When I first ment with Valicity, I knew 6/7/2012

When I first ment with Valicity, I knew that she would make my day amazing. She saw my vision (my binder) helped edit it and turn my dream into a reality. From all the times I texted, emailed her, called her, she would get back to me as soon as possible and set my mind at ease. When I met her at the Limo, she had the warmest smile and made me feel like a princess, taking me to the bridal room, presenting the room to me, bustling my dress with Adrey and bringing me down to the cocktail hour. The food--AMAZING! you have to get the barbecue station. Its Valicity's favorite and it is amazing. My husbands friends are still talking about it. I still talk to her a lot and she still remembers everything about my day. I wish I lived closer to see how she does it every weekend. Thank you more

AMAZING 2/25/2012

After reading these reviews I was a little nervous, I'm not going to lie. But after meeting with Angelo and Velicity I had no idea where these people were coming from. My fiance and I first met with Angelo and we did the tastnig with his daghter. fFrom the minute I met her, I felt like she was my best friend. She put my mind at ease from family issues all the way to my table centerpieces. We booked that night. We did the finals with her about a month before the wedding and she asked everything, right down to the names of all bridal party and what I liked to drink, to have it ready for me. On the day of my wedding, Velicity, met me at the Park for my ceremony that she arranged and did all the work for. Chairs, greeting the guests and calming my nerves in the back of the limo. Right after, we arrived at the seaport that was ready to go for my wedding. I don't know how she did it, but she got back to the seaport in order to greet us at the limo with Audrey and Angelo. We went brought us up to the sweet and showered us with attention, bustled my dress and got us ready for cocktail hour. The room was amazing. All of my centerpieces were put out exactly like I asked her. She also arranged for a photo booth as a surprise gift from my in laws. The food was so good, even better than the tasting. And the cake was to die for. I cannot wait to have a piece on my anniversary. I have been in and to many weddings and I have to say, the way the seaport runs things is top notch. Velicity said when you are here, its like being in our home and in our family. That is exactly how it felt. Angelo and Velicity really do such a great job and help brides and mothers of the bride feel at ease. I would have never had the wedding that I had with anyone else. They care about all of your guests, even the little ones. more

The Best Wedding of EVER!!! 11/18/2011

First, I need to say that I have been to a ton of weddings over the years and I wanted mine to be special...AMAZING..\r \r Its exactly what I got. Valicitie was so amazing paying attention to every single detail right down to the menu cards being written in my wedding font with my logo. She took all of my worries away and made my day effortless...the best day of my life. She was ever present, staying on the sidelines, but right there when she saw that someone needing something. Audrey, the Mautre D' was always by my side making sure I had what I needed, she even changed my shoes for me.Valicitie sewed my Bridesmaids dress for me so quickly, I didn't even realize she was not in the room.\r \r I am writing this review mostly because after reading what other said, I am saddened and disappointed. For one, I see the passion and effort Valicitie, her staff and her father put into the event, to make it amazing. The staff is very attentive and give the ultimate service to all of your guests, why would that be an issue? In addition, using this type of forum to disparage a company is really unfortunate. No one knows the circumstances surrounding your day and event. \r \r I hope you have the chance to attend or plan your event with The Nyack Seaport. You will not be dissapointed. more

I paid for champagne and they gave ginger ale - literally! 9/7/2011

I paid for champagne and they gave ginger ale - literally! I have proof on video! They ran out of alcohol because they had an affair prior to our wedding, which is unacceptable. Angelo, owner gave me permission to bring my family there ahead of time, Valicitie(daughter)turned them away. She was very rude and pretty snotty. The table linens that I picked out were not the ones that I ended up with. I paid $10/head for a candy table and the candy she picked out was your basic twizzlers, mixed Hershey squares, m&m's and skittles. She didn't even give us the left over more

