High five 12/7/2009

I have eaten in the best restaurants all over the world. I ended up in the Omni hotel by accident and I dotn know why I ate in the hotel restaurant but I did. I'm rather hard to impress and I was. I accepted all the helpful waiters recommendations (Milo) and it was excellent, the bass was seriously the best fish meal I have ever eaten. Texas mousse was like sex. Anyway check it out. From my blackberry in the dining room. more

Fantastic 2/17/2009

My husband and I had dinner here on Valentine's Day and had a fantastic experience. They had a five-course Valentine's Day special with very different and exotic foods. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, and I didn't know if my meat-and-potatoes-loving husband would like anything, but we were both pleasantly surprised at how tasty everything was. The lobster shrimp sausage was nothing like I had ever tasted. The eggplant soup was delicious, as well as the salad. The main course was red snapper and polynesian sirloin. Each had a variety of flavors to accompany them, but were not overpowering and complimented it very well. Dessert was a trio of small treats, all delicious. The atmosphere was dim and modern, but very romantic. Excellent service as well. This is a great place to go for a special occassion, and especially if you want to try something a little different. Pros: Unique food, romantic, great service more

Pretty good 10/23/2008

Good service, nice restaurant, 5 stars from me. Everything was kept clean, and the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. See you again! more

Worst manager and service I have ever seen 10/2/2008

The food was reasonable, however the waiting staff were quite unfriendly and not very helpful. Upon paying we were over-charged by the very young lady manager and when we mentioned this and after we had paid she got quite annoyed that we'd complained and became aggressive and told us the prices were not set up by her and that they were set by corporate office, generally she dealt with the matter in a very ungracious way. Having worked in a restaurant myself I understand that it is a stressful job but would never dream of talking to a customer the way that she did to us. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant as it is unfriendly and they do not appreciate non hotel customers. more

Great place 7/6/2008

My wife and I recently chose NOE when celebrating our first anniversary, because we enjoyed the restaurant so much last year. We could not have chosen a more perfect place. We decided on the chef's inspiration menu with the wine paring. The food was excellent and beautifully presented, and the service was incredible. We look forward to dining there again. more

Oh Man Oh Man 2/18/2008

What a great place. I don't even know what else to say. Really enjoyed my experience. Kudos. The menu is outstanding. more

Great place to host friends and family. 1/5/2008

I recently dined at Noe and was amazed at the service, ambiance, decor and cuisine. I brought an out of town guest and a few other friends and everyone enjoyed their time thoroughly. Our server, Mounir made sure to attend to every detail and anticipated our needs. My chilean sea bass was cooked to perfection and the creme brule is to die for. One of my guests commented that the tuna sashimi was the best he had ever had. The fresh orchids and various flowers around the restaurant with the candle light make a lovely setting for any occasion. Most importantly the staff was outstanding and extremely personable. I look forward to hosting many more dinners at Noe. Pros: Service, food, ambience Cons: Quiet spot..not the place to dine if your looking to see or be seen. more

Outstanding service, great menu 1/24/2007

My husband and I tried Noe for the first time last night for my birthday, and were very impressed! The restaurant interior is very nice (albeit in a hotel), and the service was outstanding - very attentive, yet not intrusive. The menu was unique - we both had the prix-fixe menu - $58 per person, which included 4 courses. The mimosa salad was wonderful - crunchy, spicy, great flavor. And we both loved everything - the chef had unique pairings that just worked! For example, the walnut cake came with whole cranberries on top, which sounded weird to me, but tasted wonderful! Highly recommended. more

Dining elegance at its best! 12/18/2006

""Elegant"" is the best description for me. The surroundings are beautiful. The service was attentive, but not intrusive. The staff was willing to accomodate practically all of our requests. The food was exceptional. The presentation was beautiful. The portions for the 6 course ""taster"" were small but satisfying. On a Saturday night at 7:00 pm we were nearly the only ones there. A lot of small touches that made the whole experience just perfect. I am not sure how the estimates of the menu prices are derived, but, if you are going to have wine with dinner, plan on about $100.00 per person. All in all, I felt that it was a treat that should be experienced at least once. Pros: Food, service, flexibility of the kitchen to prepare according to your likes Cons: The cost is high, but not entirely prohibitive. more

