After first trying an Arthur Murray studio and being disappointed with the poor quality of instruction and high pressured sales pitch, we came across an ad for Now & Then Dance Studio. We signed up for 6 lessons, thinking that is all we'd need to dance like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. We've now been associated with the Now & Then studio for eleven years and have completed the Full Gold level. We are no longer sitting on the side line and watching others dance. All of the instructors take a real interest in the students and are patient and encouraging. We feel privileged to have so many wonderful friends at the studio. Newcomers are always welcome. more

Many years back my husband and I took a group dance class at a community college and came away learning nothing! When our eldest daughter became engaged, we discovered Now & Then and signed up for 10 lessons. Well, my daughter has been married for 9 years now and my husband and I are still hooked on dancing at Now & Then! In addition to learning to dance, we have met the nicest people at the Friday night parties, many of whom have become good friends. \r \r The lessons are expensive. We are obviously older, our children are grown and we can afford to continue the lessons. Initial packages consist of 3, 6, or 10 lessons and can teach you the rudimentary elements of ballroom dance. We gave our second daughter and her fiance 10 lessons before their wedding. They shocked the wedding guests by dancing a beautifully choreographed Fox Trot! I have been a student at Now and Then for four years and can honestly recommend it with the highest regard. I have "experimented" with lessons at different venues and schools and never found the degree of professionalism, expertise and camaraderie, as is present at Now and Then. The staff holds themselves to the highest level of expectation in terms of performance, preparing diligently individual and group lesson plans. As a current student at Now and Then and for two years dancing there, my impression is favorable. The instructors are well-qualified and staff turnover is minimal. Lessons are not inexpensive but are a good value when factoring private lessons, level-appropriate group lessons, and the Friday night practice party. Additionally, there are showcase events, dancing excursions, etc. The cadre of students consists of singles and couples. Many years ago, I was attracted to Now and Then because I wanted to learn how to dance, but did not have a partner. I thought that having no partner would be a liability, but it turned out to be a great asset. The instruction was first rate quality and I learned how to dance with different partners. Not only was it great exercise, but dancing gave me self-confidence and let 'the inner kid' in me come out and have a great time. They were not as expensive as other studios. I took advantage of every aspect of their teaching program and I would do it all over again!! Over the years I have seen other instructors, but the quality has not met the standard of Now and Then. I am so happy that there are open dances twice a month now, and I don't need to drive a long distance to get there. more

I?ve been taking lessons at Now and Then for two-and-a-half years. In that time I?ve checked out at least four other local ballroom dance studios but Now and Then remains my favorite for learning American-style ballroom. There is a warm and encouraging atmosphere good for coaxing shy people like me out of their shells. Group classes are small ? typically 4 to 10 students ? so there is a lot of personal attention. Private and group lessons are a full 55 minutes, compared to 45 minutes at some other locations. This studio in particular goes beyond footwork to a special focus on styling. This is something extra and it gets me compliments out on the dance floor. The cost of a lesson package (once the introductory rates are over) is not the cheapest in the area, but includes unlimited group classes and Friday night practice parties.
