I?ve been taking lessons at Now and Then for two-and-a-half years. In that time I?ve checked out at least four other local ballroom dance studios but Now and Then remains my favorite for learning American-style ballroom. There is a warm and encouraging atmosphere good for coaxing shy people like me out of their shells. Group classes are small ? typically 4 to 10 students ? so there is a lot of personal attention. Private and group lessons are a full 55 minutes, compared to 45 minutes at some other locations. This studio in particular goes beyond footwork to a special focus on styling. This is something extra and it gets me compliments out on the dance floor. The cost of a lesson package (once the introductory rates are over) is not the cheapest in the area, but includes unlimited group classes and Friday night practice parties.