The food was off the charts! 11/20/2006

I found the wine list to be outstanding, unlike other ""wine snobs"" that may have reviewed it. The food was fantastic and the service was beyond great! Great place to take a date. more

On par with some of the best in NYC 8/7/2006

My ONLY complaint: I researched the wine list (available online) before going and picked out five wines, assuming that they would have at least one of those. Well, they had all five but all of them were from more recent vintages than what was on the wine list. When will high-end restaurants learn that vintage matters for someone looking for a very nice bottle of wine? The same wine from the same vineyard can taste very different from one year to the next. What's worse is when the waiter brings the wine to the table and doesn't point out that it is from a different year than what you ordered. Pros: Creative and delicious food Cons: Wine list is out of date - listed vintages not actually in stock for many wines. more

Best Sushi, What Sushi? 7/19/2006

I am so confused, why is this restaurant on the list of Best Sushi in Houston? We tried it, excited to have a new upscale place to eat sushi and to our surprise, NO sushi on the menu. Pros: Free valet. Cons: Prices, Wait time, Food. more

Not all that 7/5/2006

We went on a Friday night based on the critical reviews of the restaurant. We had reservations and still had to wait. When we were sat, we noticed a number of empty tables. No prices on the menu, which I don't have a problem with if the food is worth it. This food on the other hand, was not worth it. Two appetizers and four entrees later no one was satisfied and everyone was still hungry. The wait staff was pleasant and the ambience was nice. BUT, the food was terrible and pretentious with complicated flavors that dont work together. Will not return. Cons: Price, Food, Seating more

Best romantic dinner anywhere! Flawless service! 7/1/2006

The whole experience came together with once we walked in and were warmly welcomed and seated by our hostess. The atmosphere was perfect for an engagement. All of the staff were so friendly and we were both very impressed with the food. Pros: Food, Wine list, Service Cons: N/A more

As usual !!!!!! 5/4/2006

We went back last week, again, just perfect. Chef Gadsby and his crew are really pushing the details to the limit. Everytime we're going to Noe, we tell our waiter that we want the 6 course or 9 course tasting and we want Chef Gadsby to surprise us. Everytime it has been an experience. We're going there because of the food, but also because of the service. The waitstaff is attentive, but not obtrusive, just enough. We just love Noe !!! Pros: Food, Wine list, Service more

Absolutely Fabulous!!!!! 2/15/2006

I visited Noe yesterday evening for the 1st time and it was so wonderful it prompted me to create a account just so that I could leave a review! Service was just impeccable from begining to end! I made a reservation online and when I came in, I was greeted by name. Our waiter,Ronnie, was very knowledgeble about the food and wine and recomended some perfect pairings. We had the 6-course tasting and with 2 oz per course we left very satisfied. Each course was so delectable it was almost orgasmic. The chef sent us a nice ""gift"" before our courses that just kicked off the meal well. Everything was perfectly balanced (the texture and the spices). The Chef would send out tiny drinks that matched the course perfectly. Well rounded. The price was a little steep but worth it. I will definately visit Noe again for a special occasion. Pros: Service, Food, Ambience Cons: Price more

Just Say NO 10/2/2005

Went with my wife at 10pm on a Saturday. Did not have a reservation and was told we would have a 15 minute wait - not a big deal - went to the adjacent bar for a cocktail. Five minutes later was told we could have a 8 seat table but could sit on the corner. We told them we would wait for a smaller table, which magically appeared in a couple minutes! Sitting down, we noticed many small tables available. Our waiter was pretensious, the place was stuffy, food very average for the price. Won't return. Cons: Service, Atmosphere, Cost more

Changed our minds!!!! 7/28/2005

After a less than impressive first trip to Noe, we left feedback to match. The restaurant actually cared enough about our expereince to call and invit us back, promising our first trip was not typical. We took them up on it, and are glad we did! We again had the tasting menu, but this time, each course was unique and flavorful. The service was probably the best we've ever experienced anywhere. Our waiter took care to talk about our likes and dislikes, and created a tasting menu and wine parings that were simple fantistic! Pros: Food, Service, Ambiance Cons: None, I Can, Think Of more

A new star in Houston's Fine Dinning 7/25/2005

Second time still great, we ate at Noe's for the second time. The 6 course tasting was incredible. The mimosa salad and the shashimi were great. The pork bellies were very tender and had great flavor. It was really a pleasant suprise. To top it off the desserts were better than the first time. more
