Best Vet to take Rabbits 8/25/2010

I had researched which vet would be the best in my area for rabbits and Dr. Nathanson was the first on the list. I had my 4 month old rabbit at the time come in for a check up ($50) and was skeptical that my bunny would be calm enough for the vet. Regardless, as soon as she stepped in the door she greeted us warmly and immediately got to work. She handled my bunny with care and she was the calmest I have ever seen her! She wont even let me pick her up at home. After a few weeks I took her back into the vet to get my bunny spayed and the staff was very kind and told me how well she did during surgery. It made me feel they cared about my pet and they handled her extremely well! I took another of my rabbits, a 3 month old boy, to another vet bc he was sneezing and I couldnt get an appt for North Seattle Vet in time. This particular vet was completely opposite! The vet was pinning my bunny down and was a little too rough for my liking. She even took him into a back room saying she would weigh him, but was gone for a good 5 minutes and I could not see what she was actually doing. It was very uncomfortable and made me regret making that appt with this new vet. I will now never go anywhere but to Dr Nathanson! more

Try Maple Leaf Veterinary 3/25/2010

The second time I took my dog in was for a nail clipping ( which requires sedation ) I was charged for a full exam ( $48 ) even though she just had one at that very clinic, with that very same vet about a month earlier. The exam consists of the vet feeling her neck and takes about 15-20 seconds. Again, $48.00. I had made an appointment for 10am but apparently they took a walk in ahead of me and I had to wait till 11am just to get into the examination room. Then, had to wait another hour+ to get the sedation started. I came in at 10am and didn't leave till 2:30pm. Also, after sedation my dog was still a little cognizant but relaxed enough to get her nails clipped, which I had to suggest as the vet wanted to give her an IV which would have carried additional cost and more importantly--wasn't necessary. You folks need me to tell you this, my second lifetime visit to a vet? Today I called in at 10am with a serious issue as my dog had been not eating well and acting lethargic for a couple of days. I got the answering machine which prompted that they were with patients and to leave a message, they would call back. I left a message and said it was somewhat urgent, I would like to come in that day. After hearing nothing back, at about 2pm I called them! The woman that answered said she had just got to work and hadn't heard or seen anything about my call. I Think, basically, that they're overbooking, overcharging and not really being responsive. Pros: Vet Nathanson seemed pretty knowledgeable Cons: Kept waiting for hours w/appt, filthy facilites, overcharge more

Vets that really care 2/11/2010

Adawna saved one of my cat's life through her creative thinking and knowledge. I found her through luck almost 20 years ago. When my cats finally have to say goodbye she comes to my house to minimize the trauma. As the practice has expanded she has found other caring vets to join her. All the staff clearly love animals and understand their importance. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would! Pros: Lots of knowledge and experience as well as love for animals more

Outstanding caring vets 10/2/2008

Adona is great as is the other Vet. I cannot say enough good things about these vets. The are good docs and really care about the animals. They have great rapport with both you and your pet! \r \r They have really helped when we have had some very sick animals and they understand how important parts of the family pets are and treat them and you consistent with that reality. Outstanding recommendation. Pros: Outstanding caring vets. more

Great Vet 1/24/2008

I drive from East Lynnwood to see Dr. Windom. I have been going to North Seattle Vet for 13 years. The staff and Dr.'s are loving and compassionate. I would not trust the life of my pets with anyone else. Pros: Loving and caring more

The Animal Wisperer 9/28/2006

Dr Windom is such a great vet. She knows her stuff, and she's great with animals. All of my pets let her examine them without a flinch. This includes a cat that used to have to be held down at another clinic. She has a magic touch. I drive from the other side of town to go to this clinic because I've been so pleased. Pros: Great with animals more

Kindest and most thorough we've experienced. 9/21/2006

The docs at N. Seattle Vet are thorough and kind, and both our animals have loved them too. There's no other place where we've had a vet get down on the floor to commune with our dog, and when we had to put Luke to sleep, Adawna coached my husband to just keep feeding luke biscuits (she knew our dog) until he fell asleep. They also presented lower cost mail-in prescription options to us to save us a few bucks. It's a well-worn but much loved environ to take your pet for its check up and care. more
