Noppakao Thai Restaurant

Noppakao offers mediocre thai food, and a casual dining experience. They have terrible service! I went in there the another night and had a coupon for half off from a valid source, and they rejected it...yelling at me claiming i was committing fraud. I tried to explain that it wasn't what she thought it was--however she continued to yell at me, embarrassing me in front of, not only my family, but the entire restaurant. Because of that i will never return and i would recommend you not either...that is if you value respect and good service. more

I don't like my food particularly (temperature) hot, but this was the weirdest thing. The food was barely room temperature when it arrived. It was so strange because the food was obviously freshly prepared (from order to our table was about 5 minutes). Pros: Nice atmosphere, attentive staff Cons: Food was cold! more

We go here about once a month when we want predictable, consistent Thai food. It may not be creative, or unique but the food is always good. I like it. I always enjoy their food. Granted, we live very close, but it is still one of our favorite restaurants. I especially like their Sen Yai (I think I spelled that right) and their fried ice cream. Some of the other reviews have said that they had problems with the people there. I don't doubt them, but my wife and I have never had any problems. Don't go there though. I don't want it to get crowded so we have to wait. :) more

From the onset a nice restaurant. Nicely decorated. Fully staffed, and attentive to your needs. Fishcakes for starters, fried and somewhat greasy. Entrees Panang curry, pork ribs in garlic sauce. Curry was nothing special. The pork ribs looking delicious with the aromatic garlic waifing. Unfortunately it arrived COLD, like it just came out of the refrigerator. We sent it back, to be MICROWAVED. Now here is the kicker the when waitress came to our table to bring our entrees, she asked us to move to another table to accomodate a larger party. I would not have mind, but she asked after we had finished our appetizer in the middle of our meal. They tried to appease us by offering us a dessert which was too salty. The first thing I wanted to mention is that I have eaten at Noppakao at Kirkland before becuase i live near them, while the food is adequate I was always putt off by the rudeness of the wait staff; however, like most patrons deceided to just to ignore it and eat my meal. Today, March 21 2008, I experience a new level of rudeness from any restuarant staff, as I was being seated to my table, I politely requested a child's seat for my 21 month old toddler. The waitress grudgingly assisted me by trying to get me a booster seat, but as i explained that I needed a high chair, she looked at me as if I asked her drink some toilet water. Again, I explained that I needed high chair for my child, she just pointed at the high chair at the wall, and rudely ask me if that's what I needed. You have to understand that the restuarant was essentially empty; so, it wasn't as if they were busy to help me with such a standard request. As we were getting seated, the waitress, was just staring at me and my pregnant wife, again giving us the impression that she's just been burden by all this. After then not answering our question, if it was ok to position the high chair near the booth, I had enough and told the waitress that this was completely unacceptable, and told her she needed to provide better customer service and asked to see her manager. As I calmly explained to thier management on my issue, they just yelled at me in gibberish which I just assumed was some sort of Thai swear words, I and my family walked out and looked for another resturant to have our lunch. We went to Chun's Chinese Food next door, and I can honestly say that they treated me and my family with the service you would expect and a great meal for a very reasonable price. Let me start by saying the food and waitstaff was EXCELLENT! The only problem I had was when I went to pay. Our bill was $44.26, I gave her $60.26. Someone (not our server) came by and picked up the bill and never came back. No receipt...nothing - just assumed that I was leaving the $16.00 change as a tip. I thought this was rude and insulting. Not that I'm a cheap tipper...I was planning on leaving $10 which is more that 20%. I guess it wouldn't have been even that bad but when I went up to get my change...I was stared at rudely that I wanted my change. When she gave me my change...it was totally incorrect. I tried to explain to her that I gave her $60.26 and my change should be $16.00 but she insisted what she handed me was my change. She was extremely rude and frankly I was astonished that I would be treated that way for just wanting my change?? The server was excellent so I still left the $10 but that really made me mad...ruined the experience.
