Service at the 9th Door was appallingly inept. We thought the food couldn't possibly make up for the lapses in service yet somehow it did just that. Asparagus with salmon was unreal, cheese plate was the most thoughtfully-prepared and presented in the city, albondigas (meatballs) were unreal, part II. Could have done without the salmon tartare - just not great but everything else was. Back to service: Waitress showed up after 15-20 minutes (after we asked if we had one at all), wine came 5 minutes AFTER the first dish was serve, plates were never cleared, the wrong wine was served...waitress was nice but just completely clueless and spent so much time lingering and chatting (sitting down with) certain tables that she just wasn't taking care of business. Support staff was equally slow and unaware. Service was infuriating but I'd go back for the food and the surprisingly quiet/sound-absorbing atmosphere.
Pros: atmosphere, food
Cons: service, service, service!
