had to wait for a table - it was slammed. Excellent ribs, delicious 1/2 pound burgers, little shoestring fries that were delish! A side salad for a pretty small charge was excellent! Wait staff was friendly and the owner came around with a pan of homeade cookies for the kids after the meal. YUM! Will be going there again and highly recommend :) more

Pretty good food. The chicken was really juicy and the kids loved their food. A little too much garlic on the potatoes and the veggies but overall a nice place. Loved the decor and the staff was really friendly. We will be back. more

I had a good experience here. I had the tri-tip dippers, which are 3 small french dips made with tri-tip. I also had the wedge salad. It was all good. The place was clean, good service. My co-worker got a production catered by them the next day, and employees raved about the bbq. Good stuff! more

OMG!!! Forget the date, jump into those ribs!! They ARE finger licking good and great sides too!! Yummmmmy, too bad it's a Friday in Lent, otherwise I'd go tonight!! more

The Tri-tip is the best. Don't get me wrong the other is good too, but tr-tip is my favorite. more
