Karen has been there for me and my family all the way. As a young guy who doesnt know that much about cars (though my friends do) my family has been going to her since THEY were younger. My dad still uses her service to this day, and that is how i met her. She doesnt overcharge, is always friendly, and without pressure tells you exactly what needs to be fixed, and what can wait for another day. Plus if you ever have a question on what something even IS or MEANS, she will explain it in simple english and with pictures (I lOVE PICTURES) so you understand what your buying. Karen is an honest business owner. When 6 different mechanics were telling me to change my catalytic converter and they wanted 600-800 for it, or I would not pass the smog test, she took her sweet time to explain how that was misdiagnosed, and helped me get my car going and pass the smog test. There was nothing wrong with the catalytic converter, but one part needed to be adjusted. I drive an old Chevy trucker and everyone wanted to take advantage of me. I will not go anywhere else. more

Got Car? Get Karen! It's just that simple. She will never suggest unnecessary repairs and will actually explain what is wrong and how it gets fixed. I have been taking my 2006 sports car to her since it was new. When there is the possibility of warranty coverage, Karen will tell you to go to the dealer first. Karen at North Hollywood Discount Auto is the most honest and thorough mechanic i have ever been too. She does everything from my routine oil changes to my major under the hood repairs. I had an overheating problem that I took to Karen. She couldn't pin point where the issue was coming from and instead of doing costly repairs that were "maybe" the issue, she told me how to carefully maintain the car and watch to see if it happens again. I had my radiator replaced at North Hollywood Discount Muffler after a friend recommended them to me. At first I thought I'd found a mechanic I could feel comfortable with. However, in the end this was one of the worst car repair experiences I've ever had. Pros: Absolutely None Cons: Poor workmanship. Does not honor warranties. more

Not only have I taken my car here many times, but now all my friends do as well (and none of us live in the valley). I once thought my brakes were bad because they were squeking super loud, but they did a inspection and said nothing was wrong and they didn't charge me. They also feature rental cars for when your car is in their shop for as low as $15 a day! PLUS a woman mechanic runs the shop and teaches mechanic classes at LACC!!! more
