Review content:
I don't know where to begin. This place looks beautiful inside but unfortunately the service leaves little to be desired. We have been looking at over a dozen places, all of which offered a tasting of the menu. \r \r Recently, I spoke to the manager at the Nyack Seaport, visited the place fell in love and asked when we could do a tasting. We were told anytime, ""come right-in"". After asking around about the food, I heard from two reliable sources that the food was not that good and so I inquired as to whether the chef had been changed.""Bingo"" he quit last month I was told and had been replaced. The lady conceded that the food had been less than average. She then confirmed that we could attend for a tasting. On the day of the tasting we called to confirm and was told that they could not give us a tasting because we first had to commit to a contract with non-refundable deposit, then we could have a tasting. Please imagine, paying a deposit only to find out that the food is horrible. \r \r Every place that we inquired had no issues allowing us to have a tasting. I explained that I was not interested in having a sit down meal, just a mere taste to ensure that the food was palatable.""Sorry, that is our policy she stated."" We had only spoken by phone three times that same week and each time, I was assured that I would be pleased with the food and service.Needless to say, I have no idea what was really behind their sudden about face, I dare not speculate but I do warn to others be sure to have everything in writing with this group.