Wedding Day Dissapointment 9/3/2011

After checking dozens of places in the area, we ultimately decided on this place for our wedding. The owner appeared to really want our business and promised us the world to get us to sign a contract. i was extremely dissapointed with my wedding event and here is why- PROMISES PROMISES- I wont get into the list of them but there were quite a few thrown around in the beginning.. from offering a formal tasting, special menu items. Showing up for scheduled appointments while they act as if they are surprised to see you.. making us wait over 45 minutes to ""find a place"" for us. Without 1 single apology for wasting our time... not to mention, we showed up for this tasting HUNGRY! SERVICE- Just terrible. The servers were not very friendly to our guests... since I was the bride , they came over to me a little too much to check in with me and insist that I eat... while the intentions were there, it was a bit too much and they would even interrupt conversations HIDDEN FEES- You need to carefully look at those contracts... You have tax, gratuity which is standard. But they nag you about that 5% Matre D fee that is slipped in there. Coming from the hotel industry myself, this is a very old fashioned way of doing business and is almost unheard of in the industry. They claim part of it goes to the cooks and Servers? Then what is the 20% Gratiuty for? Even when a Matre D fee was in ""style"", if the owner was the Matre D, then you would not need to provide it. ALSO, on a few occassions, there were a few ""mis calculations"" in their favor... again forgetting about their PROMISES on pricing. I wonder if they pushed for the Matre D fee to make up for the mistakes that were caught. FOOD- Delicious! Everyone raved about the food. I was able to taste the food and loved everything I had. BUFFET?- We asked for stations to be set up. I envisioned people walking around.. mingling while they got their food. Didnt happen. Plates were put only on 1 table in the ""begining"" of the line and essentially, what I got was a BUFFET! I did not want my guests standing in line for 45 minutes.. which really gave the party a lull... of course no one was dancing! TABLES- Lets just say, this is my mistake.. I should have asked them how they were going to fold the napkins. There are many classy folds that you can use and a quick breakfast restaurant triangle fold was such a let down to see. Most reputable hotels would cringe at the sight of the folded napkins. (and they did, since most of my guests where int he industry) For most people, this really went un-noticed. However, I assumed that they would just know. My bad. THANK YOU- You would think that a well established business would send a quick ""thank you for your business"" card. Again, an industry standard. Also, the owner told us he would be there for the wedding. His daughter ran it.. a little disappointing, just seemed as if they didnt care for our business. I think this place has amazing food. They are probably great for baby showers, retirement dinners and other social functions. However, I do not suggest trusting them with the best day of your life. more

Average, small, and disorganized 1/28/2011

I was at a wedding here not long ago and it was definitely nothing to rave about. The place was small, the food was okay at best and the staff there was very disorganized not to mention even rude at one point when they were basically demanding that guests who arrived early go back outside because they hadn't finished setting up yet. Also, you could tell this place is not set up to host indoor weddings because everyone was crammed into this small room for the cocktail hour with no seats. If I was paying for a wedding, I would never want my guests to stand. When the bridal party first arrived, the staff acted like they were totally unprepared for the number of people coming and offered very little food for them. I never saw them for the rest of the night either. It wasn't my wedding, but I would not have wasted my money on this place. more

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!!! 12/9/2009

I am having my wedding at the Nyack Seaport in Nyack NY on March 27, 2010. All I can say is THEY ARE AMAZING!!! I have been working with Valicitie who is my Wedding Coordinator at the Venue and she is nothing but helpful! She goes above and beyond expectations and helps me out tremendously! I don't know what I could do without her and her team of staff. If anyone has an event they need to plan or knows someone looking for a beautiful venue for their wedding, or even to host a shower or banquet, call them! I promise you won't be disappointed! Pros: THEY ARE AMAZING!!! Cons: No Cons more

Beautiful wedding! 10/10/2008

I also don't understand the first review. We had my daughter's wedding this past July and they could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Valicitie and the entire staff were wonderful. Instead of a ""tasting"" , before we signed a contract we were invited to eat at their restaurant and order whatever we wanted. Everything was delicious and some items we served at our wedding. I have been to weddings at other venues where I know the bride went to a formal tasting, thought the food was great, and it couldn't have been the same food they tasted because the I thought food was terrible. Also when you book a venue it's usually a year before, so chef's can change at any time. The Nyack Seaport is a perfect place to have wedding (and ceremony) if you intend to have no more than 150 guests. more

Great Experience 3/5/2008

The other review is surprising. We were given a tasting with no commitment and the food was fabulous. Honestly, they could not have been more accomodating. It's a very nice space and Felecity was gracious and very helpful. more

Not Nice Nyack Seaport 2/17/2008

I don't know where to begin. This place looks beautiful inside but unfortunately the service leaves little to be desired. We have been looking at over a dozen places, all of which offered a tasting of the menu. \r \r Recently, I spoke to the manager at the Nyack Seaport, visited the place fell in love and asked when we could do a tasting. We were told anytime, ""come right-in"". After asking around about the food, I heard from two reliable sources that the food was not that good and so I inquired as to whether the chef had been changed.""Bingo"" he quit last month I was told and had been replaced. The lady conceded that the food had been less than average. She then confirmed that we could attend for a tasting. On the day of the tasting we called to confirm and was told that they could not give us a tasting because we first had to commit to a contract with non-refundable deposit, then we could have a tasting. Please imagine, paying a deposit only to find out that the food is horrible. \r \r Every place that we inquired had no issues allowing us to have a tasting. I explained that I was not interested in having a sit down meal, just a mere taste to ensure that the food was palatable.""Sorry, that is our policy she stated."" We had only spoken by phone three times that same week and each time, I was assured that I would be pleased with the food and service.Needless to say, I have no idea what was really behind their sudden about face, I dare not speculate but I do warn to others be sure to have everything in writing with this group. more
