Cheapest place and clean! 8/9/2011

This was by far the cheapest place to stay. It was clean, the staff was pleasant enough. If you don't expect perks (irons etc) of costly places, you'll be happy. Although I found the area safer than most, I still wouldn't recommend that children be allowed to roam about unattended, at any motel, anywhere. more

Always a good experience 8/4/2011

My husband and I stay at this Niantic Motel very frequently. We are retired and enjoy the area. We have NEVER had a bad experience there. The staff is always helpful, the rooms are always comfortable (maybe they could be a little cleaner) however, each time we stay there, we enjoy it very much. The pool is a great amenity as well. Our theory is, if your polite, others will be polite. We have stayed over 50 times and while, I am sure, there are other more posh hotels, this hotel is great for the value and the staff can be very helpful and nice. If your looking for a Marriott, this is not it (obviously), but my husband and I recommend this motel to anyone for a comfortable and quiet stay. more

Excellent 8/2/2011

we stayed at this Niantic Motel this past may 3rd for one night and I must say we were very pleased. Check in was excellent, room was a nice size and very clean. The bathroom was large with a great shower. The beds were also very comfortable. Do understand that these properties are very basic < no shampoo or other major bath products> with that in mind rest assured that you will have a great nights rest at a very affordable rate, I must also tell you how nice Melinda was < hotel manager> we had a small problem with the first room and she took care of the situation right away. I have had better service at motel 6 than some other upscale hotels in this area more

I could not believe someone wrote a bad review about this place! My husband and I have been going to this Motel for over 4 years. Our experience is always a great one. The staff is courteous and the pool is great. The rooms are comfortable and clean and quite roomy. Its not the ritz-carlton, but for a chain motel, its quite nice. The rooms are all brand new and have nice decor. They need to improve their housekeeping, but the rooms overall are usually quite clean. We have never had a problem here. I guess if your courteous, you get courtesy in return. The pool is huge and very well kept. (except one time they had a filter problem, but that was cleared up quickly). I recommend this motel to everyone! Also, for the price, you cannot go wrong!!!! more

Absolutely no issues 7/18/2011

After verifying all information, I confirmed the reservation and submitted my payment. My credit card was charged immediately, but I had piece of mind knowing that I could cancel my reservation for a full refund up until noon the day prior to check-in. As such, I didn't need to show my credit card upon check-in. That being said, my reservation was exactly what I had booked - a deluxe room with two double beds and a coffee maker. Priceline charged me the correct amount, and there were absolutely no issues with the hotel reservation. more

VERY helpful 7/12/2011

First the reviews on this sight were VERY helpful. - bring your own toiletries and bath towels if you like big fluffy ones. It is an average hotel, staff is VERY polite and helpful. I called the hotel to book directly, but, they suggested I go online to save 10%. Due to last minute booking, (5 days in advance) we were in a smoking room. The room had that stale smell. I used some herbal (thieves) spray which helped, then I decided to check out the filter on the a/c. The filter had about 1/2 inch of debris. Washed it out in the shower and the room was much better. The room is spartan, but very clean, sheets are thin, the blanket looked like army surplus, towels are small and thin. The pool looked well maintained, a large L shape with plenty of room for kids and adults. For two people, this close to Mystic and the casino's, $90 on a Saturday night high summer season was a deal. BOOK early! I called 5 days in advance and all that was left were 3 rooms in the smoking section. While checking in at 9pm, 4 people came in looking for hotel rooms. more

Nice hotel- almost didn't stop because of ""no name""- but glad we did. Got in very late & front dest attendant was very helpful & he even gave us tips on where to go. Nice, clean room- nice apperance. very pleased. more

Clean 6/28/2011

My mother and I stayed at the Niantic Motel at the end of April. We made our reservations with their website and had no trouble at check in. It is a much larger property than I'm used to seeing for this chain! 2 stories with no elevator which may be a consideration for some. However, we had no problems and found our room to be spare but clean. Bring your own toiletries! I'd have no problem staying here again. There is a wonderful breakfast place just around the corner from here, ask at the desk as i've now forgotten the name! more

Conveniently Located 6/20/2011

We stay in this area a lot, and foolishly thought that the further up I95 you go, the closer you are to the casinos. But when I got a room here for considerably less money than the other places were charging, I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. Pros: * Extremely conveniently located. It's straight off of the highway exit ramp. * Newly renovated, so most things were new. * Friendly, helpful staff. * Dining of all sorts is a stone's throw away. * Lots of shopping in the area. * Easy ride to the casinos. more

Great Value 6/9/2011

It seems to be relatively new, is in very good condition, is conveniently located near I-95, and we were very pleased with it. Our room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the shower worked well. It's a no-frills place (bring your own hair dryer and shampoo) but it's a very efficient, well-run place, and the staff members were very nice. It's a very good value, overall. more

Great value 6/1/2011

We stayed here for a few days before our wedding. The location was perfect for us, since it's close to where most of our family lives, but for visitors from out of the area it would also be perfect, since it's close to my favorite childhood beach, Rocky Neck, and the lovely village of Niantic. We stayed at the Niantic Motel because we were getting married and wanted to save our cash for our wedding and honeymoon. Our room was clean, my only complaints are that there was a cigarette burn in our comforter and our blanket looked like it had seen better days. The room was also very small and the bed was a bit uncomfortable. However, the room was clean, and the price was amazing. I think we paid $55 each night, while every other hotel in the area was going for a lot more. If you are on a tight budget, I would recommend this hotel. more

Wouldn't hesitate to use again 5/26/2011

My husband and I wanted an affordable and yet clean Motel to stay at in New London, CT, while visiting East Lyme Friends. We booked our reservation at the Niantic Motel website which saved me more money than using Expedia or Orbit Which we usually use. I checked the web site reviews for this specific hotel and they were questionable, but I had read one review that they were in the process of remodeling. So we took the chance to stay here. We Loved It. The out door pool was clean and beautiful for the weather! The price was very very affordable! ""booking early"". and the room was very clean, remodeled and nice. Somewhat a small room queen bed/non smoking but for what we were there for we didn't stay in all day only at night for it's intended use. I will absolutely stay at this Motel again! The staff was very accomodating, nice and polite. Although we didn't take advantage of the morning if they had any breakfast as that was not our need. We will say you would be happy with this hotel! more

Overall very happy 5/18/2011

didn't expect too much from a budget motel up-front, chose it for its convenient location along our route witih late arrival and early departure. Overall, very friendly and attentive service at reception (even recognized a birthday in the group). The only real disappointment was the bad smell in the room when we opened the door (room was very clean otherwise). Keeping the door open for half an hour helped a bit, and we put up with it as other rooms were taken. Quiet despite proximity to I-95. outside pool. more

Niantic is great, glad I used priceline. 5/12/2011

I would certainly recommend Priceline Hotels. The website - while not necessarily the most refined - has great functionality and offers a large selection of hotels. The prices seem in line with what I would expect, and I saw all major hotel brands - and local brands - represented fairly. The website didn't give me any reason to call customer service or complain about anything in particular. To conclude, I wouldn't hesitate to use Priceline again in the future for a hotel reservation. more
