Nickels Grille

I was out running errands with my friends yesterday and it was so nice out that we were trying to find somewhere to have lunch and a couple of drinks outdoors. I remembered that Nickels had a patio, but had not been since the first month when they opened. We went by to see if the patio was open for business, and we were in luck!!! What a great day to enjoy lunch outside. I have to say, my visit to Nickels yesterday was fantastic. The server, Rich, was great and took good care of us. They had just put Sangria on special that day, and have to say, I have never been a big fan of Sangria but it was amazing. I hope they think about adding it as a pitcher for an option to share with the table. Our lunch was good, and the new coconut shrimp was awsome. I remember when I first tried it here and I know they were still new and trying to get them selves organized, but things have come around. The atmosphere is very comfortable and I really enjoyed my day with my friends and being able to spend it outside was key. Hats off to a new place that seems to have got it together!!!!!! We ate at the place the day it opened, December 11th and to say the experience was terrible would be an understatement, I had a chicken salad in which I found no visible chicken, and if there was any green lettuce in the salad- i missed it. My wife had a cheeseburger which was grossly overpriced, and arrived way undercooked, The french fries were way undercooked as well and covered with large gobs of salt like a pretzel- bizzare. The ambiance was awful. The lighting unlike the Fridays they replaced, was way too bright and the dining room was completely devoid of any decorations whatsoever, The mishandled our payment and put the charge on our debit card though on February 26th and when we called to discuss it we were hung up on treated rudely, the womn wh said she was the manger refused to give her name and explained "we screed up billing the first week we were open." The Creole Crab Dip is the best appetizer, although I recommend splitting it with more than one person as it is very filling. Try the Carribbean Jerk Chicken for dinner and leave very happy! We have been to the Nickels Grill twice the first time by our selves the second with friends. Both times we were met by a friendly hostess who seated us at once. Both times the wait staff was great. They were knowlegable,friendly and we never had to wait for anything. Both times we have been there the entre's were very good and they gave us healthy portions of everthing. The rolls were hot and fresh and delecious. The Manager, Lisa, came over to ask how things were and had us sample the Key Lime Pie, Having lilved in Florida I was somewhat skeptical about how it would be but it was as good if not better then what I have had there. The prices are very reasonable and they a great variety on their menu. I would strongly reccomend it to anyone. more

I have ordered from Nickels several times now. The food quality has been very good. I have tried sandwiches, salads, and soups ( all with good results).My favorite is Chef Dave's Cajun seafood stew.It comes with ample amounts of shrimp, fish, & andouille sausage with vegetables in a spicy red broth. Corn bread & two dinner rolls are added to sop up the delicious broth (Excellent!). In addition, the staff and management have been helpful and friendly. Just as important, the orders are delivered on time, standing tall at time of pick-up.The staff make sure the order is correct, and all utensils and comdiments are with the order. I have also gone for cocktails after work. The bar staff have been equally courteous and helpful. Keep up the great work! i have been to this resturant 3 times so far an i absolutely love it, i am from NH so it takes me a good 45 mins to get to the resturant but it is so worth it. I love the atmosphere and especially the wait staff. Very nice and polite. The managers are also great. so happy that i actcally found a resturant that puts me at ease!! more
